  1. The grille has been ordered from MJP Eastern Auto in the UK who bring MSA stuff into the country. Now for the rest .......
  2. Bartman I owe you a beer !!!!! Many Thanks, will check Zcarparts right away Thank You Andy F
  3. I can see the differences now you point them out - he has obviously copied the blue one which was done in the early 80s again with porsche turbo wheel arches (930) and I agree with you, the blue one looks more elegant. Different cars they may be but there is inspiration to the point of plagiarism going on
  4. Same wheels.........same CUSTOM BUILT front spoiler ........
  5. http://www.ofoto.co.uk/PhotoView.jsp?&collid=26272167733&photoid=16272167733
  6. When I click it I go to my garage page - must send each user to their own garage - how do I post pics somewhere on here please ?? Very different to my own Z Club forum
  7. The blue one has round lights, the yellow one has original lights so they may not be the same car, most likely not but they have obviously not been done independently - Both in Scandinavia, both with 930 arches, both with the same side vents in the front wings, both with a ZXR style spoiler .........etc
  8. Try this, not sure if it will work http://forums.hybridz.org/vbgarage.php?do=editgarage&id=11577
  9. He names Thomas in his text but I cannot understand the language - if he built it then great ! It is a beautiful car but if he did then it has definitely been copied off the original. I have a pic of the original but cannot find where to attach it here.
  10. It is either the one originally built by Thomas Alsterfalk or is a copy like mine was going to be
  11. That yellow Z was if I am not mistaken built in the early 80s and was originally Porsche Prussian blue - how do I know this ? It was the model for my own Z..... however..... I have since changed my mind on how I want my Z to look and am considering selling the wheel arches. They are absolutely brand new, steel, and have never been on a car. They are identical to the ones on the yellow car (Porsche 930 front and rear) For anyone in the states it would be cheaper to source them locally because of the exchange rate (great for us though). The arches were about $1200 (£624 using rough guess conversion to $) As far as I can recall from the details I have it has had the gutters taken off, has a custom front spoiler with oil coolers fitted on the inside, custom rear valance and the rear spoiler is from a ZXR
  12. Thanks Alan, Had slipped my mind that they dress the other way in the States so to speak ! It is definitely RHD wiper arms I need. I will give you a bell about the rear lights to discuss "how" illegal they are (I know it is binary really). Checked the grill and yes that is the one ! Pity the auction has ended, will keep trying ebay I guess. Many Thanks all Andy F
  13. Thanks - I keep looking I have some brand new ones already but aftermarket ones that have a black rubber trim
  14. Hi Guys, Whilst definitely a HybridZ underneath, the outside of my car will look stock, I have decided not to go for the big arch look (having already spent the money - what a Muppet !) I am now looking for "New Old Stock" OEM parts for a 1971 240Z : Switchgear Original clear headlight covers with chrome trim Wiper arms Ignition lock set (plus glove box) OEM rear lights Mesh Grill (Japanese market type as fitted to ALL Japanese cars and the Z432) Can anybody help please ? I am also looking for a replacement for the hideously ugly heater control fascia plate - has anyone done a Carbon Fibre version ? Please PM me if you have any "New Old Stock" to offer - if publicised on forum there would only be a bun fight to get it I guess. Many Thanks Andy Farrant
  15. Dare I say a lot of hybrids lose the plot a bit but some (think Pete Paraska's Z, Blue Oval Z etc) are really tasteful and strikingly gorgeous. That is where I am trying to take my car. I have to say that is one of the nicest, cleanest, classiest looking Hyrbrids I have ever seen - it is stunning ! Reminds me a bit of a car on Eric Nyerlin's site called Red Stomper, another beautiful car (Think it is the rear arch flares) Envy is an understatement for the way I feel right now
  16. OK John, I hold my hands up ...... Nut Job !!!! Nearer the time it is finished I would appreciate some advice on aerodynamics and handling please. The engineer building it is a top autocross car builder so he knows how to do that but street and track is a bit different.
  17. I know of a rally prepared 240Z in the UK running penske suspension and it is creaming all comers in the historic rally championships. The same engineer that built that car is building mine but using Ohlins remote resevoir dampers on mine. Have to say, the penske stuff is excellent, the other car he has just built for the East African Safari ($200K budget) is running Reiger units.
  18. Sorry Cody - English humour can be kinda cooky sometimes
  19. Vile and nasty - HOWEVER......... if done tastefully, I am intrigued by the modded rear hatch and what it would do to the aerodynamics of the car. A lot of supposed "performance" cars have the flat back end like the snotty Z pictured (think lotus europa, testarossa etc) Any one got any ideas ? Would it improve aerodynamics or create more drag ?
  20. GO BRITISH AP Racing brakes are excellent - they need modding to fit because they do not do car specific calipers, their range is designed to be custom fitted but they are the world's number one without doubt closely followed by Brembo.
  21. SO the consensus is obviously that 400BHP is good and controllable....... what about 500......600 .............700 ?
  22. VERY good point pete, do not want it "on or off". I am having discussions at the moment whether it will be better to install a cable linkage or keep the throttle by wire system and map the way the juice comes in. I could run a normal street map with a softer throttle attack and a competition one with a bit more grunt early on. ANy views ??
  23. Good advice thanks Guys, I do not think that these guys over here are worried about getting smoked at all, the concerns are how hard it would be to feather the throttle around a race track for example - one lapse in concentration, one blip too hard and I could be off the track. On a drag strip the software computations have shown a faster run at 450BHP than 500 because of potential traction issues - as I say, I have nothing to go on, nor have a lot of the people helping me other than software computations and gut feel (Hey, I can justifiably be in two minds because I have two sets of guts) The question is really more about traction I suppose than power. The five speed is an interesting idea - Mike Kelly advised me on a 5 speed way back but I had six speed stuck in my head. Could I get a five speed with first gear the same ratio as second in the T56 ? WHich one would be best ?
  24. Thanks, I only wish we had really hot days in England I have a NISMO 3.9LSD in an R200 already and am having custom driveshafts because I am convinced modded 280 ones will shatter - I know everyone uses them but I just have it as a bee in my bonnet. Tryes will be 265 / 40 / 17s on the back which are all negative offset so sit under big arches. The chassis is being seriously strengthened, full cage, longer and thicker rails, thicker floor, seam welded panels and apertures eveywhere. Basically the build spec was put together to cope with 700RWBHP but I am being advised against it left right and centre, just wondered what the concensus was ? How much power is just right to give brutal acceleration but not be so far out there that the car shakes it's booty at the slightest hint of too much throttle ? I have nothing to go on because Hybridz are simply not cricket over here !!! I would like lots of grunt but useable grunt and not just to have a donut machine.
