    240z t tops

I've seen a 240 with 280 ZX t-tops grafted in. It looked very nice and looked to be an incredible amount of work. Not only is the roof line slightly different but the windows seal differently on both cars. The one I saw had the chrome window frame removed and some type of thick weather stripping glued to the car to seal the window. It still didn't seal very well. That was the only part of the car that didn't really look right. It sure did look nice with the tops out and the windows down.
  2. Did you try to loosen and retorque the lugs? What work did the place do? Did you check for a stick taped to your tire?
  3. No need to worry. Ross is a stand up guy and great to do business with. This is not his full time job. He will get back to you.
  4. Check out hooker's web site. I've used there D port block hugger headers in my 73 240Z. THe S&S will need to be bent to fit. THere are a couple of good threads somewhere about the fit of the S&S'S

    r230 axle outer cv

It's been a while since I did this but I think there is a snap ring on the end of the axel. Maybe just a C clip. I think you can rotate the CV housing to a severe angle, rotate, pull, beat it with a BFH to remove it.
  6. Do you have the thick washer between the nut and the bearing? Are you sure the inner bearing is seating on the spindel?
  7. Millie's is THE place to be in Milton!
  8. From my post on this thread http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=119175 I thought I would add a little detail. I had been adding rear brake bias to the car. A little to much bias plus a brain fart lead to a spin in a braking zone and contact with a brake marker. One can of bondo, $10, paint who knows. New clutch gave up due to an oil leak, took it apart and found a presure plate that had some strange wear. New clutch disc and lightened pressure plate $650. OUCH! And cost to surface the flywheel. Having some valve train issues. John (jt1) has offered to help me work these out, 1 case of cheap beer $3.00 One set of lifters $129. Probably also need some shorter push rods. Tore 2 CV boots with my little braking zone deal. Decided to replace all 4, New boots (Q 45 diff and CV axel set up) from Courtsey Nissan about $150. Still need to get assorted gaskets, intake, valve cover etc, probably another $100 or so. I'm sure there will be some while I'm at it that happens also. $XXXXXX.78 All in all still a fun weekend. Great guys, great track. Just parts, time and cash. Still cheaper than a weekend of hookers and cocaine, easier on the marriage also.
  9. John, jt1 on this board turned a 211 at VIR this weekend on kuhmos. That is in a streetable car. Not sure if John has the car on the street or not but all it would need is a tag to be street legal. Alot of this is the driver, John can drive the wheels off the car. As the matter of fact, I think a wheel almost came off the last time he was at VIR.

    r230 axle outer cv

Both can be taken apart. The outer is a little harder to take apart. The inner is realitively easy. Mark
  11. Can you post a pic of the suspension parts on the car? I remember I had to shorten the threaded portion of my inner tie rods a bit to make it all work out. Nothing done to the outer tie rods.
  12. Anyone know who did the art work on the front of the Pinks shirt? It's the Z with rear flairs. I would love to use a similar design on a project I'm working on.
  13. I think you have swapped sides. I've got the same set up. It's hard to tell from the pics but that is a common mistake. Looks like the engine is a little far forward also. Swap sides with the set back plates and I bet it drops right in.
  14. With the stoco water pump you can just loop the heater line or plug the outlet and inlet. I've got an electric water pump on mine and just never took the plugs off the pump.
  15. Mike, I need to visit Jeff also. Let me know when you plan to go.
  16. All this is good info on the 93. I've had the 93 lt-1 in my Z Since 96. Still nonvented optispark. I've replaced it a couple of times. On the last rebuild of the engine, I bought a package from the builder to dyno tune it once I got it in the car. He burned the chip and it runs great. 400+ RWHP. I reallly can't find a reason to upgrade that right now.
