  1. Does anyone have the Datsun/Nissan Avtar .gif that cycles through the years of Nissan and Datsun emblems? or know who does? I'd like to use that.
  2. switch that engine over to manual.. you'll have more fun
  3. you can also set the type in megatune. You are having the same problem I had with the LC-1. Check to make sure you are using the correct analog output on the LC-1.. there is one out put for narrowband type on the other output for wideband type. Just check to make sure you've got the correct one first.
  4. maybe you're not getting a tach signal? The injectors and the spark wouldn't be told to fire if you're not getting a tach signal. Try hitting the tps quick and see if the right led lights up.
  5. it's a three stage light... I'm going to get on the ecu and change the settings to a really low rpm and then rev the engine so you can see the three seperate stages, and then i'll have a ovie of an acceleration through 1 2 and 3. This is just a teaser to show where i mounted it and how it lights up.
  6. This is a teaser for the shift light. It was raining so I was spinning tires hard core. http://www.graytechsoftware.com/garage/images/tmp/280zxt_shiftlight.mov I'll get a better vid when it's not all wet
  7. i'll get some up by 7 tonight... i'm on campus so it'll have to wait
  8. well, here are some rough images: before after
  9. cross your fingers, hopefully at the end of today you will have a video of a WORKING shift light. It's in the car, the car can run, so all i have to do is change the settings. My next feat is to figure out how to host a video file
  10. hahaha... i have a VERY basic knowledge of electronics. Luckily I'm in college and I had 2 electrical engineers (one a grad student) to help me. I did build this shift light tho... and i couldn't put it all together in my head (once again another electical engineer helped me ). but, as it turns out, once I get a laptop to change the megatune settings, with luck i'll post up a vid.
  11. hey moby, how did you connect to the pin 10 and 11 on the pcb for the shift light?
  12. way too complicated... lol where can i find a 5V out source on the V2.2 board?
  13. Ok,l I've got the dash apart installing a new shift light (video and pics by next week) I have one problem. I need to find a 5 volt power source. where can I find this source? I also have a 12 volt source going to it. Can I just add a resistor? what resisitor?
  14. first I would suggest taking the block apart and checking to see if the fire warped anything. Or, just grab yourself a new engine. Secondly.. yeah the megasquirt could be a great upgrade right now, especially if it's done right.I'm not sure if anyone else on this board has done a 300zxt? SOunds like a fun project.
  15. if i remember correct.. the same parts are required.. but how you wire them are different.
  16. On my 82 zxt, I've got a knock sensor right behind the alternator on the black. Since I'm running megasquirt, it's not hooked up. How does a knock sensor send a signal, and what would be a good way to test it? SHould I just try to find another sensor that fits?
  17. if you're swapping engines.. get an '82 zxt engine... mine did just fine.
  18. I'm going to agree with 73turbo240z... if you've got that before the turbo, it's definitely in the wrong place. You need to be measuring the air going into the cylinders, which is a lot hotter than the ambient. IF it doesn't run right.. that's in the tuning, not the sensor placement. From the megamanual: Just a little reading at http://www.megasquirt.info
  19. not yet.. that's for the VR conversion I'm doing in 6 years... just a boosted l28
  20. 1. Not sure 2. The wiring of the car is completely up to you, as long as it's done I have my car completely rewired for the system. I used the rs-autosports kit and the MS relay board. Pretty much the only connectors that you get to work with are the one that connect to the pieces, such as the injector connectors, sensor connectors, etc. WHen it comes to the throttle body.. I believe you need a variable sensor instead of a switch type.. meaning not the stock TB and prolly a 240sx one. Someone may correct me on this. 3. The MS is obviously connected to a DB-27 computer connection, which means you can't really use ony of the stock harness connectors.
  21. I'm not sure but I think you can also use the PWM feature in the constants section if you don't want resistors. If you use resistors then the PWM section is null and void. Read up on that in the megamanual under both tuning and injectors
  22. To be a little more technical on this issue.. here's some fun facts. You want the IAT sensor after the intercooler obvoiusly. The "don't install on the intake" is not always correct. The CLT sensor is on the intake and nothing's wrong with that.. It's really easy to place anywhere if you have a 3/4in drill, welder or even jb weld and a bung or nut that fits the pipe thread on the sensor. All up to you
  23. if you want a REALLY nice DIY harness kit, go to http://www.rs-autosport.com. I've got thiers and it was amazingly easy..
  24. I think moby has done this.. Where can I go to look for a kit for a DYI three stage LED shift light kit?
