  4. Sort-of; I gave my `95 Hardbody XE V6 (Xcab) to my son but he's still on his learner's permit, wife drives a Corolla and I have a Sierra 1500 SLT 4x4 Z71 to tow my toys (boat/jetski) and for long family trips.
  5. Hey guys, I have the Tokico HP (blue) struts & lowering springs installed on my S30. After I had the tires rotated and balanced, I now have a hard rattle coming from (only) the rear passenger side that sounds like the strut is loose. I can't see this being caused by the tire place as the car should be able to 'hang' while the wheels/brakes are worked on--would this be a result of improper installation of the strut or spring? Could the spring have got twisted somehow and not seated properly? Thanks, mister
  6. Interesting article; when I was stationed in JP (20+ yrs ago) I had a Cedric the wife drove and it was a luxury car--had power everything and suede-like seats, comfortable ride and looked similar to the Laurel. I drove a `76 2+2 FairladyZ. Laurels were popular back then so there could be a few still around; possibly in the bone yards around Japan. The locals know GIs will buy their junk so they don't usually crush the 'good' cars.
  7. Tempting but I was thinking glass and also think it would look pretty cool & unique. I was a big Bond fan growing up and the DB5, IMO, was the best Bond car of all times. Thanks for the specs Trevor! mister
  8. Hey guys, I'm prior military (USAF) and was station at Yokota AB, JP, a member of the 1837th '87-88... those were the days! I remember how easy it was to find parts at the JYs around there but sure they're scarce nowadays... anyways, any current members in Japan that could locate a vintage Fairlady 5-speed badge for me? Thanks, mister
  9. HZ3012 (front) / HZ3013 (rear) TOKICO HP Premium blue shocks w/ high performance Tokico lowering springs, with a 1" inch drop. Or if you have the extra $$ the adjustable Lllumina struts are best. I think I'll keep them, thanks. mister
  10. Thoughts on Aston Martin DB4/5 nose and bonnet; could it work on an s30? I don't have any measurements but curious if it could be fab'd and look good. mister
  11. Genius! I love it when folks think outside the box. Thanks, mister
  12. Well, I learned a valuable lesson today not to throw anything away; sorry dude, if I hadn't pitched my springs and new KYBs when I lowered my car I'd have given them to you. : / mister <---- 30 lashes w/ bamboo cane
  13. If it helps, my stock Alt went out so I swapped a new `82 ZX Alt from Autozone following the steps here: http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/alternatorswap/index.html For Z owners: It's nice to see the needle not fluctuate and lights dimming... ah, those were the days. After I made the electrical jumpers I covered everything in wire loom and blended it in w/ the (loose) VR plug... I have a dash placard from `95 Atlanta Zfest covering my VR that diverts attention so I left it in, disconnected of course--not like anyone would know the difference. mister
