I have a set of fiberglass headlight covers that are body colored and pinstriped. The old mounting system of 3 small bolts to brackets in the bucket are not conducive to what I would like to try and do. I would like to have a quick release setup to enable me using the covers during day and quickly taking off for night or foul weather... Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you

I'm no expert but my guess would be it was made by Cartech... Arizona Z and Clifford completly replaced the intake manifold with thier designs. Yours looks like it bolts to the SU manifold and Cartech is the only one I am aware of that did this... Just my guess tho...

Thanks for the reply John.... If you do go that way someday, I would like to hear of your results... I am somewhat suprized that there is so little info on this site about this subject... With the vast array of experiances on this board it seems to be a modification that would have caught some attention...

I'm somewhat new to these motors and noticed in an earlier thread there was mention of motorcycle carbs.... I searched but found no definitive info or links to other sites that address this... My question is, does anyone have experiance with motorcycle carbs using the stock manifold or custom setups ??? Curious as to experiances on street/ track cars... I'm planning on running street/auto-x and a rare track day with my L28 powered 240Z... Thank you all in advance for your input... I have learned alot from lurking on this forum already...

I bought my 240Z for a V8 conversion also... Has a 4 barrel draw-thru turbo system... Got it running and am sorting suspension/ brakes , etc...... I will collect V8 parts as I go.... Still able to auto-x and do track days as I go in mean time.... You might think of a similar route and be able to work on truck too....

What intake was being used with that Holley ??? Sorry, no idea on the oil system... Kurt

This is what i'm working on....

CAR tech responded "we don't make that product anymore" to an email with questions about this setup..... I was looking for tips/areas of concern etc with this turbo so I don't do anything stupid and hurt it right away.... Like, does the carbs secondaries open up under boost ??? (They're vacume secondaries) How does the brake booster work/ it looks like it's under pressure..... Stuff like that would be nice to know, this is my first turbo and not sure about this stuff..... Kurt

Here's my 20 year old "barn find" turbo that started right up today for first time.....

Put gas and spark to it today and it started just like it was parked yesterday...... Smoked some but was getting better... Everything came up to temp and stabilized... Now on to rear disc brakes and renewing the clutch hydro system... Kurt

HZ Ryder, You might try contacting a couple kit car clubs in NJ.... They might be able to answer your questions....

Well, we'll try again this weekend to fire it.....Carb had to be rebuilt .....

Picked up a 240z that has been sitting for 20 years. Previous owner said it ran when parked with this motor package. 280Z Block 240Z head Cartech Turbo Holley 4 Barrel Carburetor 4 Core Radiators Electric Fan Thats all the details I have until I pick it up next week. Any advice on prepping the turbo to try a startup ??? I've neve had one before and don't want to smoke it if I can help it... Thanks Kurt
