  1. Dude: I used por15 on my jeep frame, Not to impressed with it! I did what they said to do in the instructions.2 coats of por15 and top coat.Guess what the rust came back! Maybe some one else had better luck with it.
  2. due: If you are unsure about doing any of this don't do anything you might get hurt!! Buy some x cords and some multi outle pluigs and feed stuff that way.
  3. You have to make sure you have 4 wires . It won't work with 3. Or should I say IT's not right!!!! If you have a 3 wire outlet at your dryer don't do it!! You need 2 hots(black, red),a neutral( the grounded current carring conductor)ie (white) and a ground(green or bare).the blk and red are 220 volts and the white gives you the 110volts with either one of the hots blk or red.don't use the ground for current!!!
  4. I don't know I got 2 headlight buckets for $50. bucks shpped to NY.
  5. ezzzzzzz: Is right you assume the risk .But if you shut off the main breaker that feeds the panel from the meter there is NO way the power can feed back threw to the power lines. First rule of electricity is assume that every circuit is live. The linemen should no that! And yes a transfer switch would be safer, but he needs power now not in 2 weeks when a electrician can come and hook up a transfer switch.
  6. The dryer outlet set up will work fine ,doublended male plugs off of the gen to the dryer outlet. It's just like tying it to a 2 pole breaker,Just make sure your dryer outlet is a 4 wire 220 not a 3 wire 220. On some older dryers they used 3 wire no neutral .You need a neutral back to the panel for the 120volt circuits. IN 3 wire circuits they cheat and use ground at the dryer for control 120volts. It's Not right but it works! Just make sure your wiring is heavy enough to handle the load. # 10 gauge is good for 30 amp. And make sure you shut off the main disconnect that feeds to from the meter before you do anything. Remeber this is just TEMPERARY!!!! When working with electric always assume it's live and becare full. Saftey first,One hand in your pocket so you don't get hit across your heart.
  7. try this guy I use him he's good.I just got 2 headlight buckes from him for my 77. "Dannys datsuns"
  8. Dude: If you have a 2 pole breaker in your pannel 30,40,50,amp take the wires off of that one, unless you have a spare 2 pole in panel not being used. attach your 220 from your generator to that breaker(hot wires) and attach the ground (green or bare)to your ground bar and (white) to neutral bar and back feed the power threw the whole house. It will work fine.Don't forget to turn off the main breaker!!! and turn on the 2 pole breaker the gen is attached to.Every thing in the house should have power except the wire you took off.8-10k should do a good job of running the house maybe not electric stove.Or welder. No heavey loads,The smaller the breaker you use to attack the gen the less of a load you can have.8K is a good size. Temp set up but it will work fine.
  9. He Who dies with the most toys wins!!!
  10. Where did you bget the fuse block ? Share it with others looks great!
  11. OK! No drinking and driving z cars! Happy birthday!
  12. I"m going to guess free? Just take it,Get it out of my yard!!!
  13. Take the piston( slave cylinder) apart and clean it out all the crap over the years gets down in there. I took mine apart when I was reinnstalling the trany and it was full with black sludge. It dosen't take long just some degreaser and rag and a screw driver and a wrench.Your going to blead it any ways. .
  14. Do the jack stands come with it?
  15. I'm still thinking head gasket or cracked head?no water in the oil or oil in the water?happens at high RPM?could the head bolts flex under high boost?
  16. Buy land or a house!! Cars are nice But down the road you will regret it!
  17. Could the water pump be causing that much pressure to blow out the freeze plugs?Maybe under high RPM'S?dosen't seem like that would do it.What else could cause pressure in cooling system? Vibration?
  18. Sounds like you did a nice job.A little over kill. On a 20amp 120volt circuit. #10 is rated for 30 amps.#12 is rated for 20.unless your doing long runs over a couple hundred feet it's unneeeded and hard to get in the boxes unless deadicated circuit.over a couple hundred feet you start to get voltage drop so up sizing the wire helps.A 20 amp breaker is going to trip with 20 amps weather You use #10 or #12 wire. But if you use #10 wire and you need to up grade for some reason you can to a 30 amp.Double ground rods are being required now at 6 ft apart. But grumpyvette is right get the specs first ask inspecter what he wants. It will save a lot of time.
  19. You might see bubbles in the coolant, while reving it, after it's hot in the radiator,if theres a head leak under boost? Maybe? You could screw a gauge into the drain plug of the radiator if you have one,for a test? Just a thought!
  20. IT'S Not white for ground on 120 volt single phase, WHITE IS NETURAL NOT GROUND !! Neutral is the grounded current carring counductor, they are differnt. BE CAREFULL!! Run your cat 5 in metal conduit if your putting it in the same trench as the electric or get shielded under ground cat 5 if you can. That should keep out unwanted stray voltages(inductance) and noise.Don't forget to run cable and phone wires in the trench , You need TV and phone in the garage!! When you do the house you will need 4 wires seperate isolated neutral and seperate ground.
  21. It still sound like your building to much pressure in the cooling system and the rad cap can't blow fast enough to relieve the pressure? I can see 1 plug falling out because it was loose but several Hummm seems odd ?? what psi cap are you running? Maybe a small crack in the head it only happens under boost pressure, you said you warped it ,did you chandge the head or fix that one?
