  1. What makes you think you need a swap? I'm just curious. Rather than planning on pulling the engine right away, maybe do the suspension mods as Blueoval suggested and campaign it for a season or two. If you feel like 140 or whatever hp (cam/webbers/etc) its putting out now isn't enough, then think of ways to more power. I had a Corolla with a whopping 112Hp and around 90ft/lbs Tq, but good suspension, it was way more fun than my 300Hp Camaro with moderate suspension upgrades. Just a thought.

    cool hybrid

I just wet myself. TA Celicas are sooo cool.
  3. Rufus, that would be brilliant for the wheels that are no longer available. But keep in mind that these wheels were high tech 2 and 3 piece wheels in their day, lightweight and used for racing.
  4. Some oldskool JDM bling There are a few different sources for old japanese rims, I'll pass along some links if you need them.
  5. Wattanabes Black Racing or Wattanabe SSR Longchamps Sakura Cherry Blossoms
  6. You could be right, maybe its just the angle. Regardless, they look mint.

    JDM?

    I didn't even see that
  8. The rear doesn't look as agressive in these pics as it did in the others, but it does look very smooth and clean. Good work bro!
  9. You guys have some messed up laws in the States...

    JDM?

Ontopic - It looks like a 180SX with a Silvia front clip aka Sileighty. Offtopic - You guys should drop into the O/T forum at http://www.toyotanation.com . Its nutty, but not too nutty.
  11. Theres a scam you can pull to import some of those complete cars. In Canada we have a rule that states that a car older than 15 years can be imported without hassle. Now if you're an American living in Canada (or have an address here) then you can import the car and register it legally, then wait a set time and import it legally to the States, wait another set time and register it any which way you like. http://www.riv.ca is the Canadian body that oversees importation, compare it to the American lit and see if you can figure it out.
  12. I've driven a few of the 88-91 Corolla GTS'. They handle very well, very neutral and with good rubber and driving they don't understeer at all, but they're not meant to be drag cars, so don't expect to win every stoplight to stoplight run. Parts are dirt cheap and so are the cars. They use two different versions of the 1.6L 4AGE engine that was found in the earlier RWD GTS. The first is found in the 88-89 model and has a TVIS badge on the intake manifold, that motor is rated at around 115HP, the later motors are of a higher compression and are rated at 130HP, they don't have the TVIS badge. Avoid the SR5 at all costs, different engine/tranny/suspension/interior. I'd tell your buddy to go drive one.
  13. Dan is like anyone with a beautiful body. They just expose a little at a time to keep up the excitement. Maybe he just needs someone to slip a twenty in his garter! Looks real fine there Dan. I’m with the rest… can’t wait until the glass is in. I don't have my bank card, can I write you a cheque?
  14. I'm not 100%, but I think the MKIV 550cc injectors are high impedence and the 7MGTE are low. You might have a problem there.

Thanks guys. Davy, I know what you mean. I had a pair of 3rd gen Camaros ( '85 305/T5, '91 350 TPI/TH) and a beater '85 Corolla GTS (rusty and ugly as shit) before this car. I miss them, but gas and insurance are two reasons to step away from big cubes, and finding a clean/straight Corolla in Eastern Canada is near impossible.

Hey guys, name's Deep and I've been lurking around here for a while. I don't own a Z, although I'd like to one day. Eventually I'd like to get into a hybrid S30, possibly 3SGTE or 1JZ. But plans have a way of changing with tastes, so who knows. I'm a Toyota guy, and I hang out at http://www.toyotanation.com . Here's a pic of my current ride,
  17. I was watching it earlier, good shit.
  18. This might help in finding an unknown offset, though most are stamped on OE wheels.
