  1. ^^ Agree #3 (logo centered); would be really cool if you could somehow incorporate the skyline w/ the twin towers, or the shot of the twin towers in 'light' (beaming up to the sky (post 9/11)) Lest we forget....... nice work!
  2. Back with the car... a personal best, 1015 mi (round trip) in 18 hrs including loading the car on the trailer. Only proved I'm not as young as I used to be. Ha More pics soon...
  3. Hmm, that's a possibility... I still think I would smell it but my car farts roses.
  4. Yeah, that's what he said but it's got a Euro plate on it. I had a `76 280Z Fairlady 2+2 while station in Fussa, JP (Yokota AB) `87-88 but came home on emergency leave and didn't get a chance to ship it; hence, my `77 coupe (because I prefer the coupe body style ) same color and interior but the wheel is on the wrong side. I'm going to take that chance and head up the road and make the call(s) after sun up (first being to the seller); I'm on a time schedule but can always turn around if the deal goes sour. Cross your fingers, my son is really counting on this car and I'd hate to disappoint him as a result of a simple oversight.
  5. Snap, trailer hooked up and was headed out @ 6a; I think I'll make the call first. Thanks
  6. Green... seriously, no leaks no burning and no 'smell'; I'm sticking w/ gremlins or a hard up neighbor for now. Mysterious...
  7. I'm leaving in the morning to pick up a 78 FairladyZ imported to the US (years ago); upon closer look of the ad, it only says the title is from `91 and says 70K miles on it--no mention if it ever was titled in the US. How hard/much is it to title a JDM car? I just thought of this as a friend at work today said it was very expensive if it's never been titled in the US(?). Thanks,
  8. ^^ that's crazy, I'm Brian Fellows! (I was tired?)
  9. I notice over time my S30 uses a couple quarts of oil between changes. Conventional oil seems to go quicker so last change I used Mobil 1 and it seems to do better with that. No visible leaks or smoke, just loses oil over time--so, where does it go? I don't think it's age related as the mechanic that works on my cars has a fairly new big SUV and it does the same thing. He was working on my car assessing a new whining noise coming from the engine we suspect is the oil pump (also low pressure) when he said he had to add two quarts as it was barely touching the stick; however, I had checked it prior to taking it to him (car sat for a couple days) and it was full (H). Just curious...
  10. Finalizing plans to drive up Thurs and return Friday so the car is here before the weekend. The VIN is HGS130003118; since this is technically the first year of the S130, we should be able to swap (most) parts w/ any S130 correct? Curious about the engine bay though since it's RHD, I presume everything is on the opposite side as the domestic version--so parts like fuel rails, intake/exhaust, etc would have to come from another RHD car? Guess I'll be making some Japan & Aussie friends! mister
  11. That's what is was, a loose gland nut. I guess the noise is gone now (talked to his wife) but haven't seen the car since 5p Sat. Left 4 or 5 messages for him to call me; even got a reported sighting of the car last night around town w/ 2 people in it. Flattering considering he's got a hot Evo 10 as his DD. I guess he's checking out a couple other things I mentioned but didn't approve any additional work on the car. Thanks Jon!
  12. Hi Brian,

Thanks, I searched for my Z for ~8 mos before I found this one semi-locally (~75 mi from home). The seats were purchase/installed by the previous owner; I think he said they're on eBay for about $1000./pr (Honda S-2000 seats).

  13. Hi there, I love your 280z, I have a 1976 280z that I just got and it needs a complete interior. Can you tell me where did you get those seats? They look fantastic......Thanks

    Brian

  14. Your right, and I stand corrected as it's only a local law here that police can ticket you for going slower than the flow of traffic in the left lane (impeding traffic). Locals commonly refer to it as 'move over'.
  15. Well, my 16 yo son decided on his first project and went with a 78 Fairlady (RHD) 280Z 2+2. The previous owner stated it has a bored out L26. It's pretty rough but shouldn't take much to get it running as I'm told it would start and run as long as you spray it w/ starting fluid (bad fuel pump?). Purchased for $540. but still need to get it home from TN.
  16. Ok, thanks! I think I got it so excuse my ignorance as I knew nothing about this subject--I only do simple sh-- like oil change alt swap, tune up, etc. I'm pretty good at applying graphics though! ha
  17. Well, I finally got around to making an appointment tomorrow to drop the car off to the guy that installed the struts for me. He's a good mechanic (I work w/ his wife) and pretty meticulous and doubts this is the problem and has already made it known that if this is not the problem I have to pay him for his time. I'm pretty sure Jon is spot on as this has been progressively getting worse and the rattle seems to be isolated to the right rear strut tower. My hearing is not that good so I plan to have my son go for a ride with me tonight after work and press his ear against the tower (inside the car.. ha) to see if it is indeed coming from there. The car has been parked for the last couple days `cause I'm afraid it may be doing damage(?) and besides, it's unbearable for me to see/hear my baby ailing. There was nary a squeak or rattle on the whole car before the struts were installed and had the tires rotated. If Jon is correct, my theory is when the car was up on the lift w/ the wheels off and suspension hanging, maybe the gland nut slipped (if hung on the tower) at that point and not seated on the strut insert properly(?).
  18. Holy!!! That looks pretty rad, can't wait to see that pass... SMOKIN!!!! We'll have to see if there's any tread left at the end of the run. ha
  19. Essentially, that's the principal behind it, dependent upon the type of refinancing you do; if it's a debt consolidation that you plan to take any positive equity you have to pay off your other loans along with the first (prior) mortgage, in some instances (based on credit rating I'm sure) the bank pays off all the loans, gives you the difference (if there's anything left) and could still put a lien on those other assets that were paid off... so I'm told. Kinda like, "you own it but can't sell it (without our permission) and if we don't get our money we're going take it from you". No loan officer Z drivers around?
