  1. You're killin' me, Alex! Oh, and in America you can sue whomever you wish... doesn't mean you won't be setting yourself up for a counter suit, or that you will win your own suit. If someone wishes to piss their money away on ignorant issues that cast one's ignorance off on other's, so be it... Guess it "IS" the Amorican way! Mike
  2. So I says to my business partner and best buddy Barry "Next Tuesday, the 7th is my Bday and I'm gonna go Dirtbike riding... Wanta go?" So of course, Barry who has raced Pikes Peak, races supermoto and harescrambles say "Uh hell yea"... So we pick up another buddy along the way and today we head out to a trail I've never been to... It's called "Taskers Gap" Here are video clips others have shot... http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=Taskers+Gap&rls=com.microsoft:*:IE-SearchBox&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7GGLL_en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=IuNTSvmDItW8lAewzNnlCA&sa=X&oi=video_result_group&ct=title&resnum=4# We rode for 4 hours... All was going well... I was in a fast right hand sweeper, that transitioned to the left and I was leading into the berm when it "broke". The F'n Berm just went AWAY!... GONE... See ya... Enough of you bastards been riding me to hard, so I"m just gonna break away NOW. I hit so hard, and so fast that there was no warning... No time to think "this is really gonna hurt on my 43rd BDay..." JUst WHAM... Ugh... OUch... PAIN... Sliding in rocks... I'm in 3rd gear when I went down, so I'm guessing I was clicking along at above 30MPH... Pretty good fall... My fat little arse has rash on the left side and I'm really gonna feel it tomorrow... But man, it was SOOOOOOO much fun... What a great place to ride... Mike
  3. If you're refering to me, You'd be wrong Mikie... Mike Kelly
  4. The sentance was a message, and a message only... The man is 72 years old and will be lucky to survive 15 years of it. Don't get me wrong, I think he should have been strung up on wallstreet, right in front of the stock exchange to send a clear message... I told my broker that he'd damn sure better find a great spot to hide if he ever ran off with my companies fund (I am responsible for the retirements of 20 households at this point, and I do not take that responsability lightly). Lives were ruined by this clown, and his family should be bled dry until every dime that can be had is accounted for... EVERY dime... Mike
  5. John, You clearly aren'y busy enough in the shop man!
  6. Oh Come on Jerry, admit it, in the grey matter in your noggin' you're thinking "HOTDAM, THREEWAY!!!! I'm THERE!!!"
  7. So they were to cheap to opt for the 35CC two stroke model, ey'? Nice... Ugh... Mike
  8. Pics of my wife's 97 328iS after a re-spray on the passenger side... We had an episode with a deer bouncing off every panel on that side of the car... $1100 later and it looks good as new... Forgot to tell the guy to fix the scuffs at the bottom of the right corner lower bumper... Those scuffs were there when we bought the car and I've never had it addressed, always assuming I'd buy an M3 nose for it... never happened and shoulda had them fix that while it was there... Oh well... We installed a kenwood headunit, Blluetooth module and otherwise, just drive the thing. It runs like a top, and this car is the reason I fell in love with german cars... It's been a real trooper! Mike
  9. John, I agree that it's amazing what those guys do with that platform. They're tire limited, suspension limited, and the weight of that pig and where it sits in the new COT platform makes for a handful to sort out, I'm sure. Mike
  10. I'd be the biggest fan of nascar, but the fans get in the way... We went to the Richmond race this year, because my business partner had never attended one and asked me to go with them... It was 10 hours of my life I'll never get back... I like watching the big track races ('Dega and Daytona) and the road course events. But Nascar will never add roadcourse races to the schedule... the typical Nascar fan is attracted to NASCAR races because of the ease of viewing of the whole course at most ovals. For Nascar, it's as much about marketing the drivers, selling the "Offical" nascar crap to the witless fans, and building those fan bases for the personalities on track, as it is the racing itself. Reality is most NASCAR drivers aren't roadcourse fans, although a few admit they enjoy it. We're lucky to have the two events annually that they have agreed to run. There have been numerous discussions about dropping those two events and moving those two events to other ovels. I expect that someday one of the bigger multi-track owners will win out with more cash to steal those dates away from Sonoma and Watkins Glen. Mike
  11. Myron, I just bought a bunch of weather stripping/doorgasket/edging from mcmaster-carr, and the stuff would be perfect for sealing that... I'll see if I can dig up the receipt for the part numbers for you... Cheap prices for 10ft. sections with the "bulb" of the seal in alternate locations for sealing, and thicknesses! I'm going to use some KYDEX formed to close off the front of my upper grill, along with some custom inner fender shields, but your idea certainly looks nice! Like the airbox too! Mike
  12. Best advice in this whole thread... I just stripped every piece of clear bra film off my Porsche and found GORGIOUS paint under it. The clear bra had withstood 28 days worth of track abuse and was looking beat, and I was thinking I'd need to respray the black beauty... Now I don't think so, other than the rock chips on the hood... ANY of the clear film that protects the paint is worth the expense. Just make sure the car is fully detailed before you apply it, so the shine in the paint will show thru the 3m Coating. Mike
  13. Any of you guys get down to Ft. Lauderdale Fl., Hit up Greg Ira to see some of those sweet rides... Greg is one heck of a nice guy, one hell of a great SCCA racer, and his taste in race and street cars is top shelf! Mike
  14. Thanks man! That's the house Garage... I have a shop down in the woods that houses the Zcar project and all the tools/lift/welder/junk...The garage is 28 deep X 24 wide. The shop in the woods is 24 deep by 36 Wide! Mike
  15. When I get the car running, I'll be sure to wash it up and clean all the shop dust off it, touch up the paint chips, and then I'll take pics... Soon as I DRIVE the POS!!! Mike
  16. Truck... Couple changes to the other car too... Mike
  17. Joe, Avoid that dodge dealer at all cost man... They out and out lied to me on the phone. The "used car" manager was completely bogus. All's well that ends well... This megacab 3500 rocks! Mike
  18. That lotus footage was the POOP! Mike
  19. So I wanted to get something that was just like this: I was looking at some 2500 series 3/4 ton trucks... Wasn't sure they would do what I needed to do without mods to the suspension/towing. So I finally opted for a 2006 3500 series truck. Pics show it cleaner than the exterior. The bed has some scratches on the outside. I may have it reshot, since a decent bodyshop just did the whole passenger side of my wife's bimmer for $1100. Anyway, I got the truck out the door, taxes, tags, all fees, for $29,460. The new 6.7L trucks are having some issues with eating oil, so I was hesitant to buy a new truck, and I didn't want to get into another car payment. With this figure, I was able to just go out of pocket to close the gap between what the insurance paid for my other truck and this truck... This truck makes 610 Ft. pounds of torque, up 60#ft. of torqe more than the 2004 model that was totalled... Bottom line is it's over and I've got what appears to be another very well appointed Dodge 3500 cummins diesel 4X4. And it was 4 miles down the street from a regular stop of mine. Mike
  20. Yea, that one didn't pan out... after 5 hours round trip driving, and extensive discussions on the phone before heading out, just to confirm the condition of the truck, I found a dent in the right front fender, the passenger front mirror cracked, and the drivers rear door double dented... I didn't even bother to go inside and speak with anyone... Fortunately they didn't "see" us, so my wife and I just got back in the car and headed home... I asked her, just to get a baseline, if I was being "unreasonable" in my search for a CLEAN diesel truck for less than $30K... This is the 4th one I've shown up to "see" and "drive" that was not as "represented" in ad or phone conversation... I was pretty pissed that we drove 5 hours round trip for that... She was too... When the sales dude called on the cell phone to ask if I was lost, I politely thanked him for mis-representing the car, and told him to have a nice life. So the search continues... Mike
  21. Joe, I may be up there to test drive this truck tomorrow... I just drove a Chevy Duromax with a bunch of Banks mods, and I'm not sure it's not been abused to much... Mike
  22. Almost three weeks ago I was at a traffic light stopped waiting for the green light, when I was hit by two vehicles and then a semi truck. My 2004 Dodge Cummins 3500 diesel was totalled... I'm now on the hunt for a 2005-2007 SHORTBED QUAD CAB DIESEL 3/4 to 1 ton 4X4. I know this is an unusual request for this board, but I also know there are a number of guys here in a number of various businesses... Anyone with a lead on something like I'm looking for, please contact me... more of what I'm looking for: POWER windows/locks/seats Sliding rear window Leather or cloth (no work truck vinyl) NO BLACK PAINT (Open to other colors) MUST BE DIESEL MUST BE a GM OR DODGE. I have ZERO interest in the Ford product. Thanks! Mike dat74z@yahoo.com
  23. Well we're in sunny south Florida and trying to relax a bit... Went by Greg Ira's house yesterday and visited with him and looked over his championship race car 240Z... Greg is a super nice guy and very smart, and that GT-R is pretty darned mean... Havin been in a few of them since the dust up a year or so ago, I have a new found respect and have actually come to like the big beast from the rising sun... I stopped in to see if there were recommendations for Greg's setup from the windtunnel testing, and due to rules, he is pretty darned limited... I actually came away with more than I contributed... Greg, that whole alignment stringer idea is simply genius. I'll be borrowing that for sure man!!! Anyway, Greg was having a cookout that we intended to participate in yesterday evening, but my buddy Dennis, who along with his wife is on vacation with us, had waitlisted for a night dive and got a call at 3PM to take a spot on a nightdive... Sooooo we didn't make the cookout, and went for the whole "support the friend" thing.... Any of you blokes get a chance, pick Greg's brain. He is obviously doing something right with his car... It's fast as hell and he's one hot shoe!!! Mike
