How much $$ have you guys paid for seat re-coverings?? I have a set of old school recaros (mesh headrest) and gat a quote for $320 per seat for getting them re done in pleather. It's the material that bmw uses on their cars and the mini coopers. The price includes new foam and mesh for the headrests. They're a very reputable upholstery shop but it seems to be a bit steep. What do you guys think?? $640 for two seats...

Soo, I see there's an rb Z in the Gables... Welcome.. The car looks to good and seems to be in great shape. I think I'm one of the few members on here from Miami. I read that you were looking for an r200. I just threw one away this weekend cause i was tired of it just sitting in my shed. If your still looking, I 'm taking the one out of my car in the next couple of weeks and will sell it to you cheap. PM me if your interested.

Just to give you some piece of mind, I've been to JDM of Miami a few times and have purchased two motors from them. Moe and Carlos treated me good and should be able to help solve your issues as long as you have the proper documentation. The shop is very clean and alot of guys here in Miami buy motor sets from them with out problems. If there is something wrong with it, they usually take care of it right away. Both of my motors have been strapped tight from the warehouse on clean pallets. Unfortunately, my rb26 has been sitting in my back patio for about 4 months now so I haven't been able to get it in the car and running. They held my motor for me for about 6 weeks and and then did a compression test with me the day I picked it up. It had from 152 to about 160 in all six cylinders. I'm sure it was the shippers fault so just be patient.. Abes.

Let's count... I was given my first 280zx at 14. I was the only kid on the block with a real car. No wheels, no interior and missing engine parts while sitting on four cinder blocks. Sixteen years later, I still own an s130. '79 slick top- sold to upgrade '82 turbo coupe- sold '82 turbo coupe- stolen '82 turbo coupe- 5yr project, never finished- sold '81 turbo coupe- parts car for above, scrapped '83 turbo coupe- parts car for above, sold '83 coupe (second owner)- current '82 turbo coupe- parts car, scrapped '83 turbo 2+2- parts car, scrapped 9 280zx in 16 years, Not bad...There was also a black on black '89 300zx turbo between the two '82 turbo coupes.

I'm some what in the same boat as far as time goes. It'll be a few months before I get started on the swap. I have all the major items but I need to finish up some house projects before I get started on the hobbies.. Good luck and keep us posted.... Abe..

FINALLY!! I looked all over the web for someone to show a picture of those installed when I was looking for guages. I had seen them a while ago and thought they looked great but I wasn't 100% on them. Great choice.... By any chance do you have any pics of them lit up? Thanks.

What are you guys paying to have your cv's rebuilt?? I took mine in to get done and came out to $190... I did it just to not have to go through the hassle of looking for other places but I felt that it was pretty pricey. They look great but was it worth it??

I thought so , just wanted to verify. I sent them to get rebuilt and the guy a the shop asked me if it was a 2+2. I don't know why but he had me second guessing.. Thanks..

Does anyone know where I can get the weather stripping for a set of MSA headlight covers. I bought a new pair from someone locally and didn't notice till a few weeks later that the weather stripping was missing. So, now I have covers but no stripping.

You have any Idea where I can get a used rear sump pan?? If I can get a hold of one you'll have first dibbs. I might stay with the pick though .

Well, I finally decided that I'm going to keep driving my GAS saving tacoma instead of buying a new truck and figured why not do it..Tell me, what do you guys think?? If I could only figure this out.. I'm pretty sure you can tell it's an R32. I payed $3200 from a local vendor for the engine only. I've been looking for an R33 for a while but they're hard to come by and when you do find them they want alot $$$. I bought a Haltech a while back, so I'm going to use that for an engine management. In case you were wondering, I'm going to be putting it in this.... I'd like to say that I'm going to be the first hybridz member to put an Rb26 in a zx. Problem is that I have to finish my two year long Master bedroom/ bathroom project that was supposed to be done a year and eight months ago. So... who knows when I'll get started. By the time I do the swap, they'll probably be others out there with it done...

The engine isn't in the car yet so it'll be easy. I'm probably going to install it and make sure everything fits properly and get it running. Eventually I'll pull it out and clean it up, maybe change the bottom end bearings. If it gets bothersome I guiess I can change it out then. STONY:It'll be stock at first withe exception of the haltech, then some upgrades like injectors and bigger turbos but not much more than that. I tried selling a while ago but had no luck, so that's why I figured that I should try to use it.

I have an OS Giken super single clutch/ flywheel combo sitting at home that I was going to use on my rb25. I sold the 25 and bought an r32 rb26, so I'm wondering if it's worth staying with it or selling it and trying to re-coupe some of the money it cost me. I figured, it could only help out to have a lightened flywheel and better clutch right? Problem is, it'll most likely be daily driven so... The motor is going to be stock for a while then gradually upgrading things here and there. What do you think? I haven't read of anyone running this set up on a 26, so please chime in.... Thanks.

I sold an MSA airdam to someone in NC from Miami a few months ago and shipping came out to $90 plus an additional $30 on the boxes (major p.i.a.). It only weighed about 19lbs but the because of the size, it falls into a different category and they call it size weight or something like that. Just another way for them to charge you. I ended up eating $30 to compromise with the buyer just because the shipping almost came out to the amount I sold the piece for... Lesson learned..
