  1. Took some more pics of the fuel cell mount. ritrebor
  2. Thanks! Picked up a 16gal RCI cell last year at a swap meet. Followed the information I got here and started cutting. Built a frame from 1†steel tubing to enclose the cell and battery. Used 20ga sheet metal to enclose the cell and battery. Painted it all with Por15. Picked up a billet battery holder on Ebay to house the Optima battery. Got a Jegs trunk battery cable set. Had to relocate the vent to the rear corner so I can put a cover over the rear to carpet. Plan to put a billet flip cap to be able to gas it up. I left the floor risers in so I can hopefully put a stereo amp under the cover and still have my rear cargo area. Cost wise Cell 75 Battery 100 Billet battery holder 50 Battery cable 15 Steel tubing 25 Sheet metal 30 An fittings Lots $ Was able to sell my gas tank so it wasn’t so bad. Now I hope to be able to run dual exhaust. Will try to get more pics. ritrebor
  3. Finally finished my fuel cell and battery setup. ritrebor
  4. Don't remember how much I had cut off from the TH350 to fit the 700r4 but the drive shaft is 19-1/2" u-joint to u-joint. Thanks ritrebor
  5. Put the motor back in with the 700r4 trans and got the drive shaft shortened. Am also in the process of rewiring the car. ritrebor
  6. Finally finished my dash. Also installed the gauges and switches. I used this post in reparing the dash. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?showtopic=57194 One trick that I learned the hard way was to only use about 6 screws to screw the foam to the steel frame. It kept cracking after I painted it. Did it about 10 times before I figured it out. Hasn't cracked in about 6 months. The red and amber switches in the center is for my electric fan and electric fuel pump. The other 2 on the left side are extras that I haven't found a use for yet. ritrebor
  7. Thanks for the complements. Cable, Yes that was me. If you still have the headers I might be interested in it. Mitch, The only problem that I had was massaging the trans tunnel with a BFH to fit. And I believe the 280 tunnel is wider than the 240. I used SEM bumper repair on the dash and their texture coat. Ended finishing it up with truck bed lining. Modern, Yes I figured out it’s not a 240 but probably a 77 280. I guess the give away was the ECU that I took out. Its titled as a 72 so it looks like the PO changed a few things. ritrebor
  8. I picked this up at harbor freight and it works on getting the spot welds off. ritrebor
  9. Have pics of your rear end set up? thanks ritrebor
  10. Had a Jackson gear drive in my 350 chev and went with a roller timing chain. Didn't like the whine the gear drive made. ritrebor
  11. Very clean engine bay. I would also be interested in how you did the rearend. ritrebor
  12. Changing the transmission from a TH350 to a 700R4 so I can have overdrive. Also have a 3000 stall converter installed. ritrebor
  13. Been working on the engine. Just general cleaning, painting and adding the shiny stuff. ritrebor
  14. Cleaned up the engine bay and got rid of all the useless wiring. Painted it with POR15. Couple of before and after pics. Ready to put the engine back in. ritrebor
  15. Rimal: That paint job looks great. Big improvement from when I saw it last. Might have to check out the body shop class. ritrebor
  16. Ups showed up the other day and dropped of this so I wont have to reach over to roll up the passenger window. ritrebor
  17. Buy the way here is the original engine that I took out and am reinstalling back into the white car. Since I am going to change engine location I might as well change out the Turbo350 and put a 700r4 in so I will only have to cut the driveshaft once and have overdrive. Got the mounts from another Hybrid member. Also will be adding a few more dress up items on the engine. ritrebor
  18. Luckly in my quest to finish my Z, I picked up a few other Z's. Eventually I just want one Z but once you get the bug there is no going back. Maybe the 454 can go into the primer Z that I picked up from a member here. Primer one is a 73 240z roller and the orange one is also a 73 240z and I am the second owner and is all original. Plan on just getting the orange one running and sell it. Too nice to rip apart. ritrebor
  19. Went out to buy a mini starter to fit the new mounting position and look what was attached to it. Came with the starter. 454 out of a motorhome with a blown head gasket. Numbers come up as a 4 bolt main with oval port peanut heads. Decisions, Decisions. LOL ritrebor
  20. Did some shopping on craigslist. LOL ritrebor
  21. Finished the dash repair and adding autometer gauges. ritrebor
  22. Got my SRT4 Viper seats and would appreciate a pic of the mounting bracket. ritrebor
  23. Forgot to mention. When I was reparing my dash I kept getting new hairline cracks while I was working on it. I thought tightening all the mounting screws would keep everything secure and tight but I was wrong. I took out all but 2 mounting screws to let the foam dash float on the metal subframe and it seemed to eliminate new cracks from forming. ritrebor
  24. Thanks looks like I was too late. Still looking. ritrebor
  25. Thanks keep us informed. ritrebor
