  1. You're going to envy me even more, because I got the triples and Cartech turbo kit for free with a '72 240z that I also got for free Then I sold everything for ~$2,000 and then that's when the 2jz idea came along. I got a 2jz an W58 trans for free, then I realized it was way out of my budget (like you). Then that's when I wanted to get a L28et, instead I made a L28et intake fit the L24. Then I got burnt out on that and just bought carbs and a header and it should be running soon. This is all over a course of 4 years. I never even got to put the 2nd in before I changed my mind. The only boosted car I've ever driven was a '94 Supra and I fell in love. I was young and reckless then and now I've got my head on straight and know what I want to do. If I wasn't so young and reckless when I first started (I was 14 when I got my first Z) I would have turbo'd the L28 that was in my 280z and called it a day. Now I've sold all of my valuable turbo goodies and I'm back at the beginning
  2. Nice! I wish you were closer to me (I'm in Daytona) because I wouldn't mind helping Good luck with the project!
  3. Nice build, I kinda went through the same motor problem as you did. I started of with a triple carb'd turbo'd L24, then a 2jz, then a L28et, and now I got so tired of not making up my mind, so I'm running a built L24 with SU's and a header lol. Good luck with the build, and amazing Z
  4. This is the best pic I have. $30 shipped from a guy on ratsun, it feels like a legit grenade!
  5. I found the wiring diagram I needed in te FSM, turns out there's a power wire somewhere that I'm missing. I'm rebuilding my carbs right now, but tonight I'm going to look for that wire and maybe she'll be running
  6. LOL Don't get started on that. I still have the motor and trans (it was a 2jz), but I just wasn't ready for such a big project with no money
  7. Well I'm gettin my carbs today, so I'm just going to get the motor started today by bypassing the whole wiring harness. I'm so stoked, there car is finally going to be able to start for the first time in 3 years
  8. Maybe you're only threading that bottom one down. The top 2 have to come down more. Try some penetrating lube (WD40, PB Blaster, etc.) and see if it will go any farther.
  9. Nice! Yesterday I was watching Car Crazy on Speed, and they were doing an episode down in Puerto Rico. They showed a cool looking place called Volkyland, that's a Volkswagen museum, and then they showed a rally that goes on down there. You guys have some cool cars down there.
  10. Is it just me, or is the last picture the coilover threaded all the way up?
  11. Well I've changed my mind multiple times since this thread was started, and after all of that I came right back to this engine setup. I'm running my L24 with motor work and SU's. My problem is that when my harness (the one that goes to the alternator, head lights, etc.), there's no power to anything. I put in a brand new battery in, and still nothing. I can get it to turn over by jumping the starter, but when I turn the key, I get no power.
  12. Haha, I made this thread 2 years ago, and my Z still isn't running. I'm having a wiring problem and can't find some of the power wires in the harness I printed the necessary pages out of the FSM for a '75 280z, but that isn't really helping. Any suggestions?
  13. Hi, I was curious if you would be willing to PM me the dimensions for these pieces. I'm studying to become a Mechanical Engineer, and I'd like to do a rendering for a project in class.
  14. Hey, this is Shane, glad to see you made it over here
  15. Yea, that would have been cool. I actually ended up selling it to a guy in Australia. He's going to do some magical things with it
  16. Haha, thanks. It was a much needed vacation, the Z should be up and running in the next 2 weeks and then I have to insure it and register it.
  17. Thanks everyone. I'll give USPS and FedEx a call after school. HS30-H, I had a feeling I was spelling it wrong lol
  18. I'm sending an intercooler, piping, turbo, turbo manifold, downpipe, and an intake plenum. Should weigh around 40-50lbs. When I try to get a quote and put in the zip code for the place in Aus. it tells me that I'm missing digits. The zip codes in Austrailia are 4 digit not 5 digit.
  19. Hey everyone, I recently sold a bunch of stuff to a guy in Austrailia. I need to ship the stuff but I have never done it before. Has anyone done this, and want to help walk me through the process. Any help is appreciated.
  20. Haven't updated this in a while. Right now the Z is going N/A and I'm planning on selling all of the turbo parts so that I can pay some stuff off. Recently bought a 6-1 header, and a complete set of SU's for a large lump sum of $160. Also since the last update I've painted the rising sun on my hood, painted the engine bay, and finished removing the sound deadener. Hopefully the Z should be running in the next 2 weeks
  21. I'm practically done with your drawing. I just have to finish the wheels. Rota RB's are a bit** to draw.
  22. I can draw multiple cars. but right now I have 9 people already in line for their car to get drawn. I posted the same thread on ratsun and got a lot of feedback.
