I'm not sure, but I think the "200r" automatic that came in the 80's era camaros and firebirds (before the 700r4) had some sort of locking torque converter that had similar efficiency to a clutch when cruising. I don't know if its similar to your idea, but.......well, hope it helps

I actually agree with what Mikelly said (imagine that!)... I too have been part of the "heat", and have caught myself saying things that are "out of bounds". And even though I disagree with JohnC's philosophy, I learned a bit from his interesting and thought provoking research. Personally I think he's the best cyclist in history, considering the immense obstacles he's overcome to reach where he is today. Even though some people argue that Eddy Merckx is the greatest cyclist of all time, because he won SO many races (including winning multiple "Tours" in the same year -for multiple years!) but I still think Mr. Armstrong takes the crown for winning the race against CANCER and going on to dominate the TDF like no other. And you guys are right- he's definitely a great role model, one of the greatest athletes of all time, and someone I look up to. Good for you, man! I love mountain biking. I've been riding since I was 8 years old. My dad's buddies include Gary Fisher, Charlie Kelly, and Joe Breeze (if you're into mountain biking then you know who they are), so I was raised into it. Yeah, its definitely the best of the "new" Star Wars movies. Episode 1 and 2 were not very good, and I was hoping Lucas would get it right this time, and I was impressed. It FELT more like the originals (4, 5 and 6) than episodes 1 and 2. It also ties up all the loose ends nicely. A must see.

Hey, great project man! In my senior year in high school, I built a kart from scratch with two buddies for our engineering class. It had a two-layer triangulated frame that we designed on Autocad, using chromoly tubing and heavy duty downhill mountain bike forks, wheels, brakes and bmx chains. It was awsome. The teachers wouldn't let us put an engine in though (they claimed "insurance" reasons), but we planned on putting one in after school let out. Unfortuneately, we didn't get around to it, and we couldn't find a place to stash it long enough, so we had to get rid of it (I was pissed). A couple years later my buddy did another one for off road use, with an 8hp lawnmower engine and torque converter running off a solid rear axle and rear brake. It had a full overhead type cage and knobby kart tires. That was a lot of fun tearing up trails out in west marin. Best of luck with your project, man, it looks like it will blow away my old kart!!

What is it with guys in Ford Rangers?? I've had road rage BS from guys in those trucks TWICE in the last month!! Maybe they are really insecure, and wanted a big truck to feel tough, but couldn't afford a big one, so they got stuck with a Ranger, and now they're all pissed at the world. Last time it happened it was some dumb-@ss wannabe gang banger (white guy with a shaved head and bandana HAHAHA) throwing up signs at me cause I wasn't going fast enough. Gave him the bird. The funniest part was that all the while he was acting so tough and hardcore, I could hear some really sappy Alicia Keys love song blasting out of his truck. HAHAHAHA tough guy!!

Is 330 rwhp stock on an LS1? That is roughly 400 horses at the crank, which is roughly what a Z06 (with an LS6) is claimed to have by Chevy. If 330 rwhp is stock on the LS1, then what does the LS6 make stock at the wheels? I've never seen dyno sheets for LS-series SBC's, so if anyone can chime in that would be great.

Mat, it sounds like you need to increase the size of your video players "buffer". Go to the "streaming video" section of the "preferences" in your player's options menu to change it.
