  1. How do I attach a mechanical boost controller to my l20et? I'm assuming that pipe off the aculator and a pipe from the inlet somewhere. But i have no idea what one? Can someone please give me a hand? Cheers.
  2. dont "ALOT" of things in the engines firing and igniton need to be modified to use diesel? By the way, theres HEAPS of LD28s in nz, if anyone wants anything off one or for one let me know.
  3. i dunno if you got this sorted, assuming its a fuel injected engine it sounds like you Idle control valves to me, my car does exactly the same thing (its auto) when the black plug on the idle control valves is plugged int, unplug it and everything is fine, stalling stopped.

  8. I need to know where these idle control valve hoses to. My engine is going again but it running rough as guts and wont idle...Dunno if the timing is right either so ill need to do a bit of tuning by the looks of it.
  9. Well that l28et gasket is in the bin now anyway. I'm too weak and i couldnt support it properly when me and DJZ were putting it back on. So i'm waiting on the L20A gasket which should be here thursday, and this time when we put it back on ill make sure we have a few more people. Its a very difficult job when the manifolds are attached as all the weight seems to goto one end and its hard finding a place to get a grip on the bloody thing. Should me a much easier task with a couple more people. That L28et gasket didnt match up properly on the water jackets anyway. It didn't look like it was gonna fit on the block properly. But then looking at the old gasket it had the similar problem too and rusty crap had built up in the unnessecary holes.
  10. i can get a complete rb20det with all the bits incl turbo for $750NZ. Not much at all, just bloody rare in the usa so they cost like 300% more

  12. HR30 skylines came out with L series engines DR30 skylines came out with FG series engines xx31+ skylines came out with RB series engines note that my PNV HR30 came with a L20ET
  13. where would i find NZ Gaskets? I searched google but jsut found a whole bunch of UBD links.

  15. Ok, the head is off Took us around 3 hours (2 people) and we kept finding really tight or tripped studs that were hard to get out. But we got them in the end, we need 3 people to get the head off though (with turbo inlet still attached) The gasket blew a small hole in cylindar six, it was really nasty looking but the good news is that there has been no damage , except for some rust that is now gone. I've cleaned it up as much as possible. I have a l28et head gasket to put on it, whats this going to do to the compression? Is there anything else you guys would recommend I do while ive got the head off?
  16. I need to get to my head and replace the gasket and check for head damage. We managed to get those hex bolts out, but now...we're stuck with getting this fuel injection and turbo stuff off so I can get the intake manifold off. But how the hell do i do it? Someone please give precise instructions or even psot some pics/diagrams for me, so i can get this thing off and get my r30 going again! Regards, George

  18. I need help. How on earth do I get all the intake manifold and the injectors off? We have spent 2 hours trying to figure out exactly how it works
  19. is a l20a gasket the same as a l20et? Because i'm having trouble finding one, but the lady at Repco told me a l20a is basically the same & may fit.
  20. Ok i got the rocker cover off. Its pretty gross looking in there! Gasket is absolutely stuff. It looks peice of peice to put a new one on. Head looks fine too me tho...apart from all the creamy oil thats on everything
