  11. thats what im intending on doing with the axles(putting them in my 78). if the u-joints dont match up i have the whole rear subframe of a N/A 2 put into the turbo chassis if the axles alone dont fit....im hoping i dont have 2 do that because thats allot more work, but i will if i have 2.
  12. i have a turbo 81 280zx but i wanna use the CVshafts for me 78. I have Ujoints from a 82-83 will they just blot on after i take the CV's out?
  13. ok so ill hook water up 2 those lines then...? the turbine has a little play in it does that meen its on its way out? should i get it rebuild or will it last long enuf just 2 put it on for a little while? it has just a little play in it not allot but it should prob have none right? :Matt
  14. there for the waste gate? i have the same plastic tube's they bend down so that wouldnt make sence if it was for water? i wonder how it works for the waste gate? i guess ill just block them off since my old one doesnt have them..... :Matt
  15. so its a 50/50 if i do it i guess, ill take a good look at where i can bring the coolant from, i guess they have 2 flow the right way or it will just sit water in the center housing... hmmmm thanks for the replies guys :Matt
  16. wow coolant lines? the turbo looks exactly the same as the one i took off it just has those"coolant line's on them. it also has the oil line of course. can i run this turbo without hooking these up? or should i run some coolant too them? :Matt
  17. i just bought a 81 turbo 280zx auto. the turbo is blown so i took it off 2 replace it. i have another turbo off a 83 i think and it has 2 90 deg plastic tubes comming off the center housing the turbo that i took off doesnt have these. what are they and where do i hook them up too? can i block them off? is it some kind off vent? thanks :Matt

  21. wheni pulled the plugs after running it for a while the were all the same across all cylinders, could all the injectors be bad equaly? thats hard 2 beleve. im thinking its more AFM if im going 2 take off the injectors im going 2 get new ones thanks for your post CozyZcole
  22. Ok long storie short I did a full tune-up car seems 2 run fine but it blows black smoke when idling and allot more when i rev it up. Is it the AFM i think thats all it could be, ive read some posts about adjusting it(AFM) but be for i try that i wanna see if there might be something i missed? thanks: Matt
  23. oh kool thanks for clearing that up. As soon as i get my car up and running and make sure everythings solid then on goes the turbo and MSD and all the other things i need NOT 2 blow up the motor. If i do make a mistake i have a 82 N/A motor that has been off the road for 10 years so the bottom end should still be good. But thats worst case. I wanna take baby steps and make it nice and solid so i dont blow-up when im chewin up some lame honda or drifting in the middle of nowhere 8)
  24. wow thanks for all the info guys, now i have a better idea of what 2 do. I cant wait 2 dig into my car. good thing i got an extra block if anything goes wrong i think im going with the sto k setup with the rrfpr like Bastaad siad it sounds like the best way 2 go.
