  1. Mine (from MSA) also required trimming and sanding. IIRC, one of the fronts was like a 3/8" skinnier at one end and three of the four flares had a lip that needed trimming to make them even. Also, the ends were not totally round and needed some work as well.
  2. Does this mean that the bottom cushion is going to be really thin? Anyone tried these?
  3. In case someone is still thinking of these wheels, I got mine from Kim a week or two ago. They are the 17x9" and 17x9.5" set in Royal Gold. I paid $775 via Paypal, he mentioned $750 via money order, took about a week to arrive. Haven't mounted tires on them yet, going to tackle the flares soon hopefully. Kim was pretty quick to reply to emails, good to deal with.
  4. Thanks, that's great, just what I wanted to know. I am also long-legged so it sounds like it shouldn't be an issue. Which bolster rubs? The top, middle or seat? You don't think it would wear the fabric after a while?
  5. Question for anyone who has installed Corbeau TRS or CR1 seats in their Z, did they bolt right in with the Corbeau mounts? I have read that lots of people have modified the mounting brackets to deal with headroom issues. How much do the Corbeau brackets raise the seating position? I am 6' tall and there seems to be lots of room with the stock seats. Also did anyone have issues with the seat hitting the door panel? Thanks!
  6. Quick question for those still watching this old thread. For my 1972 240z bought the 17x9, 17x9.5 RB-R set (in Royal Gold) just about to pull the trigger on tires. Definitely going with Continental ExtremeContact DWS 275/40/17 for the rear but am stuck on the front and would love to hear from those who bought this set. Choosing between the following: 245/45/17 - My first choice, will be same height as the rear 275s. BUT do these but do they rub on the fender/airdam? 245/40/17 - would order these but are on back order from Tirerack/Dicounttiredirect so who knows when they will arrive 255/40/17 - somewhere inbetween the other two but a bit wider 235/45/17 - just a little narrower than the 245/45/17s but I'm worried they won't looks as "full" on the rim. Please chime in if you can I want to order these ASAP. Thanks!
  7. A very bad cell phone photo, but here is my Z. Has Boyds aluminum rims from when I got it a few months back, trying to order some gold 17" Rota RB-Rs right now. Lowered a couple inches or so with ground control coilovers and Illuminas. I will put together a project thread soon as I redid all the suspension and have a lot more planned. Is it just me or is white maybe the best colour for these Zs? craig

  9. Wow, the gold Rota's look fantastic on a white z. I think I am going that route too. jdm, What size are your rims/tires?
  10. So did you have problems with the Maxima setup with the parking brake? Considering both of these options now but leaning towards the Maxima setup because of price. craig
  11. Indri, google "240z brake craigslist las vegas" comes up first
  12. I want one of these! Can anyone post some better pix of it installed?
  13. Thanks for the help, I guess I am going to have to get creative. I was hoping for a quick (and cheap) fix. I guess I should have known better...
  14. Ok, I have searched these forums front to back to find any info on this to no avail. My parking brake cable is seized, what options do I have? Can I use a 280z or a 240sx cable? I was hoping to use the Modern Motorsports 240sx rear brake package so I would imagine if the 240sx cable works on my '72 240z, it would all go together nicely. I am sure lots of ppl have the same issue so any help would be appreciated! Craig
  15. Just got my axle set, they look great! Thanks John!
  16. GodZilla, your in Vancouver, right? Where abouts did you pick that up? I haven't started calling around yet but wondering if there were some good parts places to find one.
  17. Love the exhaust install , what gas tank is that? Are those glasspacks?
  18. Sorry to take this off topic again but are there no diffs that can be used in the R180 so your don't have to change the half-shafts, yoke, etc? I'm still learning about this stuff but it seems to me that the weak points like the spider gears would be replaced with an LSD? Or am I way off here?
