Except for the mirrors, looks familiar.
  2. I once had a similar problem and solved it legally. My insurance co. (State Farm) had me obtain a bond before insurance was provided. It was not expensive and it protected the insurance co from insuring a possible stolen vehicle for 3 years. DMV took the bond and registered the car. Hanns
  3. Have you looked at the pics in my photo gallery on this site? If you need pics of specific parts or installed equipment I can take the pics and e-mail them to you or I can download them onto a CD as you suggested. Hanns
  4. It looks like there isn't a tire in the world that could handle that instant torque curve of your Z. Good Job!!! Hanns
  5. Good One........Merry Christmas Hanns

  13. O.K., another ttv8 is on the way. Will you use a hat or totally enclose the carb in a box like I did??? Hanns
  14. 525, The photos were taken by Hybrid240z. He might be able to repost them, if he still has them. I also have several pics in my photo gallery and would be willing to take additional specific photos if anyone is interested. Hanns
  15. Make sure the housing is perfectly centered on the centerline of the crankshaft or you will forever have nagging little clutch chatter or similar problems. Both of the Chevy Lakewood bellhousings I had in the past needed offset dowels to correct input shaft and crankshaft misalignments. Maybe they corrected this problem with the more recently produced housings, but there is a reason why these offset dowels are available. Hanns
  16. For streetability with your smaller carb you should have the dual plane manifold. This will allow your engine to make its power at lower rpms rather than having to rev it high for performance. I believe the 2975 is a Victor jr. manifold, which you don't want for the street. Also, keep your cam duration and compression reasonable so you can pass smog. I don't know if Arizona requires smog checks for early Z's, but maybe your car is exempt!!! Hanns
  17. Cage is not illegal, but like others have said "use padding". I've never been stopped (knock on wood) during 3 years of street driving. But I "generally" behave myself on the road and use thick padding on my cage. This negates the "sleeper" look but is worth it for safety's sake. Hanns
  18. Owen, Nice to hear from you. If I ever get my timing and fuel delivery figured out, I will go faster. But that means I will only get kicked off the dragstrip more often because I don't have a certified cage and competition license. How is your awesome Z doing? Hanns
  19. They are 14 year old Rajays' date=' 370 E 80's, that I'm borrowing from a friend. [b']I'm using twins because I like the way they balance the look of the engine department.[/b] But if I had to buy the turbos, I would have used a large single to save money and to allow a much easier installation. Then a front mount intercooler could also have been mounted. You would not like the looks of my exhaust system. In order to avoid carving up the inner fender sheetmetal, the dual 3" exhaust runs below the front crossmember after the down-pipes. Then the exhaust runs over the rear differential, through large Flowmaster mufflers and out the back. The exhaust is oval pipe which gives some clearance but I always scrape over speed bumps. Driveways and dips in the road are not generally a problem. Even if you buy used parts, turbos, wastegates, blowoff valves, downpipes, timing retard devices, big fuel pumps and fuel regulators will all add up. Before adding the turbos the Z ran 11.15 @ 123 mph, regularly. Keep that in mind while saving money for the turbo system. Hanns
  20. It could hesitate because of too rich a fuel mixture or if it is at higher rpms it could be due to insufficient fuel pressure. I haven't heard of any "stock" V8 turbo system that would fit under the hood of a Z. However, if you are willing to cut into the inner fenderwells and hood, it may fit. I placed my turbos in front of the engine because they would not fit at the sides. Look at my photo gallery for the layout. Hanns
