  1. ok, so it's the same thing as an fmu. if i'm keeping the boost low do i need to worry about the injectors at all? you may ask how low of boost, i can't answer that, i don't exactly know how to adjust boost on this car because there is no wastegate on the setup. and i don't want to install a boost gauge in the car because i like everything looking the way it is, maybe a temporary gauge would be fine just to test. i do have an intercooler that i had installed on my saab for a while that i could use on this car, my only question is i was told that the pop-off valve on the j-pipe controls the boost, or at least is an emergency relief valve for the pressure. so, if i replace the j-pipe with other tubing and just install a bov is that going to mess up anything?
  2. tell me more about the fuel pressure regulator, what is the best and least expensive way to go about adding a rrfpr?
  3. i have the new ngk's sitting on my desk right here, the gaskets, p90 cylinder head, and ARP head studs are on their way. hopefully everything will be here by monday, and then hopefully by saturday i will register and insure the car!
  4. oh yeah, i bought oe nissan gaskets, and arp head studs to replace the old bolts.
  5. thanks for the info, it just reaffirms what i thought it was, i also bought a rebuilt p90 cylinder head just in case.
  6. i looked into that, they no longer own rajay, and don't have anything left for rajay turbos, i also contacted kelly aerospace, who bought rajay from turbonetics, and they no longer make any automotive turbos.
  7. i've had a similar problem here, my mom has an '02 subaru outback and needed new front calipers, we went to advance and picked up a set, and they didn't fit. we could get one of the slider bolts in, but then the other was maybe 1/8" to 1/4" off center, so we ended up rebuilding the calipers ourselves.
  8. is that a a cobra daytona coupe in the background?
  9. how is it driving with such a wide tire on the front without power steering? or do you have power steering?
  10. well i guess it couldn't hurt to inspect things, but it is the actual mileage of the z, verified by all of the paperwork, and the tread life left on the tires that are still on the car from 1982!
  11. the majority of these are from the recent import replicar/kit car show at carlisle last month
  12. wow, consternation, now there's a word you don't hear every day. lol good luck with whatever it is you're doing!
  13. as previously stated, i would weld as much as you can on the car as the heat will tend to distort your parts, so unless you have a jig to hold everything in place where it needs to be i would weld as little as possible outside of the car.
  14. ok i'll keep searching around, any place other than a dealer where i can order an oe nissan gasket?
  15. wow those clean up real nice, i'll have to see if i can polish the lip on my wheels some more. i've also been looking at replica or take-off rims on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/15-8-XXR-513-Gold-Wheels-rims-Datsun-280zx-Nissan-240sx_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ65Q3a12Q7c66Q3a2Q7c39Q3a1Q7c72Q3a1171Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem33531f1315QQitemZ220437877525QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  16. well i spent under $400 for the head, and the car only has 61k miles on it, so i'm not too worried about the bottom end, also i want to be able to drive the car! i'm not getting into pulling the motor and rebuilding the whole thing just because i'm already in there, no offense or anything. i just figured it'd be easier for me to pull the head and put on a fresh one as opposed to pulling the head and taking it to a machine shop to have it rebuilt, it would probably be about the same price.
  17. no idea what these are really, the center caps (not on the wheels) say western, and they're a 14" wheel the tires are 195/70/14
  18. i'm thinking about getting some 15" wheels instead of the 14"s on my car now, does anyone have pictures of these on their s30? 15 8 XXR 513 Rims Datsun 240z 260z 280z BMW E30 240sx:eBay Motors (item 350215182283 end time Jul-18-09 11:14:13 PDT)
  19. wow, i'm guessing that car was rearended? the panel gap between the rear quarter and hatch on the driver side looks huge! anyway nice pickup, i'm jealous. edit: nevermind, i see the mismatched paint on the front of the car.
  20. wow still no pics of these kits huh?
  21. ok so just to be on the safe sidei purchased a freshly rebuilt cylinder head. i figure if i'm going to have the engine apart i might as well put a fresh head on it. i'm also going to replace the original bolts with a set of ARP studs, as recommended. do you guys have any recommendations on a specific head gasket to use, or will any brand suffice?
  22. wow i hope it's a quality piece for the money you spent on it.
  23. what would be a better way to richen the a/f mixture? I would like to modernize this turbo system a little bit, if i replace the old rajay turbo with one that has an internal WG, can i install a manual boost controller, and then run new plumbing to the TB with a BOV on it instead of the pop off valve boost control system?
  24. too big? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUPER-T4-T04B-AR60-COLD-1-02-HOT-TURBO-TURBOCHARGER_W0QQitemZ150348106320QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2301720a50&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65%3A12|39%3A1|72%3A1171|240%3A1318
  25. i did see your post, but i don't really need installation information, the system is already on the car.
