  1. The price is excellent. Check it inside and out for rust. Rocker panels, under the battery, floors, frame rails, sill panel under the hatch, just to name a few. A paint job would turn that ugly duckling into a swan.
  2. 240Zrubberparts.com sells the lens and gasket for $35.00.
  3. I've done the same at Oreilly's. Sunday mornings are a good time to ask for special service. @Neverdone The Oreilly's at Johnson Creek and 82nd are great guys.
  4. Good logic in checking the butterflies. They have to open for the engine to rev. Be sure to check the float levels. I wouldn't assume they're correct. The previous owner's "set-up" wasn't even close.
  5. Have you checked that the throttle return springs are hooked up? There should be one on each carb that hooks onto the linkage and anchors on the heat shield below.
  6. Assuming the plugs are good, you didn't change anything electrical, bump an elec. connection somewhere, (voe), and it's not leaking fuel, I'd suspect a lack of fuel. A fuel pressure and volume test could eliminate the pump as a cause. Checking and or changing filters, starting with the last chance banjo fittings on top of the float bowls all the way back to the tank is always a good idea. If you think it may be just a mixture problem, while it's struggling to go up a hill, gradually add some choke and see if it improves.
  7. I'd try opening the hood a bit when you stop and try to let some heat out of the engine bay. It sounds like vapor lock or fuel percolation. I'm assuming this is an early Z with carbs and a mechanical pump.
  8. I had the same problem with an 81 RX7 pilot bearing. HF bearing puller just slipped off. An old friend suggested using bread. Find a bolt that is slightly smaller than the hole. Stuff the hole with bread, give the bolt a few hits and add more bread. Repeat until the bearing comes out. It worked great. Easy clean up too.
  9. @solidrock171 Do you happen to have the right side piece of the front bumper as well as the long center rubber strip for a 76? Thanks
