Where do I get 3/16 male to male 90* elbows?
hat1324 replied to auxilary's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
save big money at menards! actually any plumbing supply co will have what your looking for, tell them you want a 3/16 male to male 90* OR cut the line with a pipe cutter and use a compression fitting -
could I do the same thing into a hot position wire? so when the key is in the "on" position, or will it burn it up? im thinking maybe somekind of radioshack solinoid
-
I am SOOOO close to this thing turning over by the end of the night(another all nighter); ive been told that I can wire the coil straight to the battery, but im afraid what if the motor stops and the distib. is on a sparkplug.. i see it sparking out untill it fries or the battery dies.. Im usiing the harness from my 4cyl, (water temp and oil) can I wire the positive to one of the Hot wire when the ign, is in the hot position, or one of the hot wires to the coils?? It has to be running by the end of the night tomarrow today, exaust goes on tomarrow at the shop.. edit: this is a copy from my roomates post on s10v8, not my Z. and you guys are super fast to post.

exactly why I went with the 135+ the T seams identical to the pro-mig from lowes.. got a FREE tank from a local shop, and gas was $30(Stargon)

yep, thats what we got! also bought the 1.5" in case.. another Q.. what about the bolts for the tourqe converter, in this case a 2600 stall? nothing is threaded to put a bolt in, will pretty much any grade 8 bolt work? its got 3 mounting holes on the converter and 6 on the flexplate, I cant find any bolts in the box's the guy gave us.. Im going to have my roomate call when he gets back from random part hunt #762 BTW we have to get the swap done by this saturday(EEK!!) Carb is getting picked up tomarrow and the driveshaft lengths go in to the shop. mods to the chassis are compleete(as to JTR book) We lucked out when we went with the 98 as it allready has half of the things blocking it moved.. we were about to throw the engine and tranny together, I picked up the box, and was like "uhhh, no bolts again". I guess Ill have to bolt the tranny and engine together w/o the converter and put it in its mounts to line it all up, then tomarrow remove it and put the converter in..

My roomate and I are doing a 383 into his s10, only problem.. when he bought the motor and th350(from a hybridZ member) He forgot the get the transmission -> block bolts.. The 4cyl doesnt use the same bolt pattern... Autozone and pepboys dont know and todays sunday, the parts dept is closed at chevy.. bolt store is open till 6:30(its 5:15 now!!)
-
OMFG.. where were you? westside?(by the track).. I wil find that car, and TEAR THE WING OFF.
-
I almost wish I could bolt up a Z32 or supra tranny to it.. but it looks like Ill go auto
-
Allright, I have my Z, I have my motor, I have my turbo, I have my rear end, I have my radiator, and Im getting my IC.. Suspension is on the drawing board and now its time to finaly choose what to do.. I will have 600+WHP from my motor(turbocharged 351W) and as most of you swap guys know domestic trannys suck totaly when it comes to handeling tourque(stock anyway) and upgrading a transmission is about 2k.. I can go auto for WAYY less.. BUT if I switch to an auto I lose the ability to EVER do more then drag race. Cant Road race with a racheting auto(can you??) cant auto-X... I will BLOW UP T5's... AHHHHHHHH

send me the pics hat1324@yahoo.com and Ill put them on my site, you can post them anywhere I have WAYYY to much free bandwith

carbon fibre strut tower bars.

sounds easyer to machine though.. welding aluminum isnt the easyest of all processes -

i also wouldnt take it apart.. but they are right, if its to much you can allways down size with a different housing. is this ona stock motor(L series?) I forsee alot of lag with this turbo.. my 1.05 will have lag issues on my 351W
-
Yes but its the actual version.. The Lowes/home depot/menards version is called the "PRO MIG 135" very simmilar but it actually is missing things. UPDATE!!! I went with Lincon SP-135 Plus, with the cart.. I paid maybe $5 less then what there listed at after Tax hit my discount but its all good.. why did I go with the Lincon and not the Miller? 1. I like the way the Lincon gun feels. 2. The parts that need to be replaced(tips, etc) are $5 for a whole pack and the miller is .40 a piece.. 3. both the "cadilac of welders" 4. to weld aluminum cost $60.. cost $500 for the Miller spoolmate.. 5. the company I got it from hooked me up with alot of accessories.. plus it says nascar.. what can be cooler then that?

you guys should of let me know you were coming in town, coulda helped with the hotels and I have friends in speedway where you coulda parked or kept your stuff anyway..
-
and if you dont host there I have 3 hosts that I have acess to.. over 5gb of storage
-
you mean the 135t or the 135 Plus? i dont see a "pro series"... talking to the welding shop they got me thinking the adjustibility is way important(especially in sheet metal).. is the 175 one at lowes adjustible? EDIT: its not a 110 volt unit
-
dont be offended, but I dont want to pay $450 for parts that I could put together for half of that... Most likely I will go with the MM, but I want to do more research into my options.. your right, the mustangs dont use the tubes but the items look similar in style and untill I can call arround and maybe put somthing on the car... My issue is im still about 5k behind being driveable, and i wanted to be done in 2 more months.. I have to finish some stuff on websites and work is going well, but making budget is a bitch. Saving $200 is a boost guage and a spool of vacuum lines and a dr.Pepper.
-
that is a HUUUGGGEE turbo.. what does the cold side say? my MP-GT45 is a 1.05/.66 hot/cold and its a 1kHP+ turbo.. and that number is the housing size
-
I havent seen any coilovers on ebay(as in the sleve conversions) but ive been primarily looking at Z swaps.. Thank you for the links, I see myself going that route for my coilover conversion..
