  1. I just put them in my '78 280Z using the Sparco seat mount. I drilled an extra pair of inboard holes to move them another 3/4" inward and "massaged" the tunnel and they work.
  2. I got another small batch made up, so I'll have a few none on hand. Just wanted to let you know.
  3. Pair of seat tracks / sliders for Sparco OMP seats. http://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/191801548236
  4. It would be tight. Also depends on torso length as much as anything, maybe OK if you have long legs? I'd like to mount to the floor, but that'll be some work. ;^)
  5. OK, so I mounted the seats to the Sparco seat mounts along with the OMP/Sparco seat tracks/sliders. The passenger side (as expected) was a "piece of cake" and is located exactly where you would want it. As for the driver side, the location was right where the shoulder bolster would touch the window. I wanted to match the driver side location to the passenger where it would actually recline. There is an extra set of slots on the right (inside) of the mount to move it inward more, but not on the outside, so I ended up drilling a couple holes to match it up to be mounted as close to the tunnel as possible. When bolting the seats to the floor, I could either lean the seat back where the shoulder bolster is clear of the B-pillar interior trim panel or in front of it, so I went for a more reclining position since I prefer that and it allowed for about 1.5" of head room. (I am 6 foot tall with 32" inseam) I did report this issue to Planted Technologies (who makes the mounts for just about all aftermarket seats) and they will talk to Sparco about possible addition of the extra slot with them. I also told them that in a perfect world, it would be nice if the mounting tabs were moved outward (toward the door) by a half inch or so to get it just right. I did "massage" the tunnel a bit early on and there are no clearance issues the way the seats are mounted right now, so it would be minimal, if any, in a 280Z. So, it would be tight for anyone over 6 foot tall and I likely will modify the floor/seat rails to get more head clearance in the future, but will work fine for now. Really, I could just solid mount them in place and gain almost another inch of headroom, which may also be something to consider down the road since I won't be letting many people drive my car and they just better not be short. ;^) Hope that helps.
  6. I went with the Schroth Rallycrosse 4-point harness, which I had in my 510 back in the day. I like the ease of just putting arms through the shoulder harness and just snapping the buckle like a standard seat belt.
  7. I will be able to give you more info on the Sparco R100s since I got them for my '78 280Z. I was hoping to adapt them to the stock rails (which is easily done with the 240Z setup), but since both sides have different mounting spacing, I just got the Sparco base mounts and tracks and will be mounting them. Stand by.
  8. With a couple of others ordering them recently, I am down to the last 2 brackets. Just wanted to let you guys know if case you were looking to get one.
  9. Someday, I'm hoping that I'll be able to put the new 8L90 with paddleshift into my Z.....faster shifting than the Porsche and 8 gears....oh, that would be fun!! It'll take some serious floor/tunnel modification, but may be worth it. After driving a Ferrari 360 Challenge car, I really want a true paddleshift setup, but after talking to the guys who have it with the 4L60E say it's not really worth doing. Guess I have to try one to see if it's worth putting the paddleshift setup in my car now. Anyone have any experience with the TCI or other setups? I know it's slow and not like most newer cars.
  10. Thanks, Dan! You came through once again! Much appreciated. Thanks for the backup, Jamal.
  11. Looks about right. The black ones are the version I need (like those) and the other shows the angled tabs at both ends.
  12. Hey guys, does anyone have a nice set (ideally not rusted & crusty) seat rails for a 280Z with the flat tab in the back? (there are 2 styles, one with angle front & flat back tab and one with angled on both ends) They are different than 240Z rails, so can't use those. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!
