  1. I imagine that swap would be pretty interesting, provided you dont mind looking around for a couple parts aside from your 4g motor setup. There are a couple ways to do this, but this one seems easiest to me: You'll need a 'W' or 'G' VIN Mitsubishi Mighty Max block (dependent on having a 6 bolt or 7 bolt motor), which allows a bolt up installation of a Starion/Conquest 5 speed transmission, and sets you up for a rear drive setup. The mighty max block is a 2.4 liter tall deck design, but your 2.0 4g head should work just fine. This setup has a longer stroke than the 2.0, and if memory serves, uses the same rod length due to the taller deck. IMHO, that would be a pretty wicked swap, and would be great if you already have a 4g setup laying around the house.
  2. I don't know about the rest of that stuff, but Ztherapy.com sells do it yourself rebuild kits, and has a full SU rebuild service, and can even install new throttle shaft ball bearings in place of your worn out brass ones.
  3. Maybe he was talking about the bastard hybrid rear mount engine swap.
  4. Yours looks just like the one I've got on my L28 at the moment. Oddly though, the valves on yours look to have different casting marks on them than mine did. All of mine had miniature nissan emblems cast into the valve face.
  5. Do you have any kind of photo editing software that you can use to chop those things down to about a quarter thier current size? Even MS paint would work fine.
  6. the maxima N47 has a smaller combustion chamber than the Z car N47. Easiest was to tell is that the maxima N47 is going to have a combustion chamber shape that looks very similiar to the later P79/P90 heads, rather than the early style open chambers.
  7. Also, it will make the installation of your SR20 alternator easier, as you'll have already converted to an internally regulated alt. Fewer things to go wrong on the big engine swap. Hope it works out! EDIT: I would like to add that my stock 45amp alt has taken the abuse by my electric (1 x 12") fan and 6x9 speaker bar without so much as a hickup... if you can ignore the blinking dash and headlights with the turn signal on.
  8. You guys that live near the beach in party towns will probably appreciate this. Unless its happened to you. Or you've done it to somone else. In which case you'll probably appreciate it even more. http://newyork.craigslist.org/about/best/sfo/40691636.html
  9. Actually I'm pretty sure the law requires you to have just one working wiper. From personal experience getting my car inspected, working is a pretty loose term, and as long as it sort of hobbles its way across your windshield (or lack therof) you should be fine. I hope you get that bad boy on the road soon, and since I saw some Dallas area guys posting here, you guys should check out the motorsports/events forum for the Ennis drags meeting on the 23rd. Quite a few dallas area hybrids are going, not just Z's this time.
  10. In Datsun327's stead, I will be letting you guys know how well this Peel N Seal stuff works out, as I've got 17' (around 50 square feet) of the roll that we bought. Should know within a day or two. I'll make sure I post pictures if you guys promise not to make fun of my passenger floorpan.
  11. I see no problem with taking an origional scarab and converting the mount style and changing parts. IMO, you are doing nothing but improve on whats already there.
  12. No! Thats sending more jobs overseas!
  13. Being 19 myself, I have to say that I would in no way want a modified Z as my first car, even as a car enthusiast. I started out on a rather unimpressing '97 Mitsubishi Eclipse that served me well for my first year of driving. Now I have my '72 240z, which even with the suspension partially redone and 280zxt rims and nice sticky tires, still finds ways of scaring me. I wouldn't want to see a car like mine with another 150hp in the hands of me, 2 years ago. I can say with confidence that I would have almost certainly wrecked it trying to find its limits on some deserted stretch of road. Thank you mom, for not letting me get that Fox body mustang that I wanted. As for sales, someday when I finally get tired of my car, it will be passed on to the capable hands of some nice old dentist or such, who won't kill it.
  14. On a 3.7 R200 LSD I should add, with (mike, correct me if I'm wrong) stock halfshafts.
  15. If only I could get a set of those first ones in red....
  16. Signed. ...you know, for some reason the police around here never give me any grief for my lack of front plate.
  17. Definately need to hear the rest of that one Aux.... Might want to post it on Lowbrow too, they love stuff like that!
  18. Would a Z31 ecu conversion be a better choice for this?
  19. I've seen several people either in the process or have already completed a supercharger installation on an L-series engine. However, the only one that I've heard of that is complete and running is also using megasquirt for fuel management. I'm curious to know if I could run an intercooled supercharger setup on the stock 82 turbo EFI that I have. I'm down a turbo and using a flattop block, so I think this would be an awesome alternative for me. I can fabricate the mounts, piping, and air box for this setup, I just need to know if I can run my stock turbo EFI.
  20. Muskrat

    WOW!!!

Yeah, and my donkey can do calculus.
  21. Jeez, you'd think they would at least use the colored tire shine after they went through the trouble to chrome the REST of the car.
  22. At least I haven't put my foot through any of my floorpans recently.
