  1. No good deed goes unpunished. Get the wheels back and find another friend.
  2. Wheels look great. Love the deep dish. What type of flairs are going on the car?
  3. spray some contact cleaner in the vacume port of the opti and crank away. I bet it is corroded inside. I've take my last two apart and it is amazing how bad they looked. This is on a car that is only driven in good weather and stays inside the rest of the time.
  4. Danno, Good point, Mine is speed density and I didn't think about the MAF.
  5. Don't jump it. Put a battery in it even if you have to swap out one from another car. The PCM will not let the car start unless it sees a certaian voltage, even if the car will crank. This is on my 93 PCM. I assume yours is the same. gex may be on the right track. If a known good battery will not start it, get an opti. It never hurts to have a spare.
  6. I was wondering the same thing. I'm sure homeland security is already working on this to keep us safe.
  7. If the car has spark and fuel, not many PCM things will keep it from at least starting. I've disconnected most of my sensors and the car will at least start. Not many electrical problems with the pcm will cause a non start issue. Disconnect a sensor or two and see if you get a code. Any chance you have mechanical problems? Compression OK? My money is still on the optispark.
  8. My money is on the opti spark. Hope you find the problem.
  9. Any time the lt-1 won't start I always think optispark. I've had several issues with mine and it gave no warning at all, just died. I've also had wiring problems from my hacked harness (I did it). Good luck, tell us what it is when you find it.
  10. Do you have spark? I would imagine not but check and see. Trace all your grounds for the PCM and make sure they are OK. Is the AC wired using the PCM or is it independant of the PCM?
  11. Beautiful... When is the next track day?
  12. Did you open the bleed screw? Did you try to rotate that one also?
  13. THe piston needs to be rotated. It kinda screws back into place. Use a large flat head screw driver.
  14. The thing I like about the Z for a track car is that you don't see many at the track. BMW's are great on the track but you see them all the time. Cost is an issue with the BMW's but developed and proven parts are available that can make the BMW's handle like nobody's business. I attend track days with a friend that drives a race prepped M3. Engine, brakes, motons, lexan, you name it. I can't touch him in the turns or under braking. All that said, I'll still take my Z. I think it's a sickness.
  15. Pete, I'm glad you had some good news to share. I was hoping you had not had another set back when I saw this thread. Hang in there and enjoy your PT!
  16. spacer for the rears. Goes on the bottom of the struts.

    Great buy!!!!

I hope he gets at least 20k for it. If he does, I'm selling mine and buying a small island where the water is always warm and women don't wear clothes!
  18. Go buy a 5 gallon lawn mower gas jug. Fill it up with a gallon of gas and 4 gallons of water. Leave it out kind of near you car. The next morning look for the neighbor that has the tow truck in the drive way. THis does work!!
  19. I think I'll pass. I'd bet that car would hand me my ass!!!
  20. Tom, WHere will you be in two weeks??
  21. John, It is always fun when you are at the track. It was a great day. Nice cars, good food and tons of track time. Seeing the 930 drifting thru the Carousel, it was evident you had spent alot of time on a dirt track some where!!! Nice car BTW. Too bad you beat me down there to buy it. I love the look of the slant nose cars. Get the Z car back together so we can play at VIR.
  22. I had the pleasure of spending 9-11 at CMP with Tom and jt1. A great way to spend any Monday. I have to say that these pictures do not do this car justice. Everywhere you look, there is eye candy. Every nut, bolt, hinge, rod, do dad, what ever has been polished, powercoated or modified in some way. The attention to detail is stunning. This car is a must see for anyone thinking about doing a track car. Tom, I look foward to getting back on the track with you at VIR. Jt1, get the Z together!
  23. You're 22 and have one degree and a minor. So far you are doing great. Find a school where you can get you masters in engineering and business. You will be very marketable to anyone. Also, we'll have to call you Doc!
