I'm trying to install a L28et motor in my 240Z and was wondering which head is better the P90 or the hydraulic P90A.
-
I don't know if it is the angle of the picture but looks like the front fender is about 5" above the wheel. I'm not a 100% sure but I don't think there are any aftermarket springs that lower the car more than 2". If you want to get the stance of your car right you might have to go to coilovers or be prepared to cut the springs. Also I'm assuming you know the problems associated with cutting springs.

Well today i had an opportunity to meet a ex Z car owner who had a few things to get rid off. In any case long story short he basically gave me a set of modified macpherson struts with coil overs for the front of my 240z and a bunch of other misc stuff. when i insisted on paying him he asked me for $20.

Hey guys I'm buying a SBC of craigslist and was wanting a little input on the engine in question. I am interested in motor No.1 for $500.

In his email to me the seller stated the following: "I have everything but distributor and Carb needs the valve springs put on and heads n intake bolted up and its ready to go. Also the motor has Double hump heads on it."
I am well aware that you cannot tell if the engine is worth the money or not without physically inspecting it but thought that if nothing else you guys could give me a good idea of what to looks for and what questions to ask the seller.
any and all help is appreciated.

Got the motor locally

I am hoping for some input from people who are experienced with engine building. I was wondering if this is actually possible or did they doctor the results just to give the article a happy ending. Per the article they got 407 hp at 5,900 rpm and 410 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm; if this is true this is incredibly good value for money.

I believe those specific louvers were made for S130's but they also fit earlier Z's that may help you on your search to find one and also help someone looking to sell to know where to look.
Are you sure about that information? I dont think the S130 louvers will fit a S30.
-
lol nicely done....eager to see if they fit your car.
Will you be painting them red or just leaving the CF weave visible?

Found what i was looking for.

Hi guys,
I am currently in the process of swaping a BW T5 and a R200 into my 240z. Currently my car is running the stock L24 motor with a racing cam but i would like to replace it soon with a L28et with approx 300 whp. The car is going to be a daily driver for the most.
In your opinion will the 3.70 be a better ration for the BW T5 or will the 3.90 be better. I am afraid that if i swap in the 3.90 my gears would run out too quick. Keep in mind that i will be swapping in a Turbo L28et motor soon.
-
Well i email the guy selling the kits and below is the response i got back.
I'm sorry, but the manufacturer and I had a disagreement regarding price and I will no longer be able to offer the kits.
Thank you,
Brad

I need to pull the R200 cover to confirm 3.90 gears, but I would do $125 on the rear end, $50 for the axles and shipping which will be around $80, I'm guestimating at this point, but I'm sure I'm close due to the wieght.
What car did the R200 come from and how many miles does it have on it. Also the half shafts have to be from a 75-78 280Z that had a R200 diff.
-
It would appear that i also need
(1) REAR TRANS CROSSMEMBER for the Borg warner T5
(2) a set of half-shafts for the R200.
(3) A R200 3.90
-
I'm pretty sure I have an extra 3.90. Did you find one of those?

any color other than black?

My car is painted a viper red and I need to pick a color for my front air dam, ZG flares, and hatch louvers. The logical chose would be to paint them gloss or flat black. But this combination has been done to death.
I am looking for opinions on alternate colors to paint my front air dam, ZG flares, and hatch louvers that would look good on a red car.
