  1. I recently sold my Z, and bought a 84 volvo to replace it as a daily driver. However, the transaction went sour, and i now have a volvo that needs to pass smog at a *TEST ONLY* center, but it reads too high on the NOX section: Max Ave Meas 15 mph 1136 399 1661 25 mph 966 332 1047 I'd like to go the easiest route to have my car pass, and am open to ANY and all suggestions. Thanks.
  2. Reuters: A Mexican man killed his lover in a drunken, drugged fight then cooked the man's body in tomato and onion sauce and ate it over three days. Police found Gumaro de Dios Arias grilling human flesh for his breakfast, including part of a heart, when they raided a shack he lived in near the Caribbean beach resort of Playa del Carmen, a police chief said today. "He was preparing stews. There was a grill where he was cooking part of the heart and bits he had cut off the body. It was terrible, terrible," said local police chief Martin Estrada, who was among a dozen police who raided the shack. Arias told police the victim, a young man, arrived at his cardboard hut in a wasteland area with a mutual friend who then left the two of them drinking and taking drugs. The pair had sex and afterward a fight broke out during which he killed the man with blows to the head, police said. Police arrested Arias, 25, after a tip off. "They said there was a person eating a person," Estrada said. Advertisement Advertisement"We found him lying on a folding bed and to one side was the corpse which had been torn apart and which it seems he had been eating for three days," he told Reuters. The corpse, which had its back ripped open and its innards pulled out, was missing various parts, like a thigh, he said.
  3. Is there anything i can do that's a cost effective way to increase the value of my z before i post it to sell? I'm currently going to list it for $1500-$1600... Thanks again guys. pics for reference can be seen here: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/clarkcameronm/my_photos
  4. After months of trying to justify building my dream Z car, i've decided that right now just isnt my time. I'm selling the Z, to help pay for my Paramedic classes ($9,000 - $10,000) that start this summer. Also need something more economical, as i've spent almost $800 on gas in the past 3 months driving this beast (i drive waaaaay too much). How much should i be asking for it? 1973 240z Has 147,XXX miles Original engine (with round top SU swap) and trans. Possibly swapped rear end (speedo reads a little bit higher..records roughly 7 miles per actual 6 miles) Rust: under battery, driver's door, bottom of passenger door on inside seam Original paint Straight frame, no structural rust. Everything works except: the tach, amp gauge, right blinker light on tach Tires will need replacing soon, suggest brakes and wheel bearings too. Has a slight leak when it rains...windshield seal? Have new complete set of seals from Motorsport, in box ($200 value). Has a few small parking lot dings, nothing major, but enough to piss me off. Passenger door does not open from outside. Was in minor accident, bent the rear bumper and dented back right corner (has been primered white to prevent rust). Any input would be greatly appreciated. See picture link: http://photos.yahoo.com/clarkcameronm Thanks guys.
  5. Namely triumphs? check this out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4509410566 RIDICULOUS! According to this guy, my gutted 69 (authentic mark 3 model) with faded paint, no hood, engine, trans, etc, is worth about $7,000-$8,000! Sweet. Sorry, had to vent. Some people need to get a clue though.
  6. Right...but even looking online all over the country, i couldn't find much.
  7. I've searched all over the net and only found 1 place that sells it. It was $8.xx a quart. Does anybody know where else to get it in a gallon size? Thanks -Rustrocket
  8. Leisure Suit Larry was sweet..."ken sent me". heh. Space Quest, Kings Quest, and LSL were the favorite games of my childhood.
  9. Everybody is telling me to go back to stock suspension...but it's already stock. guess i'm screwed.
  10. Warranty has been voided due to excessive abuse. The newer, more compliant models are higher maintenance and harder to work on with a lack of aftermarket support.
  11. Is it as all possible to improve the ride quality of my car to satisfy my significant other? She complains it's too loud, cold, rides too harsh. Any suggestions on what i can do to avoid having to buy another car? I understand that this will never ride like a new car, but if it was possible to get it somewhere close, it might help. Thanks guys.
  12. On ebay! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4504054043&category=6257 It even has cassette!
  13. With 2 tickets (1 speeding, 1 for going straight from a left turn lane..in a college parking lot) and no accidents, i pay $110 a month for full coverage. I'm also 20.
  14. Well...Vildini motorsports apparently makes the sr20det mounts for around $200 give ir take a little, i dont remember. But both engines will require a custom IC piping, and new exhaust, etc... Auxilary and BayareaZT - I'm not sure i can get you the clip for $800, it might be a little closer to $1000, which i'm sure you know is about 1/2 price. At this point, my buddy is still negotiating with people in japan, so theres the possibility it could not happen at all. But if it did, could i count you guys in?
  15. I recently bought an l28et engine for my 73 240z. I have yet to install it. However, a good friend of mine just offered me a silvia front clip with an sr20det + 5 speed for the insanely low price of $800, to be delivered in january. Should i stick with the l28et or go with the sr20det? I like the idea of dropping all the weight with the sr20det, but i like the torque of the l28et. What do you guys recommend?
  16. "Solid body, front fenders show obvious rust" Front fenders show obvious rust ...AND WRECKAGE! "Still driveable as is, has not been started for 5 yrs" ---->>> " I started it 4 yrs ago, fired right up. Stuck at 3,000 rpm's"
  17. The guy never called me back to go check out the car. I'm assuming he sold it, because he said he'd had 5 calls within the first 3 hours of posting. I was hoping i could come back with a story about how i barely escaped death while on a crazy test drive in the world's only 300hp inline 6, wide-bodied, g-nosed Z...sorry guys.
  18. Maybe an r230 might be better for this application. I also think fitting the tranny in the stock z tunnel might be an issue as well.
  19. I only ask because i had some crazy idea to talk to some companies that made single turbo headers for the rb engines and try to make a small run of l28et headers based on a modified rb header.
  20. Just out of curiosity...What's the main difference between the exhaust manifold on the l28et and the rb26dett? Why cant the rb manifold be used on the l28et? Is it possible to modify the rb manifold for this application? Thanks -RuStRoCkEt
  21. Where'd you find that? Me and my girlfriend need a halloween costume.
  22. *called about it this morning to go check it out...i'm heading up there this afternoon* I know this should be in the classifieds, but they dont get enough publicity. not my car, but thought it was pretty interesting: http://www.craigslist.org/nby/car/46729630.html 1972 Datsun 240Z S30 hatchback! Many extras included. Originally a Nissan Comp. drag car and destined for a V8 conversion. For all of you that know, a 240Z will take your V8 small block with ease. Currently, the car has: -Triple Weber 40DCOE sidedraft carburetors -Cannon racing intake manifold -L28 block -N42 head (best non-turbo datsun head, square exhaust ports!) -High-lift cam -280ZX 5-speed transmission -R200 Differential (open) -Widebody kit (very agressive!) in front and rear -BBS 15-inch Mag wheels -285/45R15 front tires and 345/35R15 rear tires -Lowering springs -Tokico 5-way adjustables in the front -Momo shift knob! -Beautiful Recaro racing seats on rails OTHER ITEMS INCLUDED: -Assorted Weber parts -Original seats (dismantled) -Additional rear suspension -SK (Sanyo-Kiki) Sports racing intake manifold -Many other parts Car needs some work, differential needs to be replaced. Strong motor, even 185 compression across all 6 cylinders. Very strong, but knowledge of Webers needed. I was told the car had 300 hp with a triple Mikuni setup. Carpets needed, the rest is up to you! Awesome looking car, definitely a head-turner. Also, car is smog-exempt, for all people who want to make (more of) a project out of it. Sounds like a V8, wish I could keep it! It's very light (2350lbs. stock) and has tons of potential! Car sold as is, $3200/obo Photos located at http://genesis.tengun.net/datsun/ BEEFY EDIT: More pictures:
