I would but I don't quite remember how I did it. I already had the BRE spoiler on the car so I just removed that one and bolted this in place. Direct drop in. I think I just got out a measuring tape and a pencil. Measured everything about 5 times and marked it with the pencil. Then I drilled away. It was pretty easy back when I initially did the install. Took under an hour. Wish I had more for you! Good luck!

Umm.. My 82 280zxt came with a 5 speed. Borg Warner T5 factory installed in 82 & 83..

Oh I am SO in for this! Does it bolt into the same holes as the BRE?

Got the unit out today. The input shaft has about 1/8"-1/4" of play in all directions besides in/out. Got a new bearing on the way. I may have to take you up on this offer. T5? Could you get a shipping quote to 55376 for me please?

Still no fix but I'm getting a new clutch and flywheel put in soon. I will have them check straightness of the shafts in the transmission also. I'll update if this cured the problem once finished.

um, seeaaarrrch? I haven't posted much but I've read through pages and pages of information. I can tell you that this topic has been covered. A little spoon feeding: You need to mess with the AFM and CamH is right. It is difficult to get it tuned right. Just wait for money/time to put in a standalone with all the supporting mods. This is what I am doing. It will save you time and headaches in the long run. Good luck!

I'm purely speculating at my speed but it was a highway run with airdam, spoiler, and tokico lowering. I was at about 5700-5800 rpm (roughly)in 5th gear. I don't know really since I was paying attention to the road and my exit was quickly approaching but once I finished beating an Impala SS, I stuck the clutch in and coasted for a bit. As soon as I popped the tranny out of gear, I heard a terrible clanging and was infinitely stuck in 1st gear! Turns out the T5 cant handle those speeds! Or I used the wrong fluid in the tranny....

I've always found it to be quite silly myself but I jumped on the bandwagon purely to poke fun at it all. See for yourself:

I just put in a replacement transmission (BW T5) and now it has this violent side-side shake in the shifter. This only occurs in 3rd gear and if I push the shifter forward farther, it seems to stop. The only thing different from the swap is the tranny, the tranny cross member plate (attaches across the cross member on the front side) was removed. I think that the driveshaft may be 180* off (unsure if this is the problem but solved vibrations on previous vehicles).

Only if you have a T5 transmission out of an 82-83 turbo 280zx.

I've been wanting to do that for a while. I think it would look great!
