If you've got the money or can't mount to the pillar like me because of the rollbar, you can get the gauges made by Blitz or Defi that have suction cups, allowing you to mount to the windshield anywhere you want. Owen

Oh yeah, costs add up. But once you're set to spray, you can always whip out the gun and spray something instead of taking it somewhere. I'm thinking of selling my fresh air setup (HobbyAir) if you're interested, it's only a year old. Owen

Tim is right about the newer guns only needing 10 PSI or so, the PPG paints I use say 8-10PSI. This is at the gun's tip, not inlet pressure. Changing tips won't change your air requirement. Try a gun with a lower requirement, such as the Sharpe Platinum. You can get them for less than $200 direct from the mfr. dmyntti, How do you know you're losing pressure when you spray, do you have a gauge at the gun? What I do is pull full trigger and then adjust the regulator of the compressor to give me 8PSI at the tip, I have a Sharpe gauge/regulator at the gun which shows PSI at the tip. I now need to slam my doors.... My friend also has a '73 but his door panels are a thin plastic wheras mine are padded under fake leather, a switch to those may solve my problem. Owen

I half-agree, the other way to do it would be the "while I'm at it" syndrome. Somethings are easier to do while everything else is in pieces, such as removing the dash, etc. Oh, yeah, what I learned from Tim240Z, the Precision kit has metal clips in the rubber for the door-strips, the Too Intense one doesn't... Aren't there cheap tire balancers at JC Whitney? Also, can you change any wheel/tire combo? I bought my tires at a friends shop and they had an electric machine but told me they couldn't mount the tires cuz of the shape of the lip on my wheels. Owen
