  1. When I was fixing my dash I found that my foam was hard and brittle. Probably from years in the sun and age. The foam would split and start to separate and would start to split the outer vinyl covering. Short of replacing the foam I guess you could make the outer vinyl as soft and plyable as possible. Here is a youtube video showing how they redo dashes. ritrebor
  2. Here is the Autometer Speedometer that I am using. It has a resetable trip odometer. ritrebor
  3. +1 for white lithium grease. That was what we used to use on the door hinges. ritrebor
  4. That's about all you could do as I believe it's the foam under the top layer of the dash that is hard and brittle and is starting to split. Just redid my dash and after about 10 times I got all the cracks out. They start out small and start to split wider. Not a lot you can do to stop that. ritrebor
  5. Added a B&M Megashifter. This installation started to snowball as the linkage on the trans interfered with the headers. In checking everything out I would have to reroute the exhaust to clear the trans linkage. Since I was going to reroute the exhaust pipe maybe now would be a good time to change the motor mounts to fit the chassis better. The original mounts were home made ones that did not fit well. The headers interfered with the headers so the PO solution was to grind down the steering shaft. LOL. Also the exhaust would hit the rear trans mount as they did not allow enough clearance. So on with the remodel.

  10. Picked this 72 240Z up in July 09. It already was converted with a 350 Chevy and a turbo 350. It has a R200 rear. God awful interior. Going to use it as a Sunday cruiser. Let the mods begin. ritrebor

  15. Just did mine. I used a cheap 2" putty knife that had a blade that went all the way through the handle and a rubber mallot. The putty knife is great as it will bend and not puncture the floor metal. ritrebor
