  1. Just wanted to post up my latest intake, so you guys have ideas of what we can use. This is a GMPP ls7 intake with the 6061.com LSX elbow on it. It clears the stock hood without issues. (quite a bit more room, possibly 2" of space)
  2. Did you bleed the vents? And you can run the hose to either, it doesn't matter. Water just cools as it passes through the radiator. Generally these motors overheat do to air pockets. (Like 95% of the time from my experience)
  3. 2nd that one. I run dual MV-R 44mm and don't have any issues, but a single is generally not enough. Either a single 60 or dual 38+ are a good idea. The single 60s can be a little hard to control without co2 though sometimes,
  4. The louvers will be better probably, but normally the cowl area is completely closed, so the cowl hood is no worse than stock. And at idle it allows as much air to flow out as the vents would. As for the high pressure area, I've read a lot of studies on it and the consensus is that at speed it is similar to stock hood airflow. How is your cooling system setup? I chased a ton of gremlins thinking airflow was my cooling system issue (Same as yours, heating at higher speed) and it was actually the cooling system routing. At street level of use its almost never passive airflow.
  5. Why not just buy a used F-body pan? They are pretty cheap on LS1 Tech all the time
  6. Also check the airbleed setup. Do you have them blocked off, or routed so they allow air out of the engine? Pretty sure a cowl hood is not going to cause issues like that.
  7. No, you need the correct windage and pickup tube.
  8. Gotta use a custom mount generally if you use the vette balancer. Or the Vette bracket, but the alternator hits the shock tower with that bracket.
  9. Totally ok to reverse. Just don't swap front and rear sensors. (you won't be using rears, they are only to check catalytic converter function)
  10. Correct! If you don't need space and have an ls1 pump available, go for it. Then you can just use an ls1 camaro tensioner. If you want a new pump my friend sells them for $65 plus shipping, but I don't know how good that price is. (It's Chinese, but good quality) If you keep the short water pump, any corvette tensioner will work, ls1 or 6
  11. On the irs, a solid front diff mount is a good way to go from my experience
  12. That pan you have currently is WAY too low btw. Even the ls1 camaro pan is about 2" shorter than the one you currently have. I run the ls1 pan and even after coming down from monster wheelies and driving 20+k miles, it doesn't have any scratches.
  13. Ls2 vette pan is NOT the batwing pan you are thinking of. That's only the ls1/6 vette. Ls2 vette pan runs a shallow pickup but the downside is with the JCI kit, it cannot be removed while the engine is in the car. The camaro pan can be. For dimensions on most of the popular sizes, check out http://www.improvedracing.com/tech/LS-oil-pan-dimensions.php For the tensioner, you need a corvette tensioner. This is due to the shifted position of the water pump, which the tensioner bolts on to.
  14. I use the ls3 water pump with spacers cause it gives me 2+" more space for my turbo. He was asking how to adapt the ls3 wp, so I gave him the info on how I did it.
  15. Also the tensioner I used was the stock 2004 vette tensioner which fits the belt spacing with the spacers. As for the idler, in that picture of the belt routing, there is the part # from autozone for it. You will need to use a washer to space it correctly as it says in the picture.
  16. I used this water pump. I was told from gm its the same on the camaro but my was from a corvette. Is your pump the same?
  17. I bought the bolts directly from gm. They are fairly cheap through them. I don't remember the exact bolt length though. The spacers I linked will work for sure. I use those on my setup, ls3 water pump, f body balancer/alt mount. I use the routing and belt in the picture here. You will need to use the ls3 tensioner with this setup, not an ls1 one.
  18. I'd like to go with them someday. Tired of my autometers
  19. Without boost, a 6 bolt Block isn't really needed. And on a Z very few people need a 6 bolt for boost. I'm one of those few hahaha
  20. Got a new intake setup. Wasn't a fan of the ls7 I had so I figured this was the best way to go.
  21. Sold it to a buddy of mine. It's currently at the machine shop Gering refreshed.
  22. There is a ton of clearance under the starter without compromising ground clearance. I only run a 3.5" exhaust through there though. Are you planning on a dump pipe also, or just the full exhaust?
  23. Belt issue is normal. I ground that bolt down a bit for clearance but it's not necessary
  24. They won't sell them in cali? Call jtr or Sanderson, they should do it. Just tell them it's a track only car.
