S15 200sx owner

From the way Ross is taking it sounds like the ultimate s30 stub axle is not too far away! If MM can supply a complete kit (incl bearings etc) to fit these new Z31 style 41 spline stub axles into our S30 strut housings, how great will that be. Anxiously waiting......

Ross, I have already spoken with you a few months ago in regards to this swap for the s30 struts, after i had been emailing Ben. This would be a great alternative to doing the whole technotoy rear swap. I am also very interested, once you have made these parts (including a companion flange to suit the 6 bolt inner GTR or Z32TT CV) I am sure they will be a big seller. When are you likely to have them availble to suit s30? Please keep us updated Ross.

Rob, Just watched your vid again, was that a bit of detonation on the launch? There is a short rattling/knocking noise just as you launch.

And are you happy with the brakes? Performance etc? If you had to do it again would you go with those, i am considering getting the kit you have thats all. Thanks for the other info too, very helpful.

Mark, I see you also run the AZC rear arms and what looks like their alloy M bar and alloy drop links as well, what are your opinions on all these parts? Well built? Fit well? etc etc. Also what rate springs do you run for the track and what size sway bars? What size and brand brakes are you running there, how do you find them? Sorry for all the Q's Clint

Thanks, the Z is not going yet so sorry cant give you an answer. The front spoiler/bonnet/hatch are actually glass, not sure of its origin sorry (somewhere over this part of the world tho i believe) What are you running in the porka to make 500+ hp??

Guys, I wouldnt recommend running the S15 6 speed, if you are going to be running higher power than stock. I owned an S15 Silvia SR20det Spec R for over 2 years. All i did to it was K&N air filter, minor increase in boost and a trick 3" mandrel bent exhaust system (with a seperate pipe from wastegate) this added 46kw at the wheels. The car went well and i drove it quite hard through the gears and the odd skid and drift etc, but nothing really abusive. The car had 38k kms on it when i bought it and was mint. After about 25,000 kms with the mod's the 6 speed was making very bad noises, it was stripped and inspected and found to be completly worn out, bearings and gear surfaces. The gearbox shop said that they are known to be weak. Basically nissan squeased an extra gear into the same size case, so everything had to be smaller in size, hence the in-ability to handle the increase in torque. Apparantly the Drift guys that run S15's out here, swap out the 6 speed in favour of the S14 5 speed for its strenght.

I am venturing out to the US for two weeks from the 13th October. Anyone keen to meet up? I will be traveling with my GF, we will be in San Fran 13th-14th Oct, then Vegas 15th-20th, then LA 20th-25th. Would be cool to catch up and hopefully see some mean RB powered Z's Clint.
