  1. I can tell you that the fuel injection wiring harness comes out all in one piece. That alone will remove a big chunk of waste if its still under the hood.
  2. The LT1 are getting cheaper, I would not rush it, you will be sorry later. I paid $3000 for my LT1 with T56 and drove 8hrs to get it. I Just saw a motor and trans in the paper for $900.00
  3. Great Thanks. I have tons of pics and nobody has the tray slid open so I could what was inside. As you can guess mine is empty..
  4. Does anyone know if that hole in front of the console was for a ash tray? I have never seen one yet. I found one for sale on E-bay and they have it listed for 240-260-280. I don't think this is correct. Can anyone set me straight?
  5. I bought a gasket kit from to intensense restoration. I have installed the front and it went in fine and looks good. I do not know how much better the oem is but I'm not unhappy with this after market gasket. I bet the other after market are just the same
  6. I would turn your exhaust so it points down, I could see some bad luck messing you over..
  7. I had that same cooler on my 95 LT1. I did remove it. I don't rememer excatly how I did it but it was easy. After you remove it look over the parts and you should figure it out..
  8. find a good body car, buy it, drive it and if you want to do upgrades as money comes in do it. Go slow, make plans and you will find every question you need answered somewere on this site or by a memeber who will be glad to return the help they received in the past.
  9. In my option, if you are looking to buy a late model car and pay someone else to keep it running you better have some money. Or get interested and start learning to maintain your own car. I know my car inside and out, I enjoyed learning and making my own decision on what I wanted to fix or upgrade. I installed a V8 into a 280Z and I'm proud of it. When I show it off I don't have to tell people I bought it that way. Also I know its done right. Later I want to install heads and a Cam to increase HP, than nitro or a turbo. This all will cost and take lots of time. That’s the best part! If you find a well done V8 with a well done body it will cost you $10 plus. That is what I have into my car and I got the car free.. It adds up real fast. A 30 year old car needs almost everything replaced. At least everything cleaned and re- lubricated..
  10. Again, I placed mine on the set back plate, take it out, go to the hard ware store, get the proper tap and drill bit, 10 mins later you will be done!
  11. I know how you feel. It probably will not be the last time you get so frustrated with the car... Let it sit, work on something else, maybe take it to a transmission shop and some input? I bought a used 95 motor and T56, have had it for 4 years and not yet tried 5th and 6th, so cross your fingers I could have the same problem. One good note, you now know a lot about this transmission, you WILL get it figured out.. and if you ever have another trans problem you will probably solve it quickly...
  12. You can see its not done completely, but I worked very hard at making sure I matched wire colors. This is my car, it may help you make desidision. But send me an email address so I can send you the original 78 diagram and a copy of this one as a TIFF..
  13. There is no one answer... I can help you, I have installed a 350 into a 78 Z. I have made a wiring diagram and it should help you out. I have a 78 280Z diagram also you can have. Anyway, you will spend many hours studying your diagram and your car. I can give you some huge pointers. But to just tell you what to do, no one can do that.
  14. Can you post a pic of the tail piece, I too have a Z that is ready to be painted this weekend the same bright yellow..
  15. Here is a pic of what I think you are looking for..
  16. Just emailed you a bunch of data on drive shaft angle. Than noticed you asked about linking them not lineing them up.. Opps! LOL
  17. That was definitely the most extreme burn out I have ever seen! How can I get a copy of the video???
