  1. Ooops, bad memory. I checked it out, the ones on the car that MSA sells are the "Super Turbo", and the baby turbo is a different style. Sad part is, they are on my 280 in the barn.
  2. Those are Vitaloni "Turbos". There is/was a "Baby Turbo", if you are concerned about the size.
  3. Strotter, I feel your pain. As a guy who's in his 30's, I unfortunately must let the young guys here know that B.S., particularly when combined with cars, is nothing new. It is something that has infuriated me since, well... as long as I've been into cars. I have no idea why it is such a big phenomena. It isn't limited to rice-boi-gtr or the hot rod guys. I'm sure it even exists in the Volvo and Hyundai performance world (did I just say that?). Maybe 1/3 of the time it's just innocent dummies, who want to believe they have a car that is soopa-fast. -Harmless, but also clueless. The other 2/3 are attempting to pull one over on everyone. They tend to rely on that other third. They will not immediately recognize that you know something, and will blindly continue on if you don't give any indication. These guys are easy to spot by their behavior around what I like to call the "old guard" (the old guys that have breathed this stuff since the 50's or 60's) . They usually just keep their mouth shut, and soak up every little detail they can get from the guys that have been there, and regurgitate upon those that know less to impress. The key is to know more. Be well rounded. You can always spot them if you a little about everything. Pick up Hot Rod or PHR. Read it. Don't shy away from Sport & Compact, Grassroots Motorsport, or Hot VW's. Hell, keep track of 4x4 stuff too. It all is related, and can eventually help you to make what you want. The end benefit of screening the douches? You find the real guys. Never underestimate the importance of surrounding yourself with good people. The guys that aren't full of it, are also the guys that will end up helping you when you need a hand. They will not be the ones that suggest some cock-a-mamy fix, and leave when everything goes wrong.
  4. That is still a good deal. Changing a clutch and seal with the engine out will also be easier. Do you not want this engine? What are you still doing here? Go get it!
  5. That has got to be a joke. I hope.
  6. Doesn't the powdercoating interfere with heat transfer out of the caliper? Is there a specific powder formula for brakes with, say, metal particles or something similar. I know I've seen that for intake manifolds.
  7. Evildky, I'm not sure what you mean there? I suspect he has a 94-up hub. I've owned several generations of Mustangs. Here's the rundown: *93 Cobra R's were 5 lug, but not the normal 93 Cobras. Several of my friends bought 93 Cobras new, and I worked on them- definitely 4 lug with an odd offset. 93R parts are now down to NOS, if he's modifying those instead of selling them I'd be surprised. The 93 Cobra R is extremely rare. *First gen 6 cylinders were 4 lug, while the V8 cars were 5. *69-73 were 5 lug *Mustang II (74-78) were 4 lug. *Fox body cars (79-93) were 4 lug, other than the SVO and Cobra R *All SN95 cars (94-03) were 5 lug *The current Mustang is 5 lug also Not trying to flame, just keeping the info correct.
  8. Brad, there was no 5 lug on the Mustangs until '94. Make sure you find out what those hubs are from if you ever want to find replacement parts down the road. Keep this thread updated with your progress!
  9. Awesome pics Zero. Now spend that spare two bills you saved on paint! ...Not that there's anything wrong with the suede look. (I'll have it soon enough)
  10. Rings should match the KA pistons you use.
  11. Hey Zero, it looks like we're either mirror buddies, or we will be crying on each other's shoulders . I just won these on Ebay, also from the land of green curry, but from a different Ebay seller. The similar background in our pics has me worried... But, I've bought parts from Thailand before with no issues. I'm crossing my fingers. I got a slightly better deal, but I think I lucked out and won't rub it in. I still just can't stomach $300 for the original friggin' mirrors. Ridiculous. Definitely post some pics if you get them mounted. I won't be able to get mine on the 240 for about a month.
  12. Thanks guys! You've made me a believer, and saved me a ton of cash to boot. I guess there's a reason they make those things after all.
  13. Fastzcars and DavyZ, are all the caps out there the same? Fast, your dash looks perfect. Where did you buy it? If my 240 dash ends up looking like that, I'll be ecstatic. It came with a terrible looking half-cap. I thought they all went bad in the sun. Thanks for the tips.
  14. The great part is they make every one of us look like assclowns to anyone that sees that video. It's one thing to be an assclown and screw up your car. It is a completely different story when you do it in front of an audience of "normal" people, and prove to them just how dangerous performance is. I'm sure a few parents in that line of traffic had their opinions reinforced.
  15. Here's the part where you get bombarded with questions:burnout: What size pipes? what mufflers? crossover?(h or x or none) I've been thinking about doing the same thing. Can you get someone to tape a run from outside the car? I'm really curious about this setup. I really like the scream when you are fully into it, it's pretty angry! Have you thought about putting a resonators beneath the trans to cut down on the drone? I planned on using Moroso spiral-flows instead of the usual glasspacks or "bullet" style.
  16. The funny thing is, I'm pretty positive that was the largest non-nuclear explosion (until recently). The pic definitely surprised me
  17. ZFury, where did you find that explosion pic? I may have been there...
  18. Grumpy, I completely agree with you. I, of course, am guilty of stockpiling parts for years while I figure out which way to go with a car. Which is worse though: Enthusiasm/getting a car finished or OCD? -Still making my mind up on that one. The other big point in your friends case is that a great many SBC:p(Chrysler) parts do not interchange b/w 273-318-340-360. You really have to watch it, or you end up with useless parts come upgrade time. Summit drove that point home when I picked up an intake for my friends Valiant, and the bolt holes wouldn't line up. Turns out it was for a 360, not a 318. The sales-kid argued that I told him it was a 360. Umm, yeah. But, I digress. He'll learn. Sometimes people take a few lumps until they figure out they are ignoring helpful advice. Then you get the I told you so points.
  19. Deja, just emailed you. Thanks!
  20. I got this list from someone else. I added a few oddballs I found, and cleaned up the layout and format a bit. 21. If you use Firefox, get the "VideoDownloader" extension. It rules. Sometimes you have to make them .flv vids and watch them with Media Player Classic, but I've had good luck using that with Down Them All. You can dl vids from Youtube, Google, Streetfire, Putfile -just about any video posting site.
  22. OTM, Arizona Zcars used to sell a box fender kit much like your sketch. (Not like the ones in those pics...yech) Maybe the new owner of the molds will produce them if encouraged. I don't have any pics, but someplace I have an old paper ArizonaZcar catalog from way back. If I can find it , I'll scan it.
  23. I found this commercial compilation on google. Amazing stunt driving and car choreography. Man, why aren't there any Z commercials like this?!? I would love to see the pile of totalled Isuzu Gemini it took to make this. Gemini Pirouette
