    lsd ? yes/no

The Phantom Grip is complete crap and for $300 it's an expensive piece of crap. For $250 more you can get a Precision Gear Power Brute from Reider Racing and have a real LSD.
  2. So Tim, where is that trailer located?
  3. Hey Pete. My problem is I need a T5 with Datsun/Nissan input and output shafts to go behind my L6... I was considering this because it got me the strength I wanted with the result being a truly bolt-in solution. If this can be accomplished with your alternative, count me in!
  4. True. But it's not the only thing they sell and they've been in this business for over 14 years. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see this happen. I would buy one if someone were to make a good competative product to comparable specifications at or below the G-Force price and had some possibility of being around to support the product for the forseeable future.
  5. Moved my post to the 'Events' section: http://forums.hybridz.org/showpost.php?p=526114&postcount=6 Who said next weekend couldn't happen too! I'm going to be at the park tomorrow with my daughter so I thought I'd just suggest we do it there!

  7. I'm not so sure, but it's possible. I read it as "We will no longer sell assembled transmissions with G-Force gearsets and we will no longer sell G-Force gearsets." I don't read into it "We won't assemble your transmission if you give us the G-Force gearset." What I read, and granted I generally hear things the way I want to hear them, but, it doesn't seem to preclude them assembling a tranny for you if you supply the parts.
  8. Ok, I'll throw this out again. I haven't seen or heard anything since the last message back in Jan. from Moridin. Maybe I'll just set one up myself... So here goes... Anyone NOT going to Clovis this weekend, how 'bout meeting down in my neck of the woods in San Ramon/Dublin at Dublin Nissan? I don't even know if they want us there, but I'll make a call in the morning and see if they mind a half dozen of so of the coolest Z cars in the area gracing their parking lot... PM me know if you're interested and think you might show up so I can give them a rough count. Cheers, ww P.S. I may not have a car ready by then either! Both my '72 and '82 are still in the shop! Damn, the '82 has been there for nearly 2 months!
  9. Dave! You rule! It probably would have made the searching easier if I had been looking on the right board! Thanks, WW
  10. My computer BSOD'd and I lost the post. Subsequent searches for 'headlight' 'relay' 'sale' haven't been enlightening after a 3 day weekend of searching and getting absolutely no work done as a result. Now that I finally landed a decent '72 240z and I've been driving it in the miserable Bay Area rain, the first thing I want to do is the headlight relay conversion and the nicely finished one for ~$45 is where I'm leaning if I can find the post with his contact information. He was out of work and building these to make a little extra money and I want to throw a bone to brother in need. Cheers, WW
  11. Does he want extra for the tranny or is it included in the price? If it's included, get it too. You can sell it on eBay for a load and use the extra money for an intercooler!
  12. F54 w/ heavily massaged N42 & IC 15 PSI on 91 pump gas 25 PSI on 108 octane P90 going under the knife...
  13. Hopefully not that much! That kind of differential would make it nearly impossible to navigate a slalom course. The 4 wheel steer 300zx's had like 2 or 3 degrees of negative steering and 1 or 2 degrees of positive steering.
  14. That size rim with that offset and backspacing should be able to handle a 225/50/15 tire with no problems. You might want to do 215's in the front just to make sure the tire bulge clears the strut tower on the fronts. If they clear it with enough room to spare, then you can go up to 225's on the next purchase. I'm running 16x7's with 225/45/16's on the front and 16x8's with 245/45/16's on the rear and they clear. It's close, but it clears from lock to lock. If I ever get around to doing coil-overs I'll be able to go 16x8's on the front as well. Of course, I'll just want to go to 16x9's on the rear... It never ends...
  15. If you're grinding gears (any of them) your tranny needs a rebuild. How many miles do you have on it. After it's rebuilt, run synthetic MTF in it and you should get a smoother shift and probably more mileage out of it than before. The synthetic did wonders for my T5 which is one of the notchiest trannies this side of Kia.
  16. What about the input and output shafts? Do the spline #'s match up? I'm looking to do a tranny swap on my L28ET to get a better tranny and a better gear ratio. I'd love to do a 6 speed swap....
  17. I'm concerned about the heat generated by the Quaife in my R200 and was curious if anyone's fabed an oil cooler onto their diff?
  18. You can go to Dando's in Fremont. Ken is the new owner and is a pretty good guy. One of his guys is currently doing an SBC swap into his personal 240z. http://tinyurl.com/5zjgf A little farther away is Rob at Z Car Garage in San Jose. http://tinyurl.com/5eg33 Both have pretty good reputations for work on Z cars.
  19. In the states, the 1980+ ZX's all had 6 digit odometers. The 1979 is the only ZX with a 5 digit odometer.
  20. Anything ever come of this? I'm down in San Ramon and would be up for a get together once I get my ride out of the body shop.
