If your bleed valves are on the bottom, you might be able to swap sides so they will be on top. ritrebor

Since you replaced the rear caliper, make sure the rear caliper bleed screw is at the highest point of the caliper. If not you will get a soft pedal as you can't get all the air out. Not sure what the black stuff is on the front caliper since the boots are ok. ritrebor

I would check the brake booster and vacuum line to it. Sounds like you got a leak. ritrebor

Maxima rear caliper hardware

Believe they go on the caliper and the disc pads ride on them. Let me know how it goes as I am having trouble getting the rear to bleed properly. Can't seem to get the pads to grip the rotors good. ritrebor -

That looks like the correct 79 280zx MC. The later ones have the mounting tabs horizontal. ritrebor -

Did you use all the sheet metal screws to mount the dash to the metal frame? Since the foam dash is old & brittle it puts too much pressure on it and it cracks. I found the key to only use 2-3 screws around the bottom to hold it to the frame as it is not going anywhere once it it mounted. Stopped my cracks. ritrebor

Thanks for the lead but I am looking for something to fit my small budget. ritrebor

Still looking. ritrebor

When I did my dash like the OP, mine kept cracking before i was done. I did mine about 10 times over. I found that by taking out all but 3 or 4 screws to hold the dash to the metal frame it stopped the cracking. Seems that all the screws put a lot of pressure on an old brittle dash. Mine hasn't cracked since I did it. Going on about a year now. ritrebor

ON the AtlanticZ wiring diagram it shows an Steering lock switch that is connected to a relay. 2 wires coming out of it. Right above the combination switch diagram. Was thinking it also could be a key warning switch but couldn't find it on the diagram.?? 3chev

Steering lock switch? ritrebor

What do these 2 wires connect to? 77 280z attached to the ignition switch. Thanks in advance. ritrebor

That's what I did. I ran the line from the trans to the trans-cooler in the radiator than to an external dual pass trans-cooler mounted in front of my radiator than back to the trans. ritrebor

Haven't done too much to the car lately as I ran out of room in my warehouse. Found this on craigslist. Guy bought it but never set it up. 6,000lb 4 post lift. Perfect for my Z. Now I have more space and it will be easier to work on the Z. ritrebor

Thanks for the imput. Guess I will have some illuminas for sale. Didn't go coilover as I already have the springs and struts. Thanks again. ritrebor

Anyone?

Trying to decide on my front strut set-up. I have Tokico Blues in the rear and have a set of Blues and a set of Illuminas for the front. Eibach lowering springs all around. The car is 77z V8 Auto, mainly for sunday cruises. Might drag once in a while, but that's about it. Which front struts should I go with and why? ritrebor

Went shopping again today and picked this up. I like this one better as it's fully polished and goes well with the weber set up. Will be selling the unpolished one. ritrebor

Pictures of the fiberglass hood, Msd 6al ignition, and billet trans-cooler to suplement the one in the radiator. ritrebor

Decided to stay with the small block and am selling off my big block stuff. Picked up some new induction systems and not sure what I will end up with. Found a polished tunnel ram with nitrous lines under the manifold. Also picked up a B&M blower with 40DCOE Webbers. Leaning towards the B&M blower set up with twin webers as I might be able to fit it all under my hood. Also picked up a fiberglass cowl hood so hopefull everythng will fit under it. Starting to look like a speed shop. LOL ritrebor
