  1. I have 17x9 -20 offset on the rear, Ground Control coilovers, and a 1" spacer to push the wheel out. The tire is still not flush with the lip of the flare. Here's a pic in my personal gallery. http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/album_personal.php?user_id=7 Tire squat caused the fender to rip a gash in the tire so I had to roll the lips. I think John Coffee recently posted some pix on his new wheels and flares. See the second page for the flares http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7853&highlight= Owen
  2. I'll post this for my friend as he's probably still asleep.... His '73 Z was at a level ride height, he said he changed out the sway bar links and after that the car was higher in the front. A couple of months later, I helped him put in new springs and shocks and now the car is more level (the sway bar links weren't tightened real tight). Another friend and I could only guess that the upper mounts could be the culprit as everything else on the strut is not adjustable. Is there really that much of a difference between the two mounts? Thanks, Owen
  3. Yeah, that's a task down the road though...just need to get my car locking for the moment. Owen
  4. I agree with Mike Kelly on getting the car you want. I simply personally WANT the Z, not because it's smog exempt for the moment or because it was cheap, I've wanted this car forever. tt350, how about using some of that budget to get a more modern car? Although...Stage 2 on the following link might eat up too much of that budget http://www.breathlessperformance.com/products/500-101.asp Owen
  5. May not be cheap but it's a source! http://www.dashtops.com/dashboard/autodash.cfm/163 Owen
  6. Yer not goin fast enough then! Nuthin a little oil on the track wouldn't solve See ya Friday! Owen
  7. Found this gallery on the web, my friends who went to this told me there were one or two old Z's there (and that they kinda sucked, not drifitng but kinda just squealing the tires) http://www.jdmhondaparts.com/gallery/rsr-show.4.03/index.htm Owen
  8. Cool! Why did you have them re-keyed, to match your existing set? Has anyone found a good replacement for the hatch lock? Owen
  9. Good post! Now what's a good brand? Thanks, Owen
  10. This place is cool too. http://www.bonevil.com/relay/ Owen
  11. I've seen numerous references to "someone used them" but have yet to come across the actual information or part numbers. Anyone have this hidden away in their hard drive? Thanks! Owen
  12. Are those the Geo Storm door handles? I like! Owen
  13. The solenoid is usually on your starter, what most people do is get a remote mount solenoid to combat heat problems. I've done this but still get starter heat soak anyway. I'm using a stock LT1 starter. Owen
  14. Mike, Do you have a link to that guy's website with the turbo truck? And what kinda tranny have you come up with as a replacement for the T56? I agree that thing is WAY too big! Owen
  15. The Sledgehammer is pretty old, here's a guy who's doing this as we speak. You can find him on turbobuick.com in the Performance ECM Upgrades section. http://www.montygwilliams.com/ Owen
  16. Doesn't have to be a Z and now doesn't have to be a V8...as long as it has 1000HP...that's the only contstant I'm seeing here. Sounds like you're just looking for the "1,000 HP Turbo Car!!!!" glam shot on the cover of Turbo Magazine. Don't get me wrong, I want a turbo or two as well! But you haven't stated what knowledge you have, etc. Not trying to bash you, but you switched from a V8 to a rotary just like that. Don't listen to all the myths, instead get educated on why aluminum blocks aren't good for turbos or why rotaries are cheaper etc. I wonder how long those apex seals would last under 1000hp? Owen
  17. Skyline GTRs easily make 1000 streetable horsepower, but as mentioned above, think of the chassis, etc. compared to the Z. The engine will take off at a stoplight and leave the car's shell sitting there! If you're interested in the R230, checkout some of my info on my site v8zcar.com Owen
  18. Heh, with my car we could do a "berfore and after" comparison! Better yet, a "this is what not to do" example! Owen
  19. The shafts need to be shortened or new ones made. There's a bunch of info on this site if you search for it. And if you're starting from scratch, maybe going with the newest mod for the outer CV joint is the best? Someone posted on this, do a search and check it out. Owen
  20. Get the locks, when/if you get wheels, you're gonna need to protect them anyway. I had a set of these, really light weight, but sold them to a friend when I didn't need them anymore. http://shop.store.yahoo.com/urbanimport/kyokliglugnu.html Owen

    R230

http://www.240sx.org/links/installs/lsd2/ says, "The biggest problem with the 300zx is that the output flanges are different. The look like a '5 star' flange where the 240sx uses 3 sets of 2. " So the Q45 is the same as the 240SX? Owen

    R230

And the R230 is HEAVIER! OMG, that thing ways a ton....here's some pix, do a search for front mounts, etc. http://www.v8zcar.com/s30z/r230.htm http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=18676 Owen
  23. This is one of the things I gotta re-do, I get no exhaust clearance with my current mount. Tim..make me one!!! Owen
  24. How about McGard? I know they had some open ended lug nuts. If you're looking for lightweight open ended and wheel locks, get some of those 7-sided import tuner ones. I had a set before switching to SAE threaded studs. Gorilla has them, #84027, 78621N, etc etc. Download their catalog. Owen
