  1. Now that I look closely, I see the other one. My mistake. The RHD version places them differently.
  2. Congrats on the start up Dale! I know what you mean about 2nd gear. Third is even better and 4th. Sorry no help on your dropping pressure probelm. Good Luck!
  3. Check out the single, center mounted wiper arm too. Very nice car.
  4. My cable internet provider is down and I am on a dial up connection. Sucks. I will take a buch of pictures and get them posted this weekend or as soon as the cable service is back up. Meanwhile I will be out cruising in the Z!
  5. I just picked up the Silver Bullet from the shop. I get to drive it for the weekend and see what kind of bugs pop up. Man o man is it SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETT!!! The power is amazing. What a blast to drive. I can't believe how strong the LS1 is in a Z car. The drivablilty is excellent. In all gears there is power. I can start off at a light in 3rd and it still pulls without bogging. I can cruiise in 6th around town at approx. 40MPH and it doesn't bog. I still can't get used to not having to pump the gas pedal before starting it. It feels as solid and well balanced as it did with the L28 except for the abbility to throttle steer it in corners. Woo Hoo! There are still a few things that may or may not be done in time for the Z Convention. 1. Tach. I sent it back to Johns cars to be re-calibrated. He got it today and says he will have it ready to ship on Monday. I hope so. If not, the guy (Tony) at the hot rod shop has an Autometer Tach (5") that he will loan me for the trip. 2. The speedo box I got that converts the signal from electrical to mechanical is defective and had been sent back to Abbott Industries to be repaired. They promised to have it back by next Friday. 3. The condenser for the A/C from vintage Air was the wrong size so it was sent back and the new one is shipping out today. I should have it by Wednesday. All these are pushing it to the limit for my departure. I would hate to go on a 700 mile road trip without(in order of importance): 1. Speedometer 2. A/C 3. Tach The only probelm I have found so far is the transmission. I think I got ripped off on this one. It has a hard time going into 3rd and reverse and it whines in 3rd and 6th. It will be fine for the trip but I will need to address the problem when I get back. But for now, I am so high I can't stand it. I can barely concentrate on Work. I can't wait to finish for the day, wash my baby and go for a cruise. LS1 Baby! There is no substitute!
  6. good luck, Dale. I hope your problems are few. Another LS1 Z on the way, Cool!
  7. Sorry Guys, I am pulling it off my 510 to put it on my 240Z. You can still get them from Grant!
  8. So the car is supposed to be ready today(Saturday). He tells me to get up to the shop around 10 and bring the hood. I am there at 10 and the shop is closed. So I hang out until 10:20 and decide to cruise up to Mickey D's and get some breakfast. Get back to the shop at 10:45 and still no one is there. I call him on his cell and he says he is still home. he was at the shop until 3 am working on my car. He says he will meet me there at noon. So I head home and waste some time and go back at noon. The car is sitting in the bay and he say he needs a few more hours on it. I get bummed. HE says "do you want to take it for a short cruise first and then leave it until Monday afternoon?" You don't have to ask me twice. We bolt on the hood and check the tire pressure. All is looking good. I get in the car and buckle up and fire it up. Varooooom! It fires right up. He says wait a minute and comes right back with a fire extinguisher. He say all cars that leave his shop on a maiden voyage must take one along. I like that way of thinking. So off I go up the street. I take it real easy at first. It feels great! I get it onto an open stretch of road and open it up just a little. I hit the power band and it is flying. I get onto the hwy and merge into traffic. I accelerate and shift from 3rd to 6th and cruise a while. A big hole opens up in the traffic. I double clutch and downshift to 3rd and I nail it. It pulls so hard I am thrown back in my seat. I wind it up and shift to 4th and that qwik I have to back off for traffic. I know I was doing over 100 and it was so fast to get up there. The car has awesome power in all gears. The power is instantaneous. It pulls hard in every gear. even from 50mph in 6th it still has the torque to pull fast. There are a few bugs that still need to be worked out and the a/c, and tach still need to be hooked up, but damn it is so cool. It sounds mellow at idle but certainly wakes up at 3000 or so. I cruised it for about 20 minutes and took it back. I had a grin on my face that wouldn't go away. I can't wait to drive it again.
  9. I found the answers on the Grant Website. For anyone interested: http://www.grantproducts.com/install/97526-00-01.html?Instructions=+Installation+Instructions Thanks,
  10. I have a Grant GT steering wheel with the locking/removeable hub on my dime. It was installed by the PO and I am trying to figure out how to remove the hub from the steering column. Does anyone out there know how to remove it? Once I remove the steering wheel, there is the hub and it has several allen head screws that will turn and turn but they don't seem to come out. They appear to be adjusters for the locking mechanism. Help!
