  1. Does anyone know a source for the silver trim bezel for Autometers? I'd like to keep the two factory combo gauges, replace the clock, and add 5" tach&speedo. I'll just print out matching "Autometer-ized" overlays for the Datsun parts. I love the look of the aluminum bezel in the dash, but want to keep it consistent on all gauges.
  2. yeah, I was going to say '80s Buick Somerset, so I found some pics. My buddy had one and it would not die, even when we tried:biggrin:.
  3. Whoa, the tie fighter wing comment was a joke...
  4. Hmmm, very good point Grumpy. Coincidentally, I just got hooked up with a machinist that will do it for $100.
  5. Man, where were all these Z's when I was there? All I got to see was an R33...
  6. Rick, if you lived less than a day away, I'd let you borrow my '03 Cobras with 315 DR's just to see it! After all, they are just taking up space for now... Your car is turning out awesome, and it wasn't too shabby to begin with. Maybe I missed it, but how do you plan on filling out those wheelwells? Keep it up. Oh, and a super combat triple stack tie fighter wing would look bitchin'
  7. so, anybody try this on Aluminum heads? I have some AFR's that have damage from a rogue valve. Nothing structural, mind you, but it will cost me $300 to have it welded. Any ideas on this stuff holding up to combustion?
  8. I've been following the various threads on lights. While checking out some VW stuff I ran across (Scroll down about three pics...) . The housing has been made to fit a standard 7" opening. It looks very much like some sketches I've seen someplace I can't find any more info though. Hopefully someone else will have better luck.
  9. NeedForZ, I'm pretty sure someone makes a copper head gasket for the Jag v12. Actually, I'm positive- PAECO makes one for anything odd or foreign. Machining the copper gasket is do-able, and I've read about it being done for unorthodox bore sizes. With that being said, I wouldn't want to be that one that had to do it...
  10. Nissan experimented when developing the Z32 and made the shift knob heavy intentionally. They did it to improve shift feel. I have the Road & Track book that details the 300z program, there is about a paragraph worth of a Nissan engineer expounding on the why. (I'd scan it for you, but it's in storage) I personally prefer the old school Mr. Gasket chrome ball knobs, they're just the right size and nicely weighted. They are also dirt cheap at swap meets...
  11. Tim, I just Paypal'ed for one Large Shirt.
  12. Yep, I just tried a few days ago. Your site gets some love. It's cool to see you aren't letting it die. -Now I can't remember what I was looking for!

    pics of car

So, "2126", maybe I'm just blind, but nowhere on this thread is the specific type of header mentioned. ...help me out here. If you're pointing out the obvious installation of a Ford small block into a Z... c'mon.

    Intake 2

Another shot of the intake. Upper TB plenum easier to see here.
  15. Grumpy, Thank you very much! Those links are just what I've been looking for. I am a big fan of the Bowling & Grippo page, but have only seen one of the others and lost the link. When I get the chance to visit my storage space, I'll measure and compile all the data on my Roush intake. I can't find any hard data on it. The Roush techs cry "proprietary knowledge & design", and won't tell me a thing. -I just want to know how to best optimize my engine setup. I'll post my findings when I'm through. It should be interesting.
  16. Opposable thumbs rule... The metal shall bow before you!
  17. Datsunlover, These are the current model Si seats, right? For that kind of money, you may have a friend in Connecticut, too!
  18. Early '90s Acura Integras have some really great factory seats. Look for the pre-projector light cars, I believe '90-93. They are very close to a Flofit, but with more side bolstering. I put a set into a friends Mustang, and they always get comments. (can't find the pics, unfortunately) I think we paid $35, in like new condition. Plus, I know how much you love raiding the junkyard
  19. Rufus, that's beautiful. (You will now receive 4000 dweeb PM's and emails asking you to sell them) I was really liking the ground, bare metal look. I'd love to see an entire Z body like that.(in the .024 sec before it rusted away) -Again, inspiring work. Keep it up.

    03 Cobra Wheels w/DR's

Nothing yet, Jaime! I'm planning on Ground Control coilovers. I'm sure I'll have to juggle spring & perch heights to get it right, but others have done similar widths before. Until things start getting bolting together, I won't know if spacers will be needed. I'm still up in the air over front tire sizes. I want 275's, but they will probably be a bear if I don't add power steering. Anything less than that might end up being horribly unbalanced F/R for a front engine/rear drive car. Uhh, pretty much I guess I'm saying I have no answers...yet.

    03 Cobra Wheels w/DR's

17x10.5" '03 Cobra replica with 315/35/17 Nitto Drag Radials. These are steamrollers just waiting to pulverize some CV's! The fronts are 17x9", no tires yet.

    Whale of a Truck

Cal Z whaletail on my truck. Amazingly the curvature matched almost perfectly to my roof. -Good for a few laughs.

    California Z Quarter

the California Z Quarter panel. I think I'll ditch the cute 'lil upper scoop. The 315's should fit... YZ quarters are biting at this one's heels. Tough decision.
  24. Ahh, the 70's, when ruining the front end of vehicles was fashionable! ...Something I will have to undo. Ideas will be accepted, send 'em in! Square headlights!?! (grumble, grumble)
