  1. N0, just laying on the floor, car on jack stands. It's just not going in striaght,I put in a new piolit bushing no play.I never had a trany go in so hard.Stupid question,I can't remember does the clutch disk go in with the springs facing the pressure plate,I think so? Mike P.s. Nice video!
  2. Boy do I feel stupid,I just spent 2.5 hrs tring to install a 4 speed into my 77 L6, what the heck.I installed the clutch, with a alignment tool, tried turning the output shaft, wiggling the engine, pushing the trany from side to side. O and I even have another imput shaft that slides right in with no problem.raised the engine, lowered the engine ,lowered the trany, raised the trany.funny thing is it's the trany that came out.It wouldn't be so bad if it were another trany.I'm just fustated,I'll get it.It's not the first trany I've installed, just been awhile! Mike

  4. Check the brushes inside, also try tapping on the alt. while it's running. If it starts to charge while tapping on it ,it 's probbably the brushes. Maybe a cheep fix!
  5. I had a MOMO five star wheel repaired by a company in Cal. http://www.wheeltechniques.com/ They did a great job. The wheel was center bent. I had sent it to another wheel repair shop, when it came back they said they couldn't fix it and it looked like an egg and some one was beating on it with a hammer! I sent it to http://www.wheeltechniques.com/ it looked like new when it came back! They do package deal for refinishing to. Mike
  6. Sorry I tried to edit and ended up posting the same thing twice.
  7. Hi: You probably could get by using a 20amp breaker if your not running the welder at it's max,But if you have low voltage it might trip the breaker.Lower voltage makes the amperage go higher so you better use a 30 amp breaker. Black and red number ten wire for the hots on a 2 poll breaker Use green for the ground. Mike

  9. Hi: The welder should say on it some where what the amperage and the voltage It needs thats what tell you what size wire and the size of the plug,20,30, 50amp. and breaker you need. Look for a tag on the welder. Mike
  10. Hi: No not 100% but the rack dosen't sit square to the crossmember.I'm in orange county NY. Mike
  11. HI: It dosen't appear that any one looks at the old posts,I was hoping that somone would have a spare crossmember that they would like to sell.Sorry to post a new thread.
  12. Hi: Anyone have a spare crossmember that they want to sell.Somthing wrong here, the rack dosen't sit right.Seems like the crossmember is twisted out of wack. Any Ideas!!! what do you guy's think. Rack boot hits croosmember.somthing wacky!! Thank's mike
  13. Hi: As you Know cygnusx1 is helping me put my car back together after redoing the engine compartment. The steering rack sits crooked on the crossmember. We don't see where it is bent or anything out of alignment. The car was hit in the front at one time before I bought it and repaired. All the damage looked to be in front of the crossmember.I hate to put it together out of wack,It will only wear and rip the rack boot again.Does anyone have a non-bent spare crossmember laying around that they might want to sell? I would like to see if it's the crossmember,Mine dosen't look bent, but maybe!.Cygnusx1 checked his and has about 1" between the boot and the crossmember and his sits straight. MY z is a 77 his is a 76. Thanks Mike

  20. HI: I'm having a similar problem with holly pumps, loss of pressure, and now the pump just stops. It over heats and shuts down on over tempature.same thing from fuel tank,to filter,to fuel pump,to fuel block,to triple webers.I've replaced the pump, lines, filter, put in heaver wires#12 way big enough!I removed the tank, boiled it acid washed it,resealed it!I did find loss of pressure on gauge may be dude to heat under hood.I installed a liquid filled gauge and it seems once it heats up it shows a loss in pressure even't though there isn't one.so I installed a non liquid filled gauge and it stayed constant.HUMMM! the pump seems to slow down after it warms up causing loss of pressure, and now just stops on over temp after about 4 miles.WTF!I emailed Holly's tec's But no responce.I may have to change the position of the pump to verticial. You shouldn't need a return line with low press.I tried that too.I just ordered a new WALBRO pump from JC whitney $50. turns on and off when float in carbs opens, It must have built in switch.I'm giving up on HOLLY CRAP!!!!
