  1. It was an interesting thought, but I think I am going to stick with a version of the twin throttle body that I already have. If this thing evolves into a race car then I'll look at ITBs again but I'll keep it simple for now. Thanks everyone!
  2. Sorry, I'm getting mixed up again. I am running a speed density system on the car. Like megasquirt. Its going to be turboed in a few months so I will need to make a plenum anyways so a maf would probably work in that case.
  3. I dont know if it matters but I'll be running a mass airflow system, n/a to start with and turboing in a few months.
  4. she's good, a little neglected lately because of daily driver troubles but not too bad. She will be up and running this spring. I'm keeping the L24 until I decide on what engine I'll be swapping in.
  5. no it was a 280zx, I remember because that's when I only had a zx. Before I got my 240z.
  6. This car was for sale on ebay a while back, less engine. I dont remember what happened with it though.
  7. Dont need the negative pep talk guys, I already decided not to do it back in march, when this thread died. Besides, I was not able to aquire the engines, so this would have been out of pocket, which is unacceptable.
  8. I've been designing an individual throttle body intake for my car and I need to know what the effect of having large TBs would be. The car came with a single 52mm TB, what would be the effect of running six 48mm TBs? I just dont want to go to all the trouble of making this intake and have it kill performance. Thanks.
  9. I got both of mine for free ...and I payed too much.
  10. I could really like that idea if it wasnt for the $16,000 worth of engines that have a very high probability of breaking if you dont land just right.
  11. I need to mount a MAP sensor on an intake I'm building and I need to know if I can mount it to the balance tube, this location is the most convenient for the application. Does the sensor need to be in flowing air, like on a runner or would the balance tube be alright? Thanks.
  12. I happen to like autozne because I Always get what I ask for, the guys there are Very helpful and always know what my problem is (strange isnt it). This is the FIRST time I have had an issue with anything from them. and I went with the cheap Re-ring kit because I Have No Money and this thing Needs to get back on the road. If you want to keep ridiculing me about my choice go ahead, just let me know when something important has been posted.
  13. I guess I'm off to the Clevite store tomorrow. I need a new oil pump anyways...
  14. autozone under the hi-tech label They are like $5 a rod so I'm going to go to the dealer and see if those are any better.
  15. This is the connecting rod for my daily driver that I've been putting back together over the holidays. At first I thought it was the wrong bearing but after a couple of calls, it Is the correct bearing. So what do I do? Leave it or drill it out? Thanks.
  16. I finally got my friggin computer fixed, that was plenty! Then my mom is paying for my passport so I can go visit my brother and his wife in ukraine, that's going to be awesome! I also got a couple of weeks worth in gas cards and some good ol cash that I'll probably spend on the Z.
  17. He loved it! He asked me where I got it, I guess that means I did a good job. He got the whole story though so he loves it. I think he likes having a one of a kind..
  18. I bought one of those john deere clocks a while back and turned it into this Oliver clock for my grandpa, for christmas of course! He restores Olivers as a hobby so I think he will like it. What do you guys think?
  19. Or you could fabricate an elbow to move the turbo up a little higher.
  20. One of my other projects is getting a turbo install and an engine rebuild at the moment. I was wondering if I should break in the engine before I install the turbo or if I should break it in on boost. Obviously adding a turbo to a broken in engine is not a huge deal since people do it all the time, but would there be any advantage to doing the break in with the turbo installed, and should I run it at the "stock" 7psi or turn it down some? Or does it not matter and I'm just being paranoid?
  21. Cant wait to see it, I'll need at least one!
  22. Oh that's crap, box it up and send it my way for disposal! j/k it looks awesome, That's about what I want to do for my car ...eventually.
  23. I've got plenty of those, its the LD28 rods that I cant find!
