  3. Rayven14, am I correct in understanding that the plain CF pair without speaker panel on page 4 are for sale, albeit with a slight blemish? If so, can I have a price for the pair PM'd please? Edit - I wouldn't require any holes drilling in them, would take as is
  4. Have a word with Anwar, I can't imagine it's a huge deal to make a smooth one?
  5. Okay, I ordered the plain FRP 240z tail light surrounds and the cowling that sits behind the bonnet. I'm not a carbon *****, so FRP was fine for me. The tail light surrounds are incredibly well made, thin - 1.5 to 3mm thick depending which part of the piece is being looked at. Very uniform, stiff, no thin spots. As for weight...well one surround is 157 grams! So for both left and right you're looking about 315 grams. The last photo is of the back of the piece. Now for the cowl piece - again, FRP, weighs in at 1290 grams, not sure how much lighter than the steel piece it is, but it is certainly lighter! Back side of the piece Very stiff piece, with all the proper molding points molded i.e. the tabs that sit beneath the screen, the same goes for the lip that sits under the lip of the bonnet, all holes drilled. You can see in the photos where they've taken the time to grind back the fibreglass to form the vents properly. The odd pin hole in the paint, but it's not meant to be a final paint layer, just helps as a stopper. Very happy with the pieces! Hope this helps some of you if you're unsure, all I can say is PLEASE show some interest so Retrospec will do some fibreglass fenders!
  6. I'll get some photos up within the next few hours or so, along with weights
  7. Received both a cowling and 240z tail light surrounds today in fibreglass, UNBELIEVABLE quality. Shipping took a while but only because there was a defect in the cowling - so the fabricators made a new one from scratch rather than try send a repaired part. I have to hand it to Anwar, his people KNOW what they are doing, they really do. Will be buying from again as soon as the right parts are made!
  8. hey chap. can strip these out of mine. photos en route. UK shipping no problem...being a zcluber and all james
  9. Thanks RB, Also thanks for moving the post, wasn't sure if it should go in the vendors forum..or here..or where I ended up sticking it
  10. Tried contacting him via their contact form on the classicdatsun website to order a 3 piece fibreglass valance but I can't seem to arouse any response (several weeks I've waited) Has anyone got a direct email they could PM me so I can order some parts? Many thanks James
  11. No chance Pete does these without the speaker pods is there? I'd take a pair if they were minus the speaker hole.
  12. I'm trying to work out the maximum engine height that can fit within the S30 engine bay. Anyone have an idea on the stock height i.e. Oil cap to bottom of the lower most point of the oil pan? I have searched...but could not find anything :/
  13. Ivan, I'm really liking the finish on your suspension parts that you say have been powder coated black, is the 'stipple' effect is a result of the blasting giving the pieces a textured surface? Any details on what colour the powder coater used etc would be very appreciated, if you can coax the information out of him, the pieces done like that look PERFECT in my opinion, certainly a lot nicer than gloss. Any details would be much appreciated.
  14. Pretty amazed at that mess. You'd think in an 'age of austerity', where one's small business reputation is EVERYTHING and to preserve ones good name they'd say from the off 'I don't think we have the skills to do that, but let me recommend you someone who can'. Unbelievable, truly, respect for the chap taking the time to warn others. I'd be fuming if that happened to me.
  15. Anwar, Firstly top job on actually getting parts made and shipped with happy customers, there have been far too many 'we're going to make this' and it never happens for various reasons, props for just doing it with no fanfare. A few questions for you. Are the pieces made with UV resistant resin/lacquered to be UV resistant? I'm assuming all the CF pieces are fibreglass matting backed with 2-3 sheets of CF on top? Or are they exclusively CF sheet? If you publish weights of finished parts you'll really have some fans Ta James
  16. I just feel the need to chip in here... I live in the UK (that's England...blighty...you know...fish and chips), and I had both the hood and the tailgate shipped to me from JohnC in the States. The packing itself was a work of art, having gotten clearcoat parts, they came some 3000 miles...in mint condition, not a scratch. I gained one HUGE blanket, and quite possibly the biggest box in the entire world which I've since reused to hold my windscreen. The tailgate especially was incredibly well made, no fibreglass that carbon part...the point being. The part will fit, and it will fit perfectly. You will be proud of it. For the money, you can't get better made parts, which equally, come with the best disclaimer letter I have ever read.
  17. The drum rebuild kit was an ebay job, they pop up fairly regularly, the bearing parts also. However, you'll certainly find the bearings cheaper from rockauto.com linky here - http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1209158,pgname,Brake%252FWheel%2BHub I have searched the interwebs far and wide, and trust me, rock auto works out the cheapest, by a long shot. Hope that helps
  18. Are the rims Compomotive ML's zip? If so, could you share size and offset? Looks lovely. Brilliant save on the front end.
  19. Hey all, I'm not going to post the project here (too little time to repost the whole thread right now, but I may do in the future) but if you want an entertaining thread to follow then this is my project over on Retro Rides http://www.retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=readersrides&action=display&thread=86608
  20. I'm after either replacement TABCO or NOS Nissan (or infact whatever you have!) rocker panel ends for both sides (LH and RH) for a 70-78 240/260/280. The parts I'm looking for look like this: Anyone got any they want to shift?
  21. mossy74 - if you want the full build to share with them, it's here Project 'It worked in Gran Turismo'
  22. Hi Mossy, This is how we went about repairing mine. Chassis Rail Repair James
