  1. 240ZTurbo, Can you just swap in the coil packs? (Supra or GM) without having to make any other major purchases? I'm running a WB B2B FAST on my V8. Owen
  2. The windshield and rear hatches appeared ok, I had the guy install it when I bought new glass and he didn't complain about them. The ones everyone complains about is the doors... Owen
  3. Hmmm, good thinking! Just cuz it fit don't mean it's making contact. Thanks! Joe, I still would appreciate those pin-outs when you have the time Thanks Owen
  4. There's a couple Bonneville runners, the Jun Z32 is one, Blitz might have had one a long time ago using the KKK Turbolader turbos. Owen
  5. I don't remember the exact packaging you had, but mine definitely does not say Precision on the box. Owen
  6. I have the one from Too Intense Restoration Owen
  7. 1. The Too Intense Restorations doesn't have the same number of pieces as the Precision kit on does. Notably, mine doesn't have the rubber piece that sits on the door where it closes in behind the front fender. 2. Qtr window/inner strip. Too big! Some corners were ground off, etc but the damn window frame just won't align any more. Ended up putting the 30-year old ones back in... 3. Qtr window/outer strip. Too big again! Had to shave it down and then LEAN on it (fearing I would break it) just to get the holes to almost line up. Ended up slotting the holes slightly to be able to pull it in towards the body. Also, even though the window is up against the frame like it should be, for some reason it's sticking out a LOT more than before! Next up, door weatherstrips, this ain't gonna be fun! Owen
  8. ) What I hate is the Honda purists looking down on us cuz of an American motor. How can they praise a CIVIC with an NSX motor and rear wheel drive and not the V8Z?!?!? These people simply don't appreciate pure engineering and performance. There will always be posers, ricers, and purists - just do what you want and be happy with what you have and the hard work you've put into it. I don't think any of us here are doing what we are doing to prove something to the world. Owen
  9. FWIW, I don't believe you have to idle in closed loop, I don't with my FAST setup. What I've learned from some tuners is that you should give the engine what it wants, not to force it. Meaning, if your engine idles smoothly and it's rich, then so be it, maybe a certain setup doesn't like to idle at stoich (as the L6 mentioned above). As long as it's safe for you and the engine, you should be ok. I've spent way too much time trying to smooth out my Actual AF ratio vs Target AF ratio curve. I'd think with a WBO2, it's almost impossible to get the EG to idle at 14.7 each and every millisecond (or whatever your time axis is on your tables). Just my 2cents Owen
  10. I don't think anyone has...did you want how to remove the trim or did you want how to paint the car start to finish? For the trim, which window? If hatch and windshield, take a small flat screwdriver and slide it under the trim and all the way around the perimeter of the window. It's worked for me in getting new trim from the junkyards. As for paint, do a search on "recommended books". I think we discussed some such as House of Kolor's book and another one called How to Paint Your Car. This will give you a pretty good idea of where and how to start, then if you have more specific questions, someone may be able to help you. Owen
  11. I'm running a 26inch tire. Rims are 17x9, tires are 245/45-17. One of the first days out, the car squatted and the fender lip ripped a 6-inch gash out of my tire (which I still haven't replaced). I can't really say about the lowering, doesn't that depend on where you are taking your reference? Say the lower perch of the coil overs or stock perches, etc. All I've done after the incident is roll the lips, haven't had any marks or gashes in the tire since then. I have about 1.5 inches clearance between the tire and the fender lip. If you can get them cut and re-welded, I would do it since they wouldn't show under the flares. Owen
  12. Yeah, a good substitute for stock is hard to find. The only ones out there are those old-timer type gauges meant for Mdel-Ts and such. I painted the bezels on my Autometers black, blacked out the Autometer logos, etc. Owen
  13. What the hell happened to my post??? I can't remember what I wrote anyway... Owen
  14. Joe, when you have the chance can you tell me the pinouts? I don't remember mine having any colors so if you could tell me the wire towards the front of the car is xxx and the wire towards the back is zzz. Thanks! Owen
  15. I can't get the speedo to work. The speed sensor in the T56 only has two wires, which one is for the signal or does it matter? Thanks, Owen
  16. Ross, My engine output is similar to yours. Setup-wise, I have block huggers coming into dual 2.5" pipes into dual 2.5" bullet style Dynomax mufflers. Then into a Ypipe 3" single out into a Random Technologies hi-flow catalytic, and then to my muffler 3" in 5" out. It still may be loud to you, but the what really helped me was the twin bullet mufflers, sound level went way down. From raspy high pitched to deep grunting. Haven't really noticed a drone but I haven't been driving it for a while. Anyone know if a balance pipe makes any difference on a system which goes from dual to single? I've heard it does on straight duals... Another thing people do is get a resonator and flip it around so the raised lip of the fins inside are facing the engine. Don't know what this will do to performance tho... Owen
  17. The names I don't know...the one by the 91 and 101 you can't miss, it's a junkyard opposite a bunch of nice new homes, I think the city is actually Gardena. As for Wilmington, take 405 south from Torrance, get off on Wilmington exit, go south until it dead ends (at Lomita?) and then go left and it's on your right side. Do a search for ecology autoparts, they should have the addresses. Owen
  18. Torrance, huh? Go the junkyards where the 91 and 110 meet and the one off the Wilmington exit on the 405 south. Owen
  19. I still gotta go check out your car! Let me know when's good. Did you ever think about using rod ends like after market companies sell? Seems like it'd be a lot easier than shortening stock tie rod ends. Owen
  20. My Maxima locks dropped right into my '73...no bending or anything... Owen
  21. Not carbed but here's my top shot. http://www.v8zcar.com/s30z/smyz080800-42.jpg Taken long ago with a crappy camera. Owen
  22. Roger that, Just confirmed with RacerX too. Thanks! Owen
  23. Is there a reducer I can use with this clear? The PPG product sheet makes no mention of it but a search on the net shows that some people have used it. Can I use a laquer thinner instead of the DT reducer? Thanks, Owen
  24. Oh my god! Also, this guy put in a Vette IRS more than 10 years ago! Owen
