That's an impressive fabrication job 280zedx. Has anyone considered using a centrifugal supercharger rather than a roots style? Mounted on the passenger side, I would think the mounting and plumbing would be a little easier to pull off than the roots install. The intake charge would come from the front and the output could be directed out through the passenger side of the radiator mount, into an intercooler and then in through the stock intake hole on the driver's side into the (AFM/MAF/MAP) TB. You could use a "waste-gate" in front of the supercharger intake to act as a turbo-boost bypass valve on the supercharger. You'd still have to figure out how to fit an electric fan in front of all that plumbing though...

Exactly what I was thinkin' Mike! At least next time, they won't even bother to ask you to help! -
I think a little 50 shot would be a great way to spin your turbine up a little faster and at that rate it won't go through a bottle very fast and won't put that much additional stress on your driveline. You'll need to connect it to an rpm sensitive switch to shut it off once you reach full boost. I wouldn't want to be boosting with N20 at the same time unless it was professionally tuned on a dyno.

I've got a set of Corbeau A4's and they sit too high when I've got my helmet on. What did you modify on the seat mounts to lower them? I've got the Corbeau sliders and don't like the fact that the release handle doesn't move with the seats. I'm planning to modify my stock sliders to the Corbeau's but I'd like to drop the seats down about 6 inches while I'm at it!

You guys need to remember, these cars were modified in the late 70's and early 80's. We're talkin' DISCO here! Think Lamborghini Countach style. And yes, every body part on those cars was functional to increase downforce, vent heat from the engine compartment and make them as fast and reliable as possible. The guy that did the body work understood aerodynamics very well, made his own molds and built his own parts. And for whomever it was that mentioned doing an old school carb'd turbo... How 'bout this one with triple Mikuni's:

Let me know how it goes Dayz. I've been on the hunt for a suitable 'modern' evaporator that would fit under my '72 240Z's dash with minor fabrication to integrate it into the factory ducting. So far, I've settled on an AC compressor and condensor from a '92 Honda Civic, but I haven't found an evaporator that will effectively fit under the dash the way I want.

You'll be needing those wide tires on the rear if you put any kind of upgrades into that RB! 600 or 700 hp in a 2400 lb car would be absolutely frightening... And don't feel bad, one of my car's is approaching it's 19th month in paint jail...

Yeah, you don't realize how much you use those mirrors until they're gone! Factory color matched power door mirrors and clear headlight covers are going on later. The front blinkers are getting replaced with clear lenses and the wire mesh in the brake cooling ducts and IC openings on the air dam are painted black to match the window trim and the black IC itself.

He needed 9" or 10" wide wheels/tires with flares that big on the front!

Now THIS is a tight S130:

Do the admins and moderators really want to get into the business of arbitrating who can and can't have a HybridZ sticker/logo on their car? If there were 'sponsorship' dollars involved, then you would want to make sure the finished product lives up to a certain standard before sending the money. However, the industry standard is to give the 'logo' in the form of stickers away to anyone that wants to provide a free billboard to advertise the product. That's why you can get nearly any manufacturer to send you stickers with their logo for a small fee. I like the first part of Warren's previous post: "Instead of everybody contributing to build a car that's gonna be a controversial nightmare, as far as ownership, participation, cooperation, etc...why not everybody build their own cars with a goal?" Although, my goal would be to complete a powerful, reliable, well engineered and FINISHED project. I know, I know, these cars are almost NEVER "finished" and live in a perpetual state of "near" completion with just a few mods left. But I think we know when a car is ready for prime time. If someone wants to display a HybridZ logo while their car is a work in progress, then I think they should be able to go for it. NOTE: No vinyl letters were harmed during the making of this diatribe...

And what do I happen to see, but Robert Walters being interviewed at the 24hrs of Daytona wearing a khaki HybridZ ball cap! It's amazing where I see these things are popping up! Way to represent Robert!

I've got a crapload of bandwidth but no familiarity with azureus. I've downloaded it but can I move the torrent file I created onto my hosted web server with the video?

I disagree with how they run the race, but I do watch it regularly, even in re-runs. Sorry, this is just an observation from watching it since it was first aired. I'm more interested in what kind of conversations go on between 'potential' competitors and the Pinks! staff. Particularly their 'experts'. How are the show and the mach up presented that lead to such inequalities in the competitors... If any of the Pinks! team members could shed some light on this, we might get a better understanding of how it works behind the scenes. Cheers, Wade

There is no cheating in street racing or Pinks! It's how fast your car is and how much you can fool the other team into thinking it's slower than it really is. Two requirements: 1. Bring the fastest car - if your car has the power, you can control the negotiations. 2. Have enough experience to be quick enough on your feet to come up with rebuttals to every argument the other team might make. Unfortunately, you guys just got out negotiated. 383ci V8 w/ NO2 and 510hp is a far cry from a 170ci I6 w/ a Turbo and FI making 370hp and we have no idea how much torque that Monte was making, but from the wheelie it managed on the launch, it's not hard to imagine it was considerable. That will make up for a lot of the weight disadvantage it has with proper gearing, tires and a trans brake. If you want to win on Pinks! bring the fastest car and don't be the one who has to beg for lengths.

I'd like to see THAT on Pinks!

My service writers 350ZT blew up...got a few questions!
ww replied to 80LS1T's topic in Non Tech Board
You answered your own question. Was it dyno tuned with a wide band O2 after everything was installed? If not, it doesn't have to be too out of tune to smoke a piston. Were the new injectors flow tested and matched? You could have a good O2 reading and still have an injector that's running lean even at full duty cycle and kill the engine. -

I just sent you a PayPal for 4 tickets! WooHoo! Can't wait to see the race! -
You and everyone else... I think you're going to have an even harder time there up north. This being one of if not the easiest swap into an earlier gen Z car, it's one of the most sought after drivelines, especially the one's that haven't been driven into the ground already. I wish you the best of luck.
