This is probably the most appropriate section I can find on the forum to post this. I'm swapping it for an RB25DET. Just need help in deciding how much to sell my motor and transmission for. I have a 1974 260Z with a 280Z motor. Below are the details of the motor. I'm thinking I should probably sell the Mukuni Triple Carbs on their own. - 280Z Non-Turbo Motor - P30 Heads - Performance Cam, Pistons and Rods - MSD Spark Plug Wires and Distributor - 44mm Mukuni Triple Carbs - Monza Header with Downpipe - Aluminum Flywheel and Performance Clutch I'll be selling it locally via CraigsList or a local 510 forum. I've been told my parts are worth some decent change but that doesn't mean much to me. I paid $4850 Canadian for the whole car. Car is in good condition. Engine is also in good running condition. It was running a little rich which as been fixed. The carbs haven't been re-built but they have been "re-tuned" by Specialty Engineering http://www.specialtyengineering.ca/ Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. Here is a link to Quiet Car/Coat. It's a long read but the end result on his RX-7 is a reduction of 13 dBA in terms of noise. He used 3 thick coats which is the recommended amount and he figures he added about 40 lbs of weight to his car. I think he only did the trunk, doors, wheel wells, and hood. I bought 2005 STi R180 diff because of this thread but I'm now going the R230 route. If you don't have an R180 diff (and need one) and want John's axle, here is your chance.

XXR and Sportmax the same thing? I was on the XXR site and saw their "XXR 002" which looked identical to "Sportmax 002". [Edit] Sportmax is now XXR.

Yeah, figure that out asap. My 260Z's horn doesn't work and I wish I had it!! Many cases where I've needed it. Now that the engine swap is approaching, I'll make sure all the things are in working order.

Hey guys/gals, Worth a try here. I am in search of a Subaru R180 LSD. I believe the WRX STi on 2004 to 2005 are the 27 spline R180 CLSD with 3.9 Ratio. And the 2006 is the 27 spline R180 VLSD with the 3.54 Ratio. I'm also searching E-bay, Craislist, and my brother knows a breaker who might be able to help. Just thought I would post in here to see what it leads to. Or if you know of one available, please point me in that direction if possible. Thanks for your time. These look very nice. I can't show interest yet as I don't have my hands on the WRX STi R180 LSD. The search begins as of now. I don't know if it has been mentioned in this thread but can a JDM R180 be used?

Stick a Nissan motor in there and you are good to go.

Did somebody say my name? lol Tightman, I think you should stick with the RB25DET. I'm about to order the R34 RB25DET through a shop here in Vancouver. This shop has their own head office in Japan. While the motor is being transported, I'm researching other things such as cooling system, suspension, Disc Brakes (which I already have .... Willwood), and differential options such as R200/R230.
