I just got my bolt in roll cage.......After waiting over a month for it I should of waited another week. I am gonna give them a call anyway cause the package came all beat up.

Well ebay is one source to find a salvage car...... other online searches will sometime bring up local LS1 cars that are being sold by private owners or such. It comes down to do you have the time to part the car back out or like Dale said spend that hard earned money. I am a college student so the longer cheaper way is my way...lol

Yup you shouldn't have a problem at all. Just makes sure the job is done right and neat.

Hey why not just wait untill you can find a complete car and part is back out. That is what I am going to do becaue I do not have the cash to just buy an engine and tranny. I know for sure you will save lots of money that way....

I just got my rails from BADDOG and they really do fit great. I think they really worth the price and I if you can't make them yourself then it's the way to go.

I am tring to get the underbody coat off the car because I am gettin ready to weld. One person told me to sandblast but I am tring to see if there are any other options first. Thanks guys.

So I went with the bolt in 6 point cage. It should be here next week, so I hope it fits well and I will post pictures as soon as I learn how to. Thanks for the input from everyone.

I understand what you mean about my head and the roll cage. When I say street driven car it really means only 1 or 2 nights out the week. So i have gone with the auto power 8-point rollcage. I hope to be placing the order later this week after I finalize this is my head and on paper. So lets see what happens....

Thanks Phantom and VRJoe. I think I am going to go with cage because I do intend on having the car run sub 11 secs runs "oneday" of course not when I first get it on the road. Also I do not want to do things twice cause I am a poor college student . With that said I have to choose between the 8 or 10 point cage. I think I may just go with the 8-point cage. If you can give me a really good reason why I shouldnt, my ears are wide open. I am here to learn. Thanks again.

Is the 10-point cage to much for a street car?

Ok I am going to keep this one short.....its has been asked 1000's of times here on the site but I can't find an answer to my needs. I need a roll cage for my 240 and I want to know which kit is the best to purchase for a street car? I am having someone weld it in for me.....I just need the best complete kit with lil mods to make it work. Thanks guys.

roll cage.......I need info from people who have cages in their car. Some of you may know I am doing the LS1 swap but I need to start from the chassis. What do I want to do? Basically I am killing two birds with one stone....I am using my car for my senior design this year. This way I can get a bunch of work done to the car and get credits for school.....great deal! So I want to get a good cage that I can tie into the frame of the car. I guess get some sub frame connectors and frame rail supports. Any info or words to the wise is great. I will post pics in the next two weeks and show you guys where I am. I am just planning right now for the next 2 weeks but then I have to started cause my Prof's are on my case. Thanks guys!

Very true. I am trying to explain this to a bunch of Prof w/Phd's with no clue about cars. They told me it must be worked out on paper to convince them. So as we type I am thinking of what to do.

Yeah you guys are right. My problem is that the car is not running so I can no even do any test stopping from 100 - 0. So I guess I will have to figure something out.

I know it sounds really silly....because I will be doing the big brake upgrade but I have to prove it through equations that the car will stop in a shorter distance than if I had the stock brakes system on. Pushing the car down the hill would be a great idea right?

Hey if you have pics of your car wrecked with the roll cage in tact that would be great. Any suggestions on a cage? Car will be used for street mostly and every 2 weekends the strip. Also the car will have an Ls1 one day when the fees of books are finished.

I was also wondering if there is a site that you can plug in different variables to predict stopping distances at various speeds.....or anyone know how to do this....Thanks again.

Wondering if anyone has done a stress test on the chassis of a 240z or a roll cage designed to be put in. My senior design project for school requires all these numbers and I have to model a cage to do test on it. Thanks guys.
