  1. Thanks for sharing. I might just need to get an instagram account just to look at Zs all day!
  2. JoeK I took my rotors to a machine shop to get the center hole enlarged. I think they used a lathe to enlarge it. Maybe TTT would be willing to drill the correct bolt pattern on their 5 lug front hubs: https://technotoytuning.com/nissan/280z/5-lug-front-hubs-datsun-260z-and-280z
  3. Mine are already installed so I can't measure them however one write-up says the rotors are 11.65". If they can make custom rotors that would be great. I borrowed a friend's drill press and used the old hub ring as a template then bolted it down to the rotor. I forgot to mention we placed the old ring on the rotor and measured from the end of the ring to the end of the rotor hat. We took four measurements and made sure they were all the same. Be careful when drilling the hole that goes through the original hole, the bit tended to want to walk when we were drilling it out.
  4. The lug pattern on the Odyssey is 5x120. I think the 5 lug conversions run 5x114 so you'd have to redrill the rotor and that's if the existing holes don't intefere.
  5. I'm not on instagram. Do you have any links for them?
  6. Thanks for the heads up on the adapters. I emailed them today and got a list of the parts I will need to be able to run the 350z or 370z transmission. Looks like I'll have to fabricate the transmission mount and shifter bracket. He did say that I could use the flywheel and clutch for the RB26. I was going to use a Southbend z31 clutch. Hopefully that will work because I hate selling new parts.
  7. The brake adapters finally arrived from Japan for the Z32 calipers. After fighting the suspension all day I finally figured out the AZC steering knuckles were on the wrong sides. Doh! After switching them around and replacing the wheel bearings I was in business. Now that I know everything is good, the calipers are off to the powder coater tomorrow.
  8. Ok I got a chance to bolt everything up to make sure there weren't any issues with the brackets. The only issue I ran across was the top allen bolt was hitting the strut tube. I'm not sure if it's because of the coilovers but I'm going to grab some traditional bolts with shorter heads to see if that remedies the issue. Here are some pictures so you can see what the set up looks like.
  9. Just a small update. I'm meeting with a buddy this weekend and he's agreed to do the CAD work for the adapters. Hopefully I'll have it back by the end of next week and can take it to get quotes from local CNC shops after that.
  10. The set up will be identical to the brake set up here:http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/105586-z32-caliper-conversion-kit-front-only/?hl=brakes&do=findComment&comment=987858 It uses the Honda Odyssey rotors which does require redrilling for a four lug set up along with enlarging the center hole to 81mm.
  11. Last October a few friends and I went to Japan on a Z trip. Since we were there we asked around if anyone sold the adapters that would allow the use of Z32 calipers on a S30. One of our group members found a source and we ordered a set. I bought an extra set to see if there would be interest in recreating them here in the states. Before I get them made I'd like to see if anyone is interested in buying a set. I just picked them up today and will visit a few local machinist to get prices next week. I'll post up the cost soon but if you're interested in a set you can post below.
  12. Just got mine in the mail. This thing is awesome. I just noticed that they're numbered so does that mean that I can brag to my fellow Z fans that it's a limited edition or are you going to make more?
  13. I got a chance to lay out the carbon fiber pieces in the daylight. I can't wait to get them bolted on but first we've got some body rust to take car of. I also plan on runninga 350z or 370z 6 speed transmission and was looking at the Collins adapters. Does anyone have any experience running their stuff? I'm also looking for the shifter relocator as well.
  14. That's the plan. According to T3 you can widen the track up to an inch with their LCA so that should be more than enough to prevent the axles from binding. Right now we're working on the rust and welding in the Bad Dog frame rails. Rust started forming on the outside of the block and I'm trying to decide if I should refresh the engine with new gaskets and get everything checked out while it's torn down.
  15. I'm in San Antonio but I used to live in Killeen many moons ago. lol
  16. I can't believe it's been 2 years since I've posted an update. Good thing I've still been working on her. I decided to change direction with the car and started with a few T3 and AZC suspension parts. I bought a set of BC coilovers and had a good friend weld them on for me. Since I have a Z32 and recently upgraded the brakes on it I decided to use the stock z32 calipers on the s30. The difficult part was finding the adapters to make the calipers work. I tracked down the guy on this site that used to sell the calipers but apparently he no longer makes them. It just so happened I was getting ready to go on a trip to Japan with a few Z friends. We ran into a guy over there that could source the adapters so now I'm waiting for them to arrive. As a side note we saw some very cool Zs and visited Rocky Auto and Tomei. Out with the old. More suspension goodness. Decided to ditch the stockers before I got the car running and bought a pair of 2860r -5 turbos. While on the Tomei tour I grabbed a pair of their manifolds. It's a shame they're going to be wrapped. Gotta love the strong dollar too. lol I bought a Seibon carbon fiber hood and a Retro Spec air dam. I'm glad the cf weave are close enough to look like they were made by the same company. I also ordered the Retro Spec fenders, cowl and headlight buckets in carbon fiber. The rest of the car will have a cf wrap which will hopefully all look the same. At the end of it all the goal will be to look like the Rocky Auto carbon fiber Z. Well that's all for now. Hopefully it won't be another a two years before another update.
  17. Hey guys I bought the carbon fiber fenders, headlight buckets and cowl from Retro-Spec. Unfortunately they don't make a hood so I was looking around the net and found Seibon cf hoods. My biggest question is the quality and the second is does the finish match the Retro Spec stuff? I'd like to hear from any that's running both on their car. Thanks.
  18. Ok I'm late to the party but after catching up reading this thread I must say that this is the most important thread in the history of hybridz.org. I might need to buy a second s30 just to drop this motor in!
  19. I'm interested in the carbon fiber arm rests. Let me know how much they are. Thanks
  20. I'm not sure if anyone has tried this on a s30 but here's a possibly cheaper: http://z31performance.com/showthread.php?15306-How-to-install-Z32-Finned-Cover-onto-Z31-Diff-V2Diff-Mount Obviously you'll need to either modify your existing moustache bar or purchase an aftermarket unit.
