  1. 05' Charger...recommend !
  2. Nite at Dave & Busters Ontario 05'
  3. Guys ...ALWAYS remember when doing wetsanding to pay very close attension to the number of strokes you have made with EACH level of grit reduction. As a rule of thumb ,its smart to raise the number of passes/strokes/coverage/sheets per EACH grit change . Next rule (since your obviously on a gravel garage floor) Have a decently clean/stearle floor. You ,in this case, may opt for plastic sheeting weighted down to keep from bringing up dust as you work around the car as well as aiding in your buffer cord travel.( ALWAYS,when upright...have the cord over your shoulder,NOT on the car) Rule three.....ALWAYS buff with Halogen lamps set-up to show you the harshest cutter marks. This will aid in identifing the last bit of grit cut marks so you don't move ahead without seeing them first.( florescant lights can be used for haze inspection) NEVER call the job good enough until you have inspected the paint (thouroughly wiped clean) in DIRECT SUNLIGHT for perfection and do this BEFORE you think of applying ANY glazes or swirl removers. I have always found as a professional, if you cant do the job without those products....you haven't mastered the tool/buffer.But that takes a ton of seat/buffer time. SO no shame to use them as a novice, but still use the inspection to better your eye skills before resorting to them or the end result will simply wash away and you'll be disapointed and have to begin some steps again. Never allow the sanding run-off or compound compaction or excess to dry fully on the paint or crevices ....you need to HAND DETAIL crevices and hard to reach areas quickly with plenty of wetted small soft towels and a horsehair toothbrush BEFORE it makes your cars finish look like its got a bad plaque problem. I did this service for showcars and exotics fresh from the booth for 23 years and charged a great deal for it ( 250-1500.00$)due to the end results and the value it adds to any cars overall appearance. Bear in mind ....depending on the job at hand, it can encompass the better part of a full work week at times or 12-36 man hours after final inspection and detail.( this would include, jambs, glass, all affected areas and a top end wax )...with no swirl accepted. I suggest never skipping a grit level if possible and always pre-soak your sand paper in warm water and mild soap to avoid unesacary deep grit annomalies/damage. Sounds like your feeling better about the finish you have .Sorry I couldn't have caught the thread sooner. One of the reasons so many people have trouble with the wool type pads is their learning curve of temps, pressures and speed control. But they DO have their respective place. The foam is a good pad to use in between the wool and for final low friction needs.Althought the foam tends to mislead most novice eyes because the lower temps tend to leave a great deal more Glycerin and fillers behind "Wetting" the fine scratches that may have been missed and they'll show up as the fillers dry out and wash/evaporate away. The visual rewards are awesome if you have a determined eye and are tenacious too ! I have ALWAYS done my own work since I was 15.(43 now) and I SO wish a local young man would have learned the trade so I could PAY him for this labor of love.........but alas. Best of Luck gents..........Vinny sorry for the long read !lol
  4. Well the Autobacs store was unimpressive to state the least and I'm sure in its entry stateside some time ago it was more of a Japan market representation.....now days its a glorified Autozone with some somewhat rare books and decent exhaust and seat selections, some audio if your into that too. Zhadman and I enjoyed most of the evening at RB Motoring with a fellow Z enthusiast and then off to eat some good Italian food . I raced back on the 605 and then 10 to Ontario....about 35-40 minutes at 80-85 mph. Gotta get some rest to get up at AM to do it again because Zhadman and I are off to San Diego to meet up with AQUIKZ ?...Brian to look at his early Skyline project. Finally managed to meet up with some of you guys.....Its been great. I leave off back home on the morning of the 5th. Thanks for everyones hospitallity......I hope I can return some day soon. .....................Vinny

  7. Hey guys, I just now changed to a hotel with real Internet access today and wanted to say thanks , for the guys who made the trip to visit each other at Dave & Busters the other nite ! I'm seldom disapointed when I meet up with fellow HB-Zers' and this was no different this time either. I really enjoyed conversing with BARTMAN and VIOLACLEFF and also meeting ZHADMAN. My stay has been extended til Dec. 5th and I'll be in the Longbeach area this Saturday or Sunday.I leave out Monday morn. So anyone interested in another round meet-up....chime in. I'd love to meet more of you still. Its ALWAYS nice to put a personallity to a HB-Z handle as well as learn the correct pronunciation to said handle too !! LOL. For those who missed the first meet, no sweat......try again this time maybe. This just makes the internet more REAL and certainly allows folks to get a feel what we're like away from the keyboards. I'll check this thread each day til I return......later guys.....Vinny
  8. ALright guys.........I'm taking off pretty soon and just wanted to say " I look forward to meeting everyone and hope those of you who are interested continue to comunicate here as I won't have Internet most likely while out there".I'll be calling those of you who have given me their cell #'s on the 22nd eve. or 23rd daytime for the get together times. So if more of you get wind of this thread after I'm in the air...feel free to keep chatting up the numbers wanting to show up. Later HBZer's ! ..............Vinny 8)
  9. Zhadman.........looking forward to meeting up with you next week and I think your cars coming along great too. Hopefully this posting will catch those of you who want to join us for a small HB-Z get together ( whether or not you drive one there doesent matter at all) So pm or email me your phone #'s so I can call you when this gets closer to the right nite/day for all. Hope it works out...........Vinny
  10. Sounds doable to me. It appears about 5-8 of us could possibly meet up as long as no ones schedule drops a bomb.I'll def bring my digital camera. Its been awhile since I met up with any HB-Z crew.....well except for Dsommer and Pounds909 ! It has been a year or more when I met All the HB-Z guys in Rio Vista ! Cool bunch of Zer's.........yes, even Auxillery too ! One of these days I'd like to go South and meet the Va., N.C.,La.,etc. guys. They are deffinatly a passionate group......right Joel, JamieT,JamesT ?? I've got some of your phone #'s. If you plan on trying to make it.......Pm me your Cell# and I'll keep you updated once we're closer. I'll possibly be without Internet once there due to budget cuts in Hotels. Darn it ! Vinny
  11. Oh , thats right, you had mentioned spending time in the midwest !lol See ya' soon. Vinny
  12. I put a turbo V/6 VG30 in my 68' roadster instead of one of my turbo L/6's due to the simple fact that an L-series block will set ahead/in front of the crossmember and ruin, for the most part, its already great handling characteristics. The V/6 actually sat more toward the firewall and the stock old springs raised up about 2" !! I made new motor mounts and a driveshaft and started on the stainless manifolds .....but alas ,got majorly sidetracked with finishing up the green Z turbo car for a show. Always consider the handling with swaps ! Vinny
  13. Well ,looking at your car in 85 degree weather is better than looking at mine here in 25 degree temps...anyday ! lol. Everyone has to drudge through the build steps.....thats why its ALL good friend. Something for everyone. ..............Vinny
  14. We'll just stand around it and go ""'OOOOh,a Z car " lol. Sounds fine to me ......always a better pastime than staring at a T.V. Bart, I'll pm you my number. Dorifto.....will do. The Topography looks pretty interesting. Vinny
  15. Well damn.....you Kansas and Missouri boys need to post up more frequently ! I didn't even know I had you as neighbors ! Enjoy the mirrors Mike ! Your turning into a true car whore and quick ! lol.................Vinny
  16. Simply the way the wheels stay squared in the center mounting. Hub centric...........rests on the raised lip circle on the hub. Lug ......slips on center by way of the tight lug stud holes of the wheels. Six of one /half a dozen of another so to speak....... Vinny
  17. Sounds cool ! I'll be working there through Thanksgiving so sure ! Lets make" the more the merrier" ! I haven't shot a game of pool in years....so your guaranteed a win or twelve ! It won't kill me to do some driving. Vinny
  18. Maybe for fenderwell/wheel mock-up ONLY Dave. There's just way too much of a chance of things wiggling free when the surface tension isn't linear across the face of things . Dangerous is all I see there my friend.Don't do it or I'll visit you with a mean look on my ugly mug.lol. Use the washers to get a decent spacer needs measurement and I'll see what we can work up on the mill and lathe if there's no pre-made spacers that will work. I would think we could find some widths thicker than you need and we could save some time and simply trim them down to your specs ?? Vinny
