  1. Atleast there's no bids on it. HOW can you deny that friggin dent? Perhaps it's worth $1000 because it was found near an Indian burial ground and is imbued with the power to generate optical illusions. The highest bidder will immediately be taken on a spiritual journey, a vision quest, upon recieving shipment. They will discover mystical things and learn all about who they REALLY are. They will see thier spirit animal... the jackrabbit... and the jackrabbit will tell him that he, the owners totem, should be placed around the neck to show all who meet him/her that they got JACKED paying $300 for this POS hood.
  2. Thanks Doug! I heard about this problem' date=' ironically enough, from the service guys at my dealership [i']before[/i] I bought the truck! The saleswoman was pissed, but it didn't matter... I knew what I wanted. IF you come across any other information, along these lines, please let us know! You can be our man on the inside!
  3. Right on Bryan! Good to see another Titan owner in the mix... makes a perfect Datsun tow vehicle!
  4. I'm sure we've all seen stock Titans before... but this one is different... er... cuz it's mine! Lol I just ordered my custom license plate, too: RB Z RIG
  5. It was a good time... We also met up with karay240 (Ken) and his wife... and had a blast. Oh, if you guys could hear some of the conversations we had! They're probably not suited for public forums! Bart be looking pretty evil with that goatee and those glowing red eyes... But he's probably one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet... perhaps it's all a ruse, Bart?
  6. Yeah... it was a bitter-sweet moment. It was coming out of warranty (35,000 commuting miles in 1.5 years), which would have been great... had I planned on keeping it. I just didn't need another project car. The Z is my focus and I couldn't really justify spending 'performance' money on the WRX. Besides... the 'Dubya' couldn't tow a car trailer or haul an RB around, ya know? Nor could I take it out in the desert and do some small time wheeling!
  7. Well... the sticker says 14-18 mpg 5.6L DOHC V8, 305hp 379lb-ft torque I can safely tow, with the right hitch, ~ 8000 lbs... oh, and it sounds pretty nice, too!
  8. For about 2.5 years now I have been yearning to buy a full size truck (to be specific... a Titan). Up until recently I had been commuting 54 miles (one way) through peripheral LA traffic (not a gas saving affair!) so I had contented myself with the WRX (quick, fun, decent on gas). In May we moved closer to my work (Torrance) so my commute dropped to 14 miles. On my way home from work yesterday I passed by the local Nissan dealer. They had a sign advertising base model Titans for $17,9XX or $6000 off the MSRP. Called the MRS, got clearance to engage, donned my best poker face and set off to find my truck. Walked the lot for 45 minutes with the saleswoman before realizing that they didn't have any of those base model, $17,9XX trucks on the lot. Sensing her sale slipping away she started showing me trucks in the $30,000 price range. One of the trucks she showed me was a black 4x4 Kingcab... really nice... and I started to see my 'realistic maximum price' creep upwards (Danger Will Robinson, Danger!). I finally had to stop her and say: "Look, no offense, but I'm not looking for one of those. I WANT a base model and if you don't have it I'm going somewhere else... or I'll just wait 6 months." I didn't tell her, but I wasn't willing to pay anything over $23k. I'm not going to compromise our budget. Deals come and go... trucks come and go... If you wait and watch long enough you'll get what you're looking for... so I shook her hand, took her card, and said "see ya!". So we're sitting in the WRX, admiring my restraint (it's tempting to give in when you're looking at shiny things... but not always smart), when the saleswoman comes running (and I mean... she's booking it!) up to my car. I go into immediate 'wallet mode'... I dropped it and she found it... whew... that would have been bad! [knock, knock on the window] [out of breath] "Keith... uh...whew... you know that black 4x4?" [confused... I didn't sit in it... couldn't have lost my wallet there] "... yeah?" Her - "Did you like it?" Me - (frustrated now) "No... too much money... it's stickered at $31k and you're not offering the discount." Her - "What if I got it down to $22k?" I looked over at my wife and she gave me an approving smile. Earlier... when the saleswoman was in the office, on a call, my wife admitted to me that she REALLY liked that truck. But I'm thinking to myself... that's about $25,000 with TTL... over what we want. So I take a shot in the dark... Me - "IF... in 5 minutes you can get me that truck, out the door, for $23,000... we'll buy it." She groans and sprints back into the office. No Sh!t, 5 minutes later she comes jamming back out with a piece of paper in her hands. $23,500 out the door! So we bought it! MSRP with delivery was $30,000... TTL was around $3000... so we effectively got the truck for about $21,000. 2 hours later we drove our new 2005 Galaxy Black Titan 4x4 home!
  9. Where did you hear this? My understanding is that Subaru went to great lengths to ensure that the wing was functional and not just 'boy racer' cladding.
  10. This may be due, in part, to the increased price of steel. Our steel suppliers have recently changed thier pricing to reflect increased oil/fuel costs. I'm only speculating here... they could just be looking to take more of your money!
  11. Hope you guys had fun (without me! Arg)! Vince said it was a pleasure to meet all who showed up. David, Vince is actually leaving on the 30th... and I'll be heading out there this afternoon or tomorrow afternoon to meet up with him again (if you're interested).
  12. Um... Didn't you just post (a day ago) basically asking the same question? What is the point in creating a NEW post to ask the same thing?
  13. Vince is going to be out in front of D&B's at 6:30, too. He's going to be wearing his red, white, and blue nissan shirt and probably a skyline GTR hat. You won't be able to miss him.
  14. Although I have to work on Friday there is a 50/50 chance that I'll be off work in time to make the gathering. Why don't we go ahead and set the DINNER meeting time for 6:30, Dave and Busters at the Ontario Mills Mall? If you guys would like to get together before that... let me know so I can pass it on to Vinny. His schedule seems (to him) to be pretty flexible. Should we meet in front of D&B's? Maybe someone can wear a HybridZ sign?
  15. Makes me wish I had the skills to work for a defense contractor... all I have is a security clearance! Lol Those benefits sound pretty darn good. Benefits have largely been decreasing across the board as companies begin feeling the pinch. A healthy package is a great way to lure employees (especially those with families). Good luck Mike, sounds like you're off to a good start!
  16. Send a Private Message to AKWIKZ (Brian). He has 4-5 RB30 short blocks ready to be shipped from Oz. He's in San Diego... so you won't have to go far. -Keith
  17. IF I get off at 6pm I could be in Ontario by 8:00. I have to come from Long Beach
  18. I JUST found out that I have to work on Friday, Saturday AND Sunday! I'm scheduled 6am to 6pm on Friday! Don't know how I'm going to work this one out.
  19. When do you have to go look at that 260? Perhaps you could set that up for friday afternoon. BTW... where IS that 260?
  20. UPDATE I talked with Vinny today and he has no internet access... so I have volunteered to be the 'Event Coordinator'. His hotel is located right next to the Ontario Mills mall... so I have suggested to him that Dave and Busters would be the best meeting place (great thinking Bart!). It's (basically) centrally located to the majority of individuals wanting to meet up and will save Vinny from having to rely on his Thomas Guide to try and get around. Is Friday good for everyone? What time works for you guys (keeping 15 traffic in mind for the Corona guys)?
  21. Yep and I'll be in Kentucky January/February of '06! Fun stuff.
  22. Oh I know what you're saying... 6 years in Oklahoma has taught me to appreciate the SoCal climate!
