  1. Hey Guys, I could really use some advice on the TC rod setup for my 240z. Im hoping someone who's had theirs adjusted with an alignment would be able to post a pic to gauge the appx length they should be set to. Im not sure if they are stock length when fully retracted for somewhere in the middle of their travel, and I do not have a stock one to compare to. pictures of an installed set would be extremely appreciated. Thanks Meph
  2. Those look like they may tuck under the fenders with a little camber and fender rolling.
  3. used sw20 front struts for the front of my Z, they are 13.125" and let you cut appx 2" out. You have to drill or grind a larger hole on the hat that mounts to the car (thign with 3 bolts and center hold where the strut is bolted down)
  4. http://dirtys30.blogspot.com/2011/04/how-to-240z-ground-control-coilovers-w.html Not affiliated with this site, but is one of the first when searching the subject online.
  5. Long story short, one of the popular 240z strut sectioning guides online has a typo, saying you need MR2 AW11 front struts (87-89) for the front of the 240z. After buying a pair I determined that its actually REAR aw11 struts you need. The good news is I also own a aw11 with blown front struts, but the bad news is they dont work for the Z. All the good parts suppliers for Canada online (that I know of , autopartsway.ca ect) dont have any instock (rears) I was hoping to find an alternative set to buy, I know you can use Rabbit Struts (but I dont know what year/model) and Ive read that AE92 (corolla) have been used before too. Does anyone have any solid info on what else can be used besides the mr2 parts? Thanks, Adam
  6. Everything looks great but I dont think the rims do the car justice, an amazing job overall!
  7. ah yes, my 285/40/15 slicks I only drive when its dry. New tires coming next season, they have a ton of grip when all's dry though
  8. Here's another 1920x1080 wallpaper of my 1jz 240z, if you like it let me know! Smaller verson My girlfriend is very embarrassed bout being posted, so make lots of lewd comments about her
  9. Miles, just noticed your tires are on the wrong direction. just a head up
  10. If you upload them at www.imageshack.us, theres an option to resize them right on the website.
  11. how does that rear bar work? Can you give us some info on it??
  12. a cheap hand held sandblaster (10-20 dollars) and a compressor is the best treatment before paint.
  13. Do you have some info on that other Z 4runner ? My friends interested!
  14. My friend was gonna buy that but when he had the cash the kijiji ad was gone, this explains it... lol
  15. it never fails, once I post a question I get the answer myself the conclustion. I used my 240z push rod in the celica master cylinder. The end of the 240z was slightly bigger and pushed the seals past the tiny vent hole even when fully retracted. I installed the celica rod and its all good now, just slightly shallow pedal position. delete post post or keep it for future searches?
  16. Hey guys My problem is that my clutch hydraulics keep becoming pressurized over time. Before I knew about this problem, my clutch got so bad it would slip at 1500 rpm in 5th gear because the pressure was releasing the clutch. My master cylinder is from an 90's Celica (1jz has replaced my l24)and I just re drilled new holes in the fire wall. I had the same setup last year and never noticed a problem, but this year its been evident. Im wondering if the return spring inside the cylinder is possibly too strong and forcing the piston back faster than the pressure plate, and each shift forces a little more fluid to get in front of the front seal/into the line. Has anyone has a problem like this before? Opening the bleeder lets the excess fluid out and temp. solves the problem
  17. thanks, I have the same rims sizing, but with 285's in the rear, I love the look of the 225's, looking forward to getting some put on as my 85's are bald
  18. Whats the wheel and tire combo there? Please dont ever paint it, looks so good
  19. There are many different theories that will contradict each other. Id say, 100% no argument thing to do is pull the plugs and crack the engine over until you have oil pressure, might take 10-15 seconds of cracking or more. Do it in 5 second bursts (you will need an oil pressure gauge). after that, it comes down to the engine build, if its done right then its done right. If it was done poorly you will have issues regardless of the break-in period. Id just change the oil after the first start up and heat cycle. Then drive it civilly for a couple hundred miles, change it again than just drive it. They dyno newly built engines after short break-in periods. Stay ontop of fluids and just ease yourself into feeling comfortable with it.
  20. Its not any colour you could replicate, the base coat is treamclad (mix of dark blue and white) with an electric blue+purple crystal candy coat ontop
  21. 1920x1080 wallpaper if anyone decides to use it let me know
  22. i check the struts and they are something like 2.005" doing the math back from a cercomfrence of 160mm. Is the 280z strut significantly differnt?
  23. Hey guys Id like to order a coil over kit for my Z, but Im not too sure what version I need. I have a 260Z whats gone under the knife and gone though an identity crisis, so Im not sure what year exactly, I believe 74. I know that the rear strut towers are lower than a 280z's, because I tried to use 280 interior pieces there and there was a a substantial gap. What measurements will tell me if I need to order the 240 or 280 kit? Thanks a lot p.s Ive searched for 2 days, want to order this kit sooner than later so I had to ask.
