  1. About flares from MSA and 'Black Dragon': Both companies used the same supplier for thier fiberglass flares: Wings West. Wings West was recently bought out and the purchasing company no longer wishes to produce fiberglass parts for Z-Cars. What does this mean? It means that neither company can get any flare other than the ZG's. So... although the products are still listed in thier respective catalogs they are, in fact, NLA. I have a front set of IMSA flares and I wanted to purchase the rears... no go. MSA is apparently trying to get thier hands on the molds, but it will likely be some time before they offer anything other than the ZG. *sigh* I really wanted to get my hands on rear IMSA's
  2. First things first. RB is not associated with Motorex. An ex-employee of Motorex (Sean Morris) does provide them with Skyline related technical assistance, and they do have several Skylines that came from Motorex, but that is where the connection ends. They have been doing thier best to support alot of the Motorex customers who were screwed over by Hiro. Ah... Katrina. Kenny is currently the only member of the RB staff who works continuously on the Skylines (suspension work, engine re-building, parts sourcing...etc). He is even more busy now that the Automotive Forums R34 race crew is on the road (they helped out on some of the work). He previously took ALL the calls and did most ALL the work... so they hired Katrina to help out. Kenny was likely pretty busy and was unable to come to the phone. Doesn't sound like she handled it the right way... but I wasn't there. What specifically did you want to know? Kenny is one of my best buddies and I am at RB quite frequently (helping when I can)... I can get you the answer to your questions pretty quickly.
  3. Swing axle VW's have an issue that need to be considered if you're thinking of drifting one. You will need to run a camber stop to prevent a rear wheel from folding inward during extreme driving. You would probably have to do alot of work to the pan to get it strong enough to handle what you'll put it through while drifting. Any baja cage should give you sufficient strength and keep you a tad safe as well. BTW... I own a '67
  4. Maybe they're trying to lure in those who enjoy porn? When I saw the article heading I was, quite naturally, intrigued. Doesn't sound as fun as I thought!

  6. Looks like there are quite a few of us with the same idea! My setup appears to be identical to DavD3's and bolts directly to the headlight bucket. I used a large washer on the rear to help capture the spoiler, too. Bumper no longer uses the bumper brackets and affords ZERO protection. BTW DavD3... Beautiful car!
  7. Judging by the leaf springs, wheel-style, and the chrome molding I'm guessing that that is a classic domestic vehicle. For those who believe that 'ricey' things are limited purely to import vehicles... here's your wake-up call! Pretty ingenuitive... I never would have thought of something like that!
  8. @ katman Maybe they are super-duper-secret-squirrel C-5's that were re-fitted at an equally secret-squirrel facility?
  9. Not that I'm disagreeing (and I'm definately not taking offense), but here's why: So, for the most part, individuals only have the internet to fall back upon as a resource... and the internet is full of mis-information. Sure, there's an enormous wealth of RB tuning information in Japan... but like Matt said: I have several RB-specific books that appear to contain alot of good information, but alas... I can't read Japanese! There are always those that think they know everything, but have little or no usefull practical knowledge. Matt should most definately be thanked for sharing his knowledge and experience.
  10. Errr... it's a drift car (Formula D / D1) and is heavily sponsored. It's supposed to look like that and it is not intended for street use. If it was an 89 Honda Accord I would agree with you. But it aint!
  11. Official and un-official rumors have Nissan releasing an HD Titan in 2007. Supposed to have 5.5L Turbo Diesel, an 8-foot bed, and is geared to compete with the domestic 3/4-ton offerings. I sincerely hope that these rumors come true. I believe Nissan is expecting the 'bed extender' to compensate for the lack of a current 'longbed' version.
  12. Man... You could do a whole movie like that. It was a tad hard to see... but damn funny! L28?.. No Sh*t
  13. Why do you say that "it's way stronger than the RB26"? Beware what you read on the mis-info-net
  14. That's exactly where I was at. I knew I had heard about it... but couldn't remember where.

  17. Thanks Mike... now I don't feel so alone!
  18. Being a HybridZ member I pride myself on being pretty swap friendly. I have my own opinions, naturally, and there have been times where I've had to turn on my WTF-Face and turn OFF my WTF-Fingers. Just because I won't do it doesn't mean someone else shouldn't! Now, that being said... I was cruising the internet today trying to find some pics of Chris Forsbergs new ride. It's a 350Z vert powered by a VK56. Alot of the work is being done by LS Automotive (http://www.LSauto.com) and it's pretty spiffy-neat-o. Here's a pic: During my search I came a across this post: http://www.automotiveforums.com/t318550-engine_swaps_we_like_and_hate_.html While reading throught the post I found something that really bothered me and I can't turn my WTF-Fingers off! I don't know what bothers me more... the above statement... or my horrified reaction (which I'm not ready to discuss). Am I but a hypocrite in Hybrid clothing?
  19. The price seems a bit steep for me, but I would like to see a set in person to evaluate the quality. Fit and finish are my key concerns.
