To depressurize 280Z use this link. http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/fuellinedepressure/index.html Remove the 2 screws securing the valve to intake manifold and unfasten clamp and remove valve from the fuel hose. Have a small container to catch any fuel left in the fuel hose. Reverse steps to install..... LARRY

  21. With your fuel gauge not working, take your lawn mower gas can to the gas station and fill it up, bring it back and pour it into your car's tank. Now try starting the car and don't pump the gas pedal. As I had stated earlier you have a fuel shut-off relay on your car. With no rpm or oil pressure that relay shuts off the fuel pump (like when you have no gas in it), not just to save the pump but to save you in case of an accident so that the fuel is not being pumped all over that could start a fire. Never run out of gas with a efi system because of damage it could cause to it. Next, fix that fuel gauge and get the FSM. LARRY
  22. Tracing DATSUN electrical problems is like being with my first wife...DAMN. I hope you can get everything working. That page in the section " Body Electrical System" is BE-33. lLARRY
  23. Well......First if the VR is working then it's rec. pwr. thru the blue wire ( indicated L in the diag. ) from the fourth down 10a fuse on the left side of the fuse box. That fuse gets pwr from a white with black stripe from the ign. relay. The pwr for the fuel gauge is the green wire that comes from the third 10a fuse on the left. The fuel warning lamp doesn't have to be good because that green splits before the lamp so you need 2 things. A good fuse in that slot ( third down left side ) and that the green wire is good from the fuse box to the gauge. If the heater coil is no good in the gauge it won't work. If the yellow wire to the fuel unit isn't good it won't read right. LARRY
